That was for the first time we´ve had All inclusive in Croatia. Hotel Arkada is in a very great location in Stari Grad - ca 1 km near centrum but with several beautiful approaches to the sea.

Stari Grad is a cute little town, not too many tourists, but still busy all day and long in the night. Has few really amazing restaurants with tasty fresh seafood and fair prices (for the island). It is close to the ferry and big shops like "Tommy". The city center port is crowded with fancy jachts and nice boats 😊
Unfortunately, we have found that the people in the town of Stari Grad are not very nice with the tourists and the city lives from them. It would be good to change this because only prices will rise, the quality of service will deteriorate.
I enjoyed this beautiful historic city with lovely atmosphere, vivid and friendly locals! I couldn't have enough of walking through the mysterious narrow streets and exploring ancient architecture. The city where times long gone are meeting with presence in a perfect harmony. Stari Grad has a plethora of superior restaurants where you can savor the local specialities. The prices are quite high but if you choose wisely (with a help of Tripadvisor for example) you won't regret at all :-). I can recommend you to try buzara, sea bass and some of domestic wines - I loved dessert wine Prošek the most! Don't hesitate to visit Eremitaž or Marko. As for travelling around the Hvar island it is possible to go by bus which stops at Stari Grad, Stari Grad ferry, city of Hvar, Jelsa or Vrboska. However we had to ask a bus driver where the bus stop is (next to Studenac market) cause it wasn't easy to find. However the buses went usually on time and were comfortable. It's also possible to rent a boat but it's quite expensive, so it's more suitable for a bunch of people than for a pair. I think that it's best to travel across the island by car which we might do next time to visit some of the most beautiful beaches which are located mainly on the southern coast. However we loved Stari Grad beach much - you just have to be quick or lucky, the good spots (I mean those of more natural look with pebbles and less concrete) are often occupied :).
Gorgeous little town. I think because of Covid it seemed quiet but this was perfect for us. I imagine it’s normally busier. But the harbour is gorgeous, beautiful bars and restaurants and plenty to pick from. A couple of different super markets for all your needs. Lots of little areas to sit at near the water to relax and swim. There is also good connections to other places. A comfortable coach will take you to Hvar for just 27kn which is around £3 and of course the ferry port isn’t far from the centre so you have access to the other parts of Croatia. For a ferry to Split it was around £5 pp and took just two hours.
Would not recommend. You do not expect open window out of bedroom to find rubbish. Piled old bottle s. Expect when breakfast included. To have a breakfast. No yogart, no cereal. No eggs. No rolls only plumb jam no cake. Not even a continental breakfast.
Starigrad is a gem, a beautiful traditional fishing port with renovated pedestrian seafront, medieval stone walled maze of streets, a few quiet bars, restaurants, ice cream parlours plus bakery, supermarket, street market and butchers. For those who like history there is a museum and of course the Unesco World Heritage Starigrad Plain. A choice of small beaches is a stroll away, or hire a bike, scooter or a boat for the day.
Stari Grad
We love everything about it. The space was spotless clean and location was most ideal, just minutes away from the town. We are so happy we chosel to stay in Stari Grad as opposed to Hvar old town. Vanessa was most friendly, she gave us a lot of great tips and recommendations on where to go and amazing local restaurants to visit. Highly Recommend her place, we would definitely stay here again next time we are in Hvar.
ARKADA provides nice view over the sea,, and is well located. Having a car, it is easy to reach the city or Hvar, not too far (no idea by bus). The swiming pool is large and very convenient. Service is good, and people at desk are very friendly and efficient. Stari Grad is an old and very nice city,. There are good restaurants . Authentic place compared to Hvar , which is very expensive and full of tourists.
Stari Grad
The hotel is gorgeous and the rooms are palatial. We wished we had booked another day but we had reservations in Hvar. Make a point of going to Stari Grad, which is a charming village, and stay at Villa Apolon. Sitting on the veranda with a glass of rose and watching the boats come and go is magical, especially at sunset. The hotel is right on the water and the staff are superb -plus, it’s a great value.
Service was impeccable and the hotel manager was very accommodating, giving us tips on what to visit and arranging for transportation. The hotel facilities include a large swimming pool overlooking the sea, which was definitely the highlight of our stay. Breakfast included a wide range of savory/sweet options, plus hot drinks and was served at the restaurant, with some outdoor seating.
Stari Grad
I totally fell in love with this studio apartment, it had everything I needed and was light and airy and spacious. The location was great in Starigrad and close to the bus station to get to Hvar town easily and also within reasonable distance for the ferry from Starigrad to Split. Would defo recommend for solo traveller or couple. The best but was English books to read : )
Stari Grad
We loved our stay with Irena and Mario, they are fabulous hosts. They organised a taxi to collect us from the ferry and any other transport we required. On arrival supplied us with local advice and brochures on what we should do and see in Hvar according to our interests. Their accomodation was clean, well presented and they had anticipated the needs of the traveller.
Stari Grad
Everything was just perfect. The owner is very kind and offered us a lot of informations about the property and about the city. The property was very clean, with all the utilities. It is located near city center, around 4 mins walk by foot. Just a great property to stay in Stari Grad and all the Hvar island. I truly recommend it.

Stari Grad
The location is just 5 mins walk to the beach and 10 mins to the center. The garden is beautiful with view to the harbor. The hosts are lovely to talk to and they gave free transfer from the apartment to the port.
