Location is great, pool is perfect, staff is extremely nice and the breakfast is exquisite!! The rooms are great, and the resort offer a perfect moment of rest, tranquility and relaxation. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back!!

The neoclassical Menelaion Hotel is a 1935 renovated building situated in the centre of Sparti. It offers a swimming pool, stylish rooms with LCD TV and a restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine. I came to Sparta to see the statue and tomb of Leonidas, the ruins of ancient Sparta, and the archeological museum. The Menelaion is perfectly situated within easy walking distance of all of them. It was also easy for me to take a stroll out of town and walk through local olive groves with a great view of Mount Taygetos. From what I could tell, it was easily the nicest hotel in Sparta. The entire facility was very nice and the rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast is great. The best part about the hotel is the staff. They are warm and friendly and do whatever they can to make your stay enjoyable. One of the staff members even called my hotel in Athens to help me coordinate transportation. If (hopefully when) I return to Sparta, I will stay at the Menelaion.
