The service from all the staff was very good, both at the reception and the restaurant, they were all very nice and helpful. The room was clean, bright and comfortable. We could walk from the hotel to some great destinations.
Located on the banks of the River Ouse, The Queens Hotel is ideally located for the many shops, restaurants and bars that the center of York has to offer.

Although abounding in reminders of the past, York is very much a city for the here and now, with excellent shops, bars and restaurants, many along the River Ouse. Surrounding it are the medieval city walls – the longest and best preserved in England – and many of the gates that once gave access to the city.
Walk the walls for wonderful views of the city and towering York Minster. Standing proud on a hill, this cavernous church is the seat of the Archbishop of York, the 2nd highest position in the Church of England.
A little south is The Shambles, a narrow street with medieval buildings that now house quaint shops. Going further back in time is the Jorvik Centre, a fascinating museum showcasing the city’s Viking remains. You can even try out archaeology for yourself at the DIG excavation pits, with replica finds from York’s Roman, Viking, medieval and Victorian eras.
Other York attractions include the National Railway Museum, home to the Flying Scotsman and Mallard trains. Around a 30-minute drive away, Castle Howard is a stately home on an over 1,000-acre estate.
Leeds-Bradford Airport is the nearest airport, and there's a great range of hotels, B&Bs and guesthouses in York and on the outskirts available on Booking.com.

York is a splendid old city with many attractions; the Minster, the National Railway Museum(free entrance), the Viking centre, the list is almost endless. It attracts people from all around the world, I met and chatted with Americans, Australians, even British. York is a busy city but it is possible to find places the locals go if you avoid the main attractions. I will probably return.

So much amazing history.
So much amazing history. York Minster, The Railway Museum, the Merchant Adventurers Hall, the Town Walls are just some of the highlights. The atmosphere in the town centre and the wide range of restaurants and eateries to fit all budgets. Very easy to get around the town.

First time visiting York and what a city it is.
First time visiting York and what a city it is. We felt that 2 nights was just about right, there is enough to and see. A little pricy if you like a drink but it is what it is. Everything is within walking distance which we loved. Would visit again
We stayed in the new modern wing, bed was comfortable, good lighting and room was well designed. Location couldn’t be more optimal…5 mins walk from train station and 7 mins into the City Centre, 12 mins to York Minster. Staff were friendly and helpful. Part of the York’s famous city walls was just across the road though much of it is currently closed for maintenance work. The hotel is a historical building with beautiful wood panelling and is well maintained.
Very close to city centre of York no more than 5 minutes to get into the centre. The staff were excellent and very helpful. Room was very nice and clean. Also provided a bed and bowls for our dog. If you want on-site parking book early because they only have about 8 spaces. If we stay in York again would use this hotel.
The leisure facilities available provided a lovely addition to our break away. The staff were great and very helpful. The location of the hotel was in walling distance from York City centre.
The king-sized bed was comfortable and a good addition to the room.
City centre location. Faultless. Noisy at times but we didn’t mind. There to explore. York is just stunning. Very quirky hotel. Love the decor. The entrance. The uniqueness. Pink bar downstairs amazing cocktails. Warm room. Pillows beautiful.
Located on a quiet street on the edge of York city centre, this is a quite, receptionless hotel with good basic facilities, and the room was clean.
