The best thing about the hotel is the location, several beaches in walking distance and the city center by bus. Cleanliness was OK, the beds were comfy enough and the breakfast was good.
Located on the northwest coast of Corfu, just 8.7 mi from Corfu Town, Hotel Philoxenia is found in the small beach resort of Ermones.

Lovely family run hotel. Great value, excellent location. Breakfast included was delicious, pool had excellent views, as others have mentioned the mojito are delicious, and overall great experience.

Great food on offer, super helpful and friendly staff, lovely pool area, good facilities in general..very relaxing.
Not much to see in local area - you need a car!
Taxis to Corfu town and airport around €25-35.
The food is great but you wouldn’t want to eat there every night so you would need a car/taxi to get you alternatives.
The spa options are very pricy so not sure if they’d get that many guests.
It’s not a 5 star in my opinion but a very nice 4 star. 5 star properties should not have damp in the room on walls (peeling paint) not should smell like sewage. It’s seems quite a package holiday venue - bookable with Tui and BA holidays etc .
Get yourself into Corfu town and have a look around the back streets, fortress and into some of the wonderful restaurants on offer there!
Kommeno is not near a beach but they do offer buses on some days.

A great place to stay, hire a car to get around as it is a bit of a steep walk to get public transport. Some good local restaurants/tavernas close by but also in the gouvia/dassia/ypsos areas, lots of places to eat also with sea views and a good variety.Spiros and his wife very friendly and always willing to help in any way whilst enjoying a greek coffee. TIps for trips or organising transfers/taxis not a problem.

A peaceful, friendly location on a hill above a pretty beach. Some watersports available at the beach but these do not spoil the tranquil atmosphere. Sunbeds and umbrellas available-seem to be run by the local hotel but no charges were made and the beach is open to non residents. Sandy beach with lovely, clear water. Great for small children as very sheltered and calm. Up on the hill above, a few lovely tavernas (Apovrado, Panorama and Sea View: a small taverna and mini market that sells basic supplies and is run by two lovely, friendly ladies). All of the staff we met in restaurants, tavernas etc. were warm and welcoming. Easy bus ride to Corfu Town (from the main road about 20 minutes walk away) or to surrounding beach resorts with more facilities if required. Lots of steps to the beach and a little hilly around the resort so possibly not great for those who would struggle with this. Some of the most stunning views I've seen in Greece and hard to beat for peace, quiet and relaxation.

15 minutes into town- this was second part of our holiday so are in Corfu town most nights. Cabs cost €25 one way and take 4 people.
We only in our hotel in Kommeno didn’t venture out as too hot. But private beach here is lovely. Only for hotel guests. Lots of super yachts moored in the bay.
Beautiful location - stunning views - wonderfully relaxed and comfortable - Spiros, his wife and staff were welcoming, friendly and genuinely helpful. Breakfast was ample and just enough choice (though no cereal). Four very different tavernas within 10 minutes walk, plus the 5-star hotels that welcomed non-residents. You do need a car unless you genuinely just want to stay by the pool or find your way down to the beach (another long set of steps!), but driving round the island is fairly straightforward.
Nothing - except the challenge of 112 steps from the road to the apartment, so you do need to be reasonably fit!!
My words won’t do justice to how wonderful our stay was. From the moment we checked in the staff was exceptional. The hotel is beautiful and very elegant. Pool areas, beaches and garden are perfect for relaxing, the pool is heated and big enough to swim and not only plunge. There is a Tennis centre in the sister hotel and worth trying out! The gym is also rather well equipped. Spa is excellent too although the indoor pool is on the smaller side. Restaurants are top notch with great selection of vegetarian options.
Great view from bedroom, Helpful professional and polite staff, Free shuttle bus into Corfu Old Town, Pool and Beech areas, overall it was extremely well run. would definitely stay again. Made extremely welcome on arrival and the hotel staff went the extra mile for our special occasion. free access to facilities at neighbouring Grecotel resorts. spacious, well equipped, clean, comfortable rooms.
From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by the staff who went out of their way to make our visit as memorable as possible. Everyone that works there is incredible ,and service is always with a smile. The hotel is super clean and very well maintained , the plus is that it has outstanding views across the bay from out hillside accommodation .
Very good and clear communication from the host
The view to the bay
Terrace to spend evenings
Price/quality ratio
Very good restaurant just 10 meters away, a bit pricey, but worth it
Discovered you can go down to the beach just stairs and steep hill down (5 minutes walk)
Very calm and relaxing place
good breakfast, great pool, Wi-fi close to the pool was great, the view from my room exceeded all my expectations. To get the hotel take bus 7 (blue line) from the center of Kerkira to town Kommeno.
