This was a great value. It was a very inexpensive, but clean, cozy, and comfortable room. It was in a great location and I got to walk along the promenade and the beach to see great views of the North Sea. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and welcoming and recommended a great fish and chips place for dinner.
The largest and most impressive hotel in Whitley Bay, centrally located on South Parade, the Windsor is located within sight of the sea on the scenic Northumbrian coast.

A good comfortable hotel with very clean room & facilities. Ideally located for the sea front, town centre or for the playhouse. The hotel serves a healthy breakfast with good choices.

A great little place to stay. The view was excellent. The room was just right, clean with a comfy bed. The location was perfect for us with plenty to go see and do - both within walking distance and also while we explored the area. And, of course, easy beach access as well. Breakfast was good. The parking was close and inexpensive. Would stay here again. Thanks!

I liked the beach golden sands, I liked their was a wetherspoons which was called The Fire Station, I had a lovely breakfast. Whitley Bay had a lovely walk along the beach to St Marys Lighthouse, or you could walk along the cliff edge. Toilets near beach, was toilets near lighthouse but they were all boarded up, but not too far to walk to toilets near the town. Good bus service to Newcastle cost £2 a single. Lots of nice different shops.

The beach and surrounding area are lovely, and easy to walk around. The renovation of the Spanish City is great and Valerie's tearooms are a definitely worth a stop. I have been informed it is decorated with lights at Christmas. There are various excellent Fish and Chip venues (a trip to an English Coastal town is not complete without), along with some nice restaurants with a sea view.
The walk along the coastal path through Cullercoats to Tynemouth is a must, or hiring bikes and cycling further.
I also understand a new area of food venues called The Stack is opening this year.
Well worth a visit.

Very tired looking resort some improvements made to the sea front walkway very nice beaches appear clean .
However a lot of empty properties on sea front some being refurbished but at moment gives a negative image.not much to do on the sea front nice tea shop
Small amusement area for the kids enough maybe for a day out venue rather than a substantial visit.
A l tile disconcerting was in our 3 days there we were approached 4 times by people on the street for money
Whilst walking around not a criticism of the people more a reflection of certain issues country wide even in picturesque Whitby

It's a great location to visit and use as a base.
It's a great location to visit and use as a base.
We drove from Glasgow and it was very easy to get to our accommodation.
The promenade is great for ambling and the walk right round to Tynemouth via Cullercoats is a treat.
Plenty of eating out options.
Our favourite was Salthouse Tapas in Cullercoats.
The champagne bar at the Spanish City is really nice with lovely views out to the sea.
Dog & Rabbit pub.
Pure Knead bakery - coffee and cake.
The Metro gives access to Newcastle.
Just go!

My sister and I had a lovely one night stay at York House. We had a double room booked and were very kindly upgraded by the owner to a room with a larger bed . The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable . We were going to a show in the Whitley bay playhouse which was a short walk away so the location was ideal. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice cereal fruit, yoghurt, cold meats, bread etc and then you had a choice of cooked breakfast. We would definitely stay again if we were back to see a show.
My room was very spacious for a single room and very comfortable though a little dated. (Improvements already underway)
Breakfast was delicious with excellent service from the chef. All the staff were lovely and very helpful.
Plenty of places to eat nearby and close to town centre.
I also appreciated the very affordable in-house laundry service.
Although the hotel is being upgraded , it did not impact on my stay.
Excellent location in a very peaceful country environment but so quick to get to Newcastle, Whitley Bay etc. Also perfect for staying a night before sailing from Port of Tyne. Very warm welcome from the charming owner (and helpful with directions!). Very nice room. Very clean. Good value for solo traveller but excellent value for two or three occupants.
My stay at Windsor hotel was quite relaxed, very good deal for the money, and staff was very friendly and promptly ready for any questions or drinks at the bar.
Really good location in Whitley Bay. Close to metro stop for easy access to Newcastle. Friendly staff and very comfy bed. Good value for money. WiFi was good.
