I know Twickenham well but hadn't visited since the beginning of the pandemic. Super to walk along Church Street and feel a real sense of vibrancy with al fresco diners. Walked back to the Alexander Pope via the river and a bit of road - good to be back - plenty to see and do.
A lovely place to stay and easy to get to neighbouring places of interest. First time we had visited this area but it certainly won't be the last. We visited so many places in four days and still have lots more we want to explore in the future.
As I was attending a wedding I did not get the chance to explore but with the Thames and Hampton Court nearby and good connections to central London it would be a good place for tourists to use as a base.
Rugby stadium ! We came the day before the match and in the quiet early morning was rewarded with blue skies and empty streets - great for the photos. The high street has a range of take-away restaurants and lots of sports pubs. Note - there are no stadium tours within 3 days of a match. Looking for the perfect place for a pre-game drink? the Marriot Hotel is right on the stadium. Be aware the streets are really busy for 3 hours after the game and we had to wait for over 1 1/2 hours for our taxi to arrive.
Good range of shops and close to places of interest such as Hampton Court Palace, Bushy Park etc. Nice walk along the Thames to Richmond in one direction and Teddington in the other direction. Good variety of restaurants to suit most tastes and pockets. Easy access to the centre of London via the local train stations.
A lovely place, we felt safe all the time which was important as we have 2 small children. Close to Richmond Park which is beautiful. We were there for a wedding but would have loved to have more time to explore. Hopefully we will go back one day.
Stayed there for few nights and I haven’t slept well absolutely not cleaned rooms very dirty very smelly Next door customers were homeless with respect however they were in drug and alcoholic and fighting arguing all nights every single nights I have stayed The same value of the money I have moved to travelodge I absolutely won’t recommend
Very well kept hotel with fresh decor and very clean. Friendly staff. Good sized room and good bathroom. Walking distance from Twickenham stadium. Lovely bar and garden area. Breakfast is brilliant. Secure off-road parking also a nice bonus.
Great location for a rugby fan. Good that they only served hotel guests. The bar has draft Guinness
