Overlooking the seafront of Whitley Bay, The Royal Hotel offers refurbished rooms with attached bathroom and stunning sea views. There is also an on-site restaurant and drinks lounge. Extremely nice staff. The breakfast is well worth getting up for. I had a sea view room which was wonderful. The beach and promenade was right out the front door and terrific for people watching and walking.

Hotel in Whitley Bay
The largest and most impressive hotel in Whitley Bay, centrally located on South Parade, the Windsor is located within sight of the sea on the scenic Northumbrian coast. Great location as we had our 2 chihuahua's with us. A very pet friendly hotel. The room was basic and clean and ticked all the boxes for what we need it for. Value for money 👍😄

Whitley Bay
In the heart of Whitley Bay, this traditional family-run guesthouse offers great prices, comfort, good service and free Wi-Fi, alongside a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We really enjoyed our stay over this weekend, the hotel and room were immaculate and Liz is a fantastic host. The measures taken for the pandemic have been really well thought out with social distancing markers, sanitisation stations before and after every touch point and with how clean the hotel is, we were very relaxed/comfortable to stay there. The location of the hotel is perfect, with a lovely park outside for our dog and the promenade/beach within less than a minutes walk from the front door. Starting out each day we were treated to a hearty full breakfast and beverages (and really nice toast!). We will definitely be back to visit again, 10/10!

Sure it would be brilliant without all our COVID restrictions. Hotel pubs and restaurants were very accommodating. Beautiful seafront. Must go to eat at Hinnies on seafront. Lovely little place. Plenty great fish and chip places. Easy to get around everything in walking distance.
Whitley Bay is a lovely place to stay and visit, I have been visiting for most of my life. There are walks along the beach, you could walk right down to St. Mary's Lighthouse (one of my favourite places), ice cream van is usually there during the day. In Whitley there are lots of places to eat, fish and chip shops, lovely cafes and tea rooms, ice cream parlours. There are also amusement arcades. The Spanish City dome has been re-juvinated and has a trendy bar and cafe there now - I haven't been in so can't comment on those. Whitly Bay is well worth a visit, lovely people too.
I haven’t visited the town for many years, but liked the variation of streets, shops, pubs and eateries. A lot of work has been carried out, and is still going on, in the area. The seafront and esplanade is very attractive.
I liked the beach the most there was loads of places to just sit and look out at the sea and plenty of places to eat. One place i would definitely recommend is the crab and Walter lovely place to eat and just chill, staff so friendly and couldn't do enough for you
With 2 days we managed to take pleasant walks in both directions along the coast (north and south). It would have been nice to take a longer walk northwards to explore. The beaches appeared clean and there were plenty of people swimming. This seems to be a good place for families with children or people who enjoy water sports or coast walking. The town centre seemed pleasant.
There are some great walks to be had along the sea front. Lots of parking in the area we were able to park all day for £3 so very affordable. There are some great restaurants in the area at a reasonable price. We walked along to the lighthouse that was worthwhile. All in all a great weekend had.
