Amazing location. Staff AND locals super friendly and helpful, including lots of great tips for hiking and stories about the area, including some good ghost stories. Sunday roast was a phenomenal surprise, and breakfast options hearty and tasty. There are vegetarian/vegan options at all meals FYI. Dinner: we tried something different each night and were always pleased. Rooms were comfy and beds were soft--we slept well. But, again, best of all were the people. It was a true INN and local pub pretty far out there, with a relaxed and welcoming vibe. We are spending a month in England on the trip of a lifetime, but I doubt any part of the trip will exceed the wonderful time we had at the East Dart Inn and exploring the area.

Breakfast was good - willing to cook almost anything. Continental choice good. While it is listed as Dartmoor B&B, it is upstairs in the Forest Inn - an old but lovely coach inn. They are just uphill from a marvelous small stone bridge and stream area. There is a bar downstairs but the noise was not a problem. It is a great location - near the center of Dartmoor.

The photographs did not do it justice. It was better than we expected, exceptionally clean, lots of extra's. The hosts go out of their way to make you comfortable.

It was fine for 1 night but looking abit tired. We only found out when we arrived that they don't do dinners on a Sunday evening.
The room was very big as was the ensuite with one of those wet showers where the water goes everywhere but I know they have to have those for disabled people.
Nestled amid 100 acres of parkland, this traditional English country house is perfectly positioned for exploring both the timeless elegance of Devon and the bustling center of Plymouth.

excellent breakfast and dinner. very helpful staff
lovely and friendly village. Cafe, shop, garage, pub an so much more. Also only 10 min drive from Tavistock or out onto the moor.
We only spent a couple of days exploring the local area, but managed to fill every minute with museums, local attractions, city walk and so much more.
If you want a stay with everything you need in walking distance from your door. Or you want to explore the moor and local towns, this is the perfect location.
Dog friendly and wonderfully tranquil. highly recommend.

Weather was atrocious, but that just showed Dartmoor at its bleak and brooding best, stayed at the East Dart Inn in Postbridge, wonderful staff and accommodation. We have been to this area several times over the years and hope to come back many more times as somehow nothing changes but there's always something new to see.

The room and facilities were very good.
The room and facilities were very good. Lacked a little information in the room in my experience. Friendly staff except for one lady who I think was in charge. The food was ok as I had an evening meal there. Good selection of beers and drinks. Lots of character and outdoor seating. I would have rated much higher but for the attitude of 1 member of staff. Bar staff were very friendly and helpful.

Dousland is right on the edge of Dartmoor and Burrator reservoir. The villages nearby are also beautiful with walks on your doorstep such as Bere Ferrers . Tavistock is also nearby.
The pubs such as The Burrator Arms are The Royal Oak are welcoming and serve great food.

The village of Buckland Monachorum is just outside Yelverton. Yelverton is no great shakes but Buckland Monachorum is a pretty village with a really good local pub serving pub food of a very high standard. During our stay, which was at the end of lockdown, the pub provided us with takeaway meals which was a real treat.
Great location for Tavistock, Plymouth the moors and surrounding areas. Lovely pub / Hotel, friendly welcome from the staff, nothing was too much trouble, delightful room and bathroom. Plentiful parking. Lovely food with great choice for evening meals and breakfasts. Overall had a great 3 night stay, would highly recommend The Burrator Inn and would definitely book to stay there again.
I was really impressed with our stay. We have been to the East Dart Hotel when the last owners were there. We really like how the new owners have refurbished, it is really clean and cosy. The breakfast was lovely and the staff were great. Super helpful and genuinely lovely to chat to. This is definitely more than a 2* with the new owners. Thank you! We will be back.
Perfect location, a beautiful room and loved the ability to get up and make my own breakfast and grab a coffee.
Within the room there was an array of different teas and biscuits (I’m a sucker for hotel biscuits).
