Ritchie Guest House, hotel in Wigan

Ritchie Guest House in Wigan provides accommodations with a garden and a terrace.

I liked the set up of the bedroom and the bedding was clean and lovely. And the bathroom was clean as well. I also loved the fact I can make my tea in my room not go all the way downstairs just for a cup of tea when tired after a long journey.

Lovely little shopping area and beautiful historic buildings. Nice variety of shops in shopping centre. Lots of redevelopment going on so would be interested to go in a couple of years time to see what it's like.

Wigan certainly has an interesting history and the information provided at my accommodation was perfect for exploring the surrounding areas. Green parks and walks right on the doorstep, very refreshing and certainly somewhere I will be back to visit. A lovely shopping centre within easy reach and with friendly locals.

There is significant historical and cultural interest in Wigan, especially industrial architecture and the wonderful local museum and George Orwell library. The people are very friendly, talk to them! The town has suffered enormously from economic transition and the effects are still playing out. There are a few nice eateries and bars in Wigan but you have to seek them out. Go visit, the town needs you and you will learn a lot.

    It's a small sleepy town.

It's a small sleepy town. Although it has everything you need. But not much Indian restaurants and one caution the town get completely dead by 9 PM in summers and by 5 PM in winters u won't get anything after that it's not safe to travel alone at night.. otherwise it all great

The hotel is behind a rather grand looking building that is the Greene King pub (not used as fed by family locally). The hotel is an ex Premier Inn but boasted very good accommodation with a comfy bed and excellent bathroom facilities. Very friendly check in…overall a good hotel that was superb value and very near the motorway but far enough not to hear it!

Perfectly comfortable room. Professional and friendly staff. I liked the simple layout of the 'public areas'. I commented that other hotels should send their chefs to this hotel to find out how to prepare a hot, tasty, perfectly cooked breakfast.
