Agia Pelagia
Offering Aegean Sea views, the family-run Απεραντο Γαλαζιο offers self-catering accommodations with spacious, furnished balconies. Free WiFi access is available throughout. The apartment couldn't have been better - all as described and seen in photos and even more. Beautiful sea few from the large balcony, peaceful location. Clean and new furniture. Parking available. Agia Pelagia beach, which we liked a lot, is close (easy by car but if by foot please note you have to go down to the road and afterwards up...) but island's other beaches are easily reachable since roads are good and distances short. You definitely needs a car since otherwise moving on island is impossible. Two sunbeds and umbrella Euro 10 - this was the standard price in all beaches we went (July 2020). Nearest bigger village (the biggest in island) Potamos is abt 6km from Agia Pelagia (good bakery, 2-3 restaurants, few shops) but all villages are small, even Chora. Agia Pelagia has one supermarket, looks small outside but go in and you will find all necessary, few cafes and restaurants by the beach. Evenings on island are a bit cooler (windy island) but this is only positive since days are hot (I think we used only once air condition during the week in the room). All in all we had very pleasant, peaceful and beautiful holiday!
Agia Pelagia
Only 492 feet from Agia Pelagia Beach, 9 Muses offers self-catered accommodations with Aegean Sea view from their furnished balcony. I booked 9 Muses because I loved the name, but ended up finding an excellent hotel as well. Maria (the owner) is born and bred in the island and her reccomendations, tailored to our style, formed one of the best holidays I've ever had. Once you are there, you feel part of a family rather than a hotel guest. Kithira is worth it, and so is her hotel. Thank you!

I've been going to Agia Pelagia since a little girl and have watched its transformation from a simple fishing village with nothing to do after 6:00p.m. to an active community with many restaurants, music, friendly people, deliciously real Greek food and dance. A celebration every summer evening. Great organized beach (Umbrellas, lounges & service).
Found that most - but not all - beach bars rented their sunbeds with parasoll for EUR 10, regardless of wether you were a customer to the bar, alone, came late in the afternoon, it was windy with no swimming possibilities, no other customers etc. And that goes for all of Kythera (with one exception). I don't mind paying for shade, a chair and WC, but EUR 10 for 2 hours when I have just eaten a salad in their bar! The beaches are free, and many wonderful, so I just hope for the bar keepers sake that they figure out how to get me and others as their customers. Basically Agia Pelagia is a good base camp, but you need a car to explore Kythera and visit all the wonderful beaches around the island.
We loved it all! The owner and staff at Anesis Hotel were friendly, helpful, and kind. The hotel was comfortable and clean, breakfast was delicious, the nearby beach was delightful, the parking was easy, and the village was charming. We hope we can go back someday - the hotel and area were just what we needed for peaceful, lovely scenery and relaxation.
For Kythira this is a beach town that actually has somewhat of a village fealing to it. It is still very small and only offers a few restaurants and beach bars. But the bars offer quality coffee, cocktails and food. The beach is very nice and quite big. Mixed peddles and sand. Great swim. There were two places for parasols at the beach. We went only to one ones and had to pay a ridiculous amount of 10 Euros. Way too much and for me enough reason to not return.
Kythira is an amazing island, quiet and has so many beautiful beaches. Nice places to eat and would definitely go back! Potamos is a nice town to go and have lunch, dinner walk around the square and enjoy some live music. We had dinner at Panaretos. Beaches overall are great, loved the ones in the south.
While on the northeastern side of the island, it was only 30 minutes to beaches/attractions on the west coast and middle of the island and less than an hour from the southern coast/attractions. The beach at Agia Pelagia was very nice and nor terribly crowded with modest to moderate surf.
All good. Efficient, friendly, clean, value for money. Excellent breakfasts prepared by the owner with delicious fruit also grown by the owner. Lovely pool. Just what was expected and required.
