The studio (and the entire property) is stylishly designed by the architect owner, a woman who has thought of everything. Everything works, there is a generous supply of chocolates, biscuits, cooking stuff, wine, soap, shampoo etc. etc. You wouldn't even have to bring your own toothbrush. I spent a lovely evening sitting on the spacious 1st-floor terrace that overlooks the pool and garden, with a view over the roofs and the lovely church of the village and on to the mountains. The pool and garden are beautifully lit all night. And it's wonderfully quiet. - When I arrived at the house (the name is not advertised outside, but the house number 11 is displayed in black), the large metal gate was shut and I noticed I didn't get an email with instructions. If that happens to you, go to the booking.com app, where there's a phone number to call under Check-in Details. - Do make the trip to Rhamnous Archaeological Site from here (even if archaeology is not your thing) - it's absolutely beautiful, on a promontory overlooking the sea.

From the moment we arrived at the apartment in Nea Makri, we felt genuinely welcomed. The host was incredibly warm, thoughtful, and attentive—always available if we needed anything. One moment that really stood out was when she offered us a ride into the city, just out of pure kindness. That level of care isn’t something you come across often, and it made our stay feel more like visiting family than booking accommodation. What impressed us even more was her honesty and desire to help us save money. When we mentioned we were thinking about staying an extra day, she encouraged us to rebook through Airbnb so we could get a better rate. That little gesture spoke volumes about how much she values her guests’ comfort and overall experience. The apartment itself was stunning—fully renovated, spacious, and filled with natural light. The design was inspired by Greek island life, with calming earthy tones, beautiful artwork, and a refreshing breeze that flowed through the space when we opened the windows. It felt peaceful and serene, like a true escape. The living room had a massive 75-inch smart TV that was perfect for cozy nights in, and every bedroom also had its own smart TV, which was a great touch. The kitchen was beautifully equipped with everything we needed, including an espresso machine and welcome snacks that made us feel instantly at home. We were especially impressed by the water filters installed throughout the apartment—not only for drinking but in the showers too. It’s not something you find often, and it made a real difference. Having a washer and dryer was also a huge plus, especially for longer stays, and the high-speed Wi-Fi was flawless throughout the home. One of our favorite features was the complimentary use of two mountain bikes. We took them down to the beach, which is less than a kilometer away, and also explored some beautiful nearby trails.
