Skopelos island is one of the most precious spots that I've seen so far. If you like peace, tranquility and cats this is the place to be! It won't take long to dicover the whole island but you will have quite a few favourite places so boredom is no issue! On Skopelos you'll find places like Glossa or paths in the mountains with breath-taking views on the island and the sea. There are heavenly beaches like Glysteri (my favourite so far), Panormos, Stafilos, Milia or Kastani and sweet quiet site like the 3 pines or Agios Ioannis. You may find huge bee colonies diligently producing the famous honey of Skopelos, fishes and other creatures is the sea that are most bizzare and interesting and thousands of stones of all colours imaginable on the beaches. Something you have to be aware of is the deceleration in general and most of all on the streets. Let it sink in and as soon as you are accostumed to the rather rough street conditions you may feel perfect relaxation! The hospitality is overwhelming even though you feel the exhaustion and longing for peace and solitude of the local people at the end of holiday season. And last but not least the food is absolutly delicate for meat, fish and seafood lovers. It is the perfect place to enjoy life, peace and let go of haste and stressful thoughts!
small town but full of charm...October is end of season so a lot of places shutting for the winter....a lovely place to visit and the bus ride to Lautraki is fabulous .you get this bus to see mamma Mia church ... food is FABOULOUS
Lovely town full of character. Typically Greek with good choice of restaurants, quirky shops and felt safe to wander around day and night. Most accommodation on steep hillside and can be difficult to find but well worth the coin to get beautiful views. Sunrise to die for! Only negative is the town beach is small and was dirty. Such a shame for an otherwise lovely town. Didn’t have time to explore other beaches but am sure they are better.
Skopelos town is not on a stunning beach ...but those beaches are a short car or bus ride away from here.Nevertheless, Skopelos Town is a beautiful spot. It is evident that the locals and perhaps some foreign investors as well take great pride in keeping their town clean, friendly, charming, and pretty. It is a real joy to wander through the streets of town, passing by neighbors chitchatting on the sidewalk or seeing some tourists (and locals) enjoying some traditional Greek music as they clap and dance along. I also thought the waterfront promenade is very idyllic, with dozens of restaurants spilling out onto the sidewalks to take in the mild evening air. The waterfront comes most alive after sunset, and I am so very glad I chose to visit .
Skopelos is a very nice island. It seems to be one of the greener Greek islands. Village is charming and quite lively. Beaches are OK. It's a good mix between shops/restaurants/bars/holiday activities and relaxation. It seems not to be one of these overcrowded summer places. We really enjoyed our time there. Transports are OK. We did not rent a car and used buses around the island.
Skopelos is a very beautiful island. The pine trees almost touch the sea! It is a quiet island, so if one is looking for a late night party reverie, this is not the place. It has numerous nice beaches, a lot of them easily accessible by bus, if one does not have a car. There are excursions organized by tour offices in town to some beaches that buses dot not go to. Limnonari is one of them, and we are glad we took that excursion. The only gripe I have about the beaches is the fact that they are almost fully covered by sunbeds (most likely illegally for that extend), so they seem busier than they actually were. This fact also takes something out from the natural beauty of the place. Speaking of law breaking, we heard that the most expensive hotel in the island has enclosed a beach to make it private, something totally illegal, but probably accommodated through some bribery. It helps also that this beach is one of hundreds in the island, so it is not really missed! Talking of negatives, let me add here the fact that they seem to clean only a narrow area in the town, leaving the rest totally untouchable by the cleaners. On our daily walk from the place we stayed to the town, we had the most disgusting encounter of a broken garbage container with half of its garbage lying nearby on the street! And that was by the beach! And, it stayed in that state throughout our week-long stay! Enough with the negatives. We had some nice food in the island, most notable was the dinner we had at Kyratso's, towards the end of the town seafront. Also notable is 'Magerako', a gourmet-like restaurant close to Agrina, albeit a bit more expensive than most island restaurants. I left for the end the highlight of our trip there: the excursion to Alonissos (a close-by island) with Argo (the boat); Eleni, the captain and the sailor(!) were excellent hosts that made that day memorable!

Everything was just amazing! Staff was very helpful and most kind, they have helped us by giving some tips on what to do and where to go. As for the facilities, the room/studio was just astonoshing, it was even better than from the pictures and the view even crazier. If ever returning to the Skopelos, we are definitelly going to stay at this same accomodation! Highly recommended!
