The castle was beautiful but the location was everything they said and more! The castle is on the cliff edge and the views are absolutely magnificent! The restaurant inside was perfect and had excellent food!
I am trying to review Fisherman’s cottage-which was great except that it didn’t state anywhere in it that it was a studio flat. It said it had one bedroom but there is no door to separate it from the rest of the cottage so u are essentially sleeping in the same room as a fridge & freezer gurgling all night -and if u have a dog u have to sleep in the same room as it unless u shut it in the bathroom. I just thought that it was important to make this point somewhere as nowhere seemed to let me review the cottage properly- just gave me a set of tick box questions. As I said it is a lovely cottage unless u mind sleeping with ur dog and a fridge and freezer in the same room-which I did! As for Tintagel-been coming here for years and is as lovely as ever!
Definitely must visit: Tintagel Castle. The views are stunning. It was challenging to find Merlin’s face, but it was fun when we finally found it:). Definitely recommend, don’t leave the place before finding the face on the rocks. The Arthur’s arm pub is a great place to eat. Try the Cream Tea, it’s homemade and absolutely delicious 😋
The coastline is beautiful, and the sound of the wind, ocean and rain created a feeling of tranquility. Prepare for all types of weather in a day and your stay will exceed any expectations. We were able to walk all over Tentagel covering the ruins, Camelot Castle Hotel, beaches, trails, and the biggest surprise was doing a tour of King Arthur's Great Halls. The only thing i would do next time is eat early then do the sunset because no food is served after 21:30, nor were there takeaways avalable. We had to travel t a nearby village to get something.
Tintagel is a very interesting, small town/village, with many interesting features. It has a good range of eating and drinking establishments, so we were never at a loss for somewhere to go, or for something to do.
Superb coastal scenery particularly around castle ..... good weather is obviously a must in order to see it at it's best as is a reasonably good degree of personal mobility. In addition to the castle, the Great Hall is not to be missed.
The location of Wootons Inn cannot be matched for visiting Tintagel. The rooms are clean and comfortable, although a little awkwardly furnished/arranged. The staff seems a bit overworked, but were accommodating and courteous. The breakfast was spot on and delicious. Be prepared to haul luggage up steps. Overall, this was a very good place to stay and we would definitely stay again. Not a better place to be if visiting Tintagel. The glass conservatory serves as a breakfast room and a wonderful place to crash coming back from the castle.
Tintagel
Downside? The stay was too short. Everything was perfect, from pre check-in communication. I asked if I could store my luggage before check-in and Andra and Marcus offered me an early check in with room upgrade! The room was very clean, nice and cosy, with an amazing countryside view. Breakfast was great as well! I also loved the location, 5 minute walk from the town centre and from the entrance to Tintagel Castle. I will book again next time I'm in Cornwall.
The hotel accommodations are wonderfully comfortable with great attention to detail. Our room was impeccably clean, practical and functional. However, it is the friendly and highly competent staff that make this property and its pub a true stand out in the area. Make sure you take in an evening meal of superb local fare and then enjoy a magnificent English breakfast the following morning. Awesome!
Tintagel
We enjoyed our stay in Copthorne, a cosy and clean bungalow cottage which is located near to the shops, pubs, cafes, bakeries, Tintagel castle and the stunning Cornish coastline. The location of the cottage is quiet and peaceful. It is well - equipped and lovely Maggie, the owner, is only a call away if needed. It is also a great base to explore the rest of Cornwall. Highly recommended.
The location is excellent. We had a good dinner at its restaurant but we skipped breakfast because we read negative reviews about it and drove to town instead. overall, it was a quirky experience.Buy one side it is located in such a magical place but then there are several things that were not great. I would say staying one night here is enough just to be able to visit in Tintagel.
Tintagel
The room was very clean and comfortable with a sea view looking out towards the Castle Hotel on the Headland at Tintagel. Breakfast was more than adequate with juice, tea or coffee, choice of cereals, yogurts, fruit and continental style variations. Cooked breakfast, omelette or eggs benedict/royale followed by tea and jam/marmalade. It was very good.
The staff were great, we were really made to feel welcome in their pub, service was brilliant. Nice selection of drinx, and the food was outstanding, and sooo filling. Nice pub with rooms hidden away from the main road but we'll worth the detour if in the Tintagel area. Great base for a visit to the castle and town...
Tintagel
Great selection of breakfast offered, perfectly located in the centre of Tintagel , near all local pubs, restaurants, shops and only a short ten minute walk from King Arthur’s Castle and Merlins Cave. Clean and comfortable beds and a very friendly team who made me feel right at home. What more could you ask for!
Tintagel
It was well equipped with all we needed for a long weekend and was clean and very comfortable. The shower was hot and the towels were large and fluffy. The owners rang on arrival to check we had all we needed and they left us some milk and a treat in the fridge.
Tintagel
This is the best location in Tintagel, with walking distance to the Castle ruins. The staff were friendly and helpful , and the room comfortable and very clean. I recommend this hotel.
The location is super ideal to reach coast and Tintagel castle. The pub had lots of character and the hosts were very helpful and welcoming.
