The people was very kind and helpful. The room was perfect with a balcony in front of the sea. The location is perfect and they organized us a special sea tour with Matteo, a very kind guy. The breakfast was healthy and tasty. The decoration is perfect. Our overall experience was superb, this is the best choice at Stari Grad.

Air con everywhere. All new. Great wifi. TVs in lounge & both bedrooms. Great shower. Second loo. Enormous outside space with chairs, recliners, hot tub and views over the harbour and waterside cafes that I challenge you to drag yourself away from when the town lights come on in the evening! I felt like a rock star staying here with everything you could dream of having on holiday! Great service too - we locked ourselves out on the balcony (remember to keep your phone with you!) and help arrived very quickly. No fuss or bother. By no means last on the list - Stari Grad is an absolute gem. I had heard a lot about Hvar Town but found Stari Grad better in every respect. Even the bus service between Hvar & the catamaran port to Stari Grad is reliable, cheap & only 35 minutes total journey.

Stari grad is a beautiful place and the people are very friendly.Lots of very nice bars and restaurants to choose from and lots of little streets to explore.,Public transport is cheap so its easy to check out other places not too far away.We found Taxis to be expensive so try and negotiate a price before you get in.A very relaxing, laid back place, just right for a chilled out holiday.
We could not of enjoyed Stari Grad more if we tried. The food was delicious, the people were incredibly friendly, and the architecture was beautiful. If I can recommend anything, it is to visit Blue Doors. The food was amazing and all the Owners family recipes, the wine we selected (which I believe was the house white) was made next door to the restaurant. All the staff were lovely and we chose this location for our final meal of our holiday.
A peaceful and beautiful port, quieter then Hvar, but still with excellent restaurants, nice landmarks and a lovely feel to it. Melting Spot for coffee. You can't get any day boats to the smaller islands from Start Grad- you (unless you pay to do a private excursion) so you have to travel back to Hvar to do this.
I really love this place! I've been there three times (first time 12 years ago). But I have to admit that prices in restaurants have gone mad this year. I understand inflation and everything, but I've been to Rome before visiting Stari Grad and food in Roman restaurants was 20-40 percent cheaper! Stari Grad (and Hvar island as a whole) is gorgeous! But it's not Rome! And I'm pretty sure it's not only my opinion because I was there a year ago at the same time (mid June), and this year restaurants were half-empty and I saw a lot of people walking away after looking at the prices on the menu.
It's very quiet and small. A good breakaway from the many tourists! However transport is a challenge. Only taxis available and a bus. Taxis charge €50 to get to Hvar town where all the boat tours etc depart from. So you either need your own car or you need to catch the bus. In June the bus only ran at certain times which limited transport options from Hvar back to Stari Grad to exorbitant taxi prices! Information is not shared easily. One has to hunt everywhere for information. I do not believe I will be returning to Hvar. The boat tours are also over-priced for what you get.
The harbour and the little streets around it was super great eating places never to crowded it was september, something happening each night, not expensive depends what you enjoy food wise..Just a lovely vibe.
Stari Grad
The apartment was clean and well equipped, the outside terrace is in shade and adds to overall comfort. Additional bed (sofa) for the kids was very comfortable too. Position in quiet area, which we liked. Stari Grad is well worth staying and it has its own charm and beauty, in different way than island's most visited town of Hvar which is always more crowded. The host is very friendly and helpful, welcome drinks and gave us a lot of insider tips. We'll be back for sure.
Stari Grad
Casa delle Rose is an old stone house in the middle of Stari Grad. It has all the necessary facilities, it's comfortable and it's beautifully decorated. The house has an Atrium situated in a center of the house, connecting the living area and kitchen with bedrooms upstairs. We really loved staying there and would definitely come again. We also want to thank our great host Amela for her warm welcome and for giving us great tips about visiting Hvar.
Stari Grad
Maria was very welcoming and helpful. Accommodation is excellent, short walk to centre and bus stop to Hvar Town. Room great, comfy bed, table and chairs, great shower. Balcony with table and chairs. Selection of beach mats and towels and bikes. We cycled to Vrboska and Jesla. Washing machine - we put washing on and went out, returned to find it hanging up and dry. This really is an excellent place to stay.
Stari Grad
The hotel is gorgeous and the rooms are palatial. We wished we had booked another day but we had reservations in Hvar. Make a point of going to Stari Grad, which is a charming village, and stay at Villa Apolon. Sitting on the veranda with a glass of rose and watching the boats come and go is magical, especially at sunset. The hotel is right on the water and the staff are superb -plus, it’s a great value.
Stari Grad
I loved the apartment I stayed in! Views across the valley and a short 5 minute walk to town. Absolute value for money and a completely peaceful place to stay. Kitchen with oven, stovetop, dishwasher, and all the equipment needed to cook with but also so close to town you could go there for a meal. The host was warm and welcoming and offered me rides to Hvar and others as well as use of their bikes.
Wonderful hotel where the staff can not do enough for you. Perfect distance from nearest town which is a beautiful, historic harbour packed full of charming bars and restaurants. Breakfast in the hotel was excellent as was service to the swimming pool. If you want a relaxing stay on the beautiful island of Hvar, I could not recommend this hotel strongly enough.
This property was so beautiful!!! I loved everything about it - 10/10. The pool area was just fabulous and the breakfast was excellent! I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a chilled trip where you can just relax by the pool or sea. The town Stari Grad itself is quite small but still very pretty and has some nice restaurants
The environment and the hotel/pool area are very beautiful. Everything is new and the interior is stylish and inspired by nature. Rooms are big and very beautiful. You can borrow wooden bikes that are perfect for getting around Stari Grad. Pick-up from the ferry is included - do not forget to book though!
Stari Grad
I really enjoyed my stay (although it was only for 1 night) at the Adrienn Apartments. The room was cosy and clean and had a nice view from the balcony. The host was also very informative and helpful. Great location, 5min walk downhill will get you to the beach and 10min walk to the city center.
Good location in stari grad. Clean rooms and nice terrace to sit outside. Free parking options. Good value for money. We cycled to Jelsa for a day with the mountain bikes, which was a lot of fun to do. Along the way you will come across many nice beaches. The mountainbikers where included.

So nice and helpful owner, Dragan. So clean and spacious apartment with the biggest ever balcony which I never had before. Great views from the balcony, easy parking and the most important so close to the beautiful beach at the beautiful small church and to Old Stari Grad .
Stari Grad
Great location: close to the city center of Stari Grad, also very close to the car ferry. The host is very friendly and helpful. The apartment has everything you need for a short or long stay. Free parking is a great plus because you have to pay everywhere inside Stari grad.
Stari Grad
Great hosts, optimum flat for 2 adults and 2 kids. Location is great to enjoy the balcony, 7-8 minutes walk to the center. I would recommend to anyone visiting Hvar without a doubt. Stari Grad is the best location in the island to stay, MI Apartments is great to enjoy it.
Stari Grad
The location was incredible! The house was tastefully decorated and had everything we could need. You can immerse yourself in the Croatian culture by stepping out the front door. Our family of 4 had plenty of room and a wonderful stay. Thank you!
