The Shippon Barn

Wirral (Near Thurstaston)

Located in Wirral, The Shippon Barn provides a private pool. The accommodations is 27 mi from Southport, and guests benefit from complimentary WiFi and private parking available on site. The building on approach was just beautiful. Maybe not well signed, or maybe that was just us. We were a group of girls celebrating a hen doo so to be next door to a pub was fab. The key collection was easy, neighbours very nice and parking outside your property. Furnished and decorated in a manor that suited the property, comfy beds, huge sofa & the massive solid wood table in the kitchen was amazing. We all sat around it, chatted, are, played games, just brill. Cooker easy to use. Good size fridge. WiFi very good. All the bits and bobs ya needed... tea towels, can opener, cork screw, ya know, the stuff you always mean to pack, just in case, but don’t lol. Lots of extras in the kitchen such as tea, coffee, salt, pepper. Ice in the freezer was very well received by us!!! The Hot tub was brill. Good size, clean, easy to use. Well lit for nighttime use, secluded for daytime use. Very private garden. Although we did not take our dogs, i would feel confident they’d have been safe. The barn on the whole though did not show any signs of having had animals, so for a non animal lover you could stay knowing it is very clean and well maintained. We spoke with the owner regarding the use of the swimming pool & he was very nice on the phone, even nice when we bumped into him the following morning on the way to the pool. The pool is a small walk away, sensible shoes needed and a big coat for your return so not to get too cold. We went early March and weather was mixed so did have to walk up in the rain one day. The pool is used privately by both adjoining letting properties do you need to let the owner know when you’d like to use it and to ensure the other barns guests are not in it. It’s a little hard to get hold of the owner so maybe arrange this prior to your trip. The pool is huge, bigger than expected with a hot tub in there too. A little tired maybe but clean & in perfect order. It has amazing beams inside and some lovely features.
