It was a very comfortable, quiet room. 10-15 minute walk from the train station. Ate at the restaurant there and had an excellent meal. I would definitely stay here again.
The hotel is 984 feet from the terminal building at Newcastle Airport and a 15-minute Metro ride from Newcastle city center. It has free Wi-Fi, a restaurant and a cocktail bar.

The hotel has definitely seen better days. Despite being somewhat shabby, everything was clean (a priority). New carpeting throughout, so the hotel is trying.
Superbly comfortable bed! Warm room (December); lots of hot water.
The bar and longe areas were nice, so I did not have to remain in my room. Good wine; adequate bar food offerings.
Reception staff lovely; bar staff less friendly, but they were also very busy. I had the impression (possibly incorrect) that the hotel was understaffed.
Superb location: a quick and well-delineated walk from the hotel terminal.
All things being said, I would stay here again because of easy-to-access hotel - airport - metro to Newcastle.
The DoubleTree by Hilton is a classic hotel, loved for years by visitors to Newcastle.

Perfect location at the airport! The staff were friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. The room & bathroom were large, spotless, & had everything I needed, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. The restaurant staff were friendly & attentive despite being busy, & the food was quite good.

Wylam is nice little village friendly locals.
The Ship advertises breakfast on their web page but we didn’t get one. The landlady was on holiday same time we stayed so wonder if that’s the reason why we never got a breakfast. We paid £87 night for small room with very old beds.
We had no shower gels or soaps and had to buy from chemist. Joanne landlady was on holiday hence reason for no breakfast which is stated on website. The room was clean but bed was very old and rickety.
The pub bar staff were very friendly but very limited knowledge on accommodation almost to the point they was frighten to say anything. I did ask if they would pay £87 night for a rickety old bed in 9x11 room.
We aldd sad o had to make our own bed every day / night had there been availability we would have gone to another property..... very disappointed would like some one to call to explain how the dearest accommodation in Wylam yet the only one that doesn’t supply a breakfast

Great little place with friendly locals and very good real ales! We Just found it a little short on eating places on certain nights so visitors need to be aware. However, the village Co-op came to our rescue!

I have family in Wylam, and always stay B&B or hotel my choice. I like Wylam. I usually park the car and walk to wherever I need to go in the area, Found the coffee shop this time, and I always find something in the Pharmacy that is useful. Purchased a thermometer this visit, which I have not been able to locate elsewhere.
I love the sound of the river rushing through the place.

The staff were really welcoming, friendly and helpful. One lady gave me a load of extra milks as I love my tea & coffee and got through them quite a bit! The room had a beautiful blue decor and a nice period fire place. A great bath with hot water running no problem. I was off to celebrate a friend's wedding at Vallum Farm and this was the perfect relaxing place to get ready. Wylam is beautiful too, especially salmon leaping in the Tyne!
Loved that the house was in walking distance to shops, pubs etc
The house was immaculately clean
We were impressed with the water filtration system as we only drink filtered water and thought we would have to buy bottled water, huge bonus
So much better than staying in a b&b or hotel and cheaper too if there are a few of you
We were visiting family who live nearby but couldn't accommodate 6 of us.
We will definitely stay here again
The location was good, as was the parking. We were on a "room only" basis so we can't rate a breakfast. We found Wylam to be a lovely village with several nice walks and excellent real ale pubs, friendly locals, and handy for lots of sightseeing.
It turned out to be more of a self-catering place, which was good for us, which gave us options about evening meals and breakfast. Cereals, bread, milk etc were provided. Large comfy bed was better than most hotels.
