With picturesque English gardens, West Lodge is a 19th-century Victorian house, offering free parking and good breakfasts. Fabulous place to stay, clean, relaxing and amazing friendly surroundings with beautiful garden. Mike and Julie were really wonderful hosts and provided great breakfast and beautiful afternoon tea. Would recommend this lodge ☺
Located in Wendover, 28 miles from Milton Keynes, Hale House has a shared lounge and free WiFi. Guests at the bed and breakfast can enjoy a continental breakfast. Cycling can be enjoyed nearby. Immaculately clean. very comfortable bedroom. The home was modern and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was delicious, freshly made. The host Susanna was very friendly. Overall I had a fantastic stay.
Bel & The Dragon at The Red Lion is a historic grade II-listed coaching inn with stunning features dating back to 1669 and possibly even earlier in origin; much of the original building still stands. Great hotel. lovely, friendly staff. Excellent room and delicious breakfast. A great touch - the free gin and the ‘night cap’ on the landing. The Dyson fan in the room was also a real bonus.
Enjoyed some of the pubs in the town plus the excellent "Olive Limes" Indian restaurant which I would highly recommend. There were buses to other local towns such as Aylesbury although the buses seemed to stop running after 7pm!
Nice little town, with an excellent local Brewery and Farm Shop opposite Tesco's. Also, craft Gin bar hidden up an alleyway near top of High Street car park. Small local market with great cheese stall, some good local restaurants and have to recommend the Cog Cafe who went out of their way to accommodate us as a large group and served delicious cakes with wonderful smiley service.
Lovely town with beautiful buildings. Some great little shops for having a good rummage in. Found the hidden little gem that is The Craftyard off the High Street which offers a tremendous array of different Gins - you are truly spoilt for choice - also beers.
The staff were ok, we felt they could have been more welcoming. Lunch was so disappointing. A ham sandwich cost £8.50 and was basic bread served with basic crisps and no salad. As we had alos booked dinner we felt that we had maybe made a mistake but our dinner was lovely and the waiting staff very friendly and professional.
Tring is a lovely small town with good eating places and an excellent base from which to explore the surrounding areas. I used it as a base from which to visit Amersham and Chesham as I grew up there and wanted to see old friends and visit old 'haunts.'
I went to Tring to be in the area where my family came from a century ago - I loved learning about the area, especially Lemsford village, which is charming and historic. There is a nice little museum, a pretty park, and a good natural history museum!
A very historic hotel with lots of character. An utterly beautiful setting with artwork to compliment. The outdoor area was beyond glorious with many Wild Peacock roaming around.. For anyone who loves wildlife and exploring outdoors- you will be most pleased!! We spotted a few rabbits hopping along the property and also the odd Robin and Wrens sweetly singing to one another.
amazing atmosphere, friendly staff and great cleanliness. Booked a second trip before i left the hotel!
