Uluwatu in peak season was not what I expected.
Uluwatu in peak season was not what I expected. We had avoided Seninyak and Canguu for that reason however Uluwatu was very busy and expensive. Unfortunately it is over touristed and I wouldn’t return for that reason.

Uluwatu is great for surfers.
Uluwatu is great for surfers. The views are good but you must bear in mind that to get to any beaches there is a walk down multiple stairs and up again. There are no footpaths to walk so you must walk via the roads which can be busy with cars and scooters. We were a group of six and two of us took tumbles. Uluwatu is truly stunning: its main temple offers breathtaking views and a one-of-a-kind Kecak dance. The region is packed with postcard beaches, amazing restaurants and upscale bars to have a cocktail at night — including the world-famous "El Kabron" beach club. That said, I feel like some other areas in Bali are more welcoming for solo travellers while offering a bit more bang for your buck. But if you want to visit the birthplace of surfing on the island (and try surfing in a unique riff), enjoy authentic Balinese culture and taste great food, then Uluwatu is the right choice, at least for 2-3 nights.AntónioPortugal - Scored 8.08.0

Unfortunately we only stayed in Uluwatu for 1 day which didn't give us the opportunity to see a lot. We rented a scooter and drove to Melasti Beach. It is beautiful although not ideal for swimming. We regret the fact that many places comes with this bars with swimming pools inviting people to party ... to us it destroyes the beautiful nature. We also visited Bingin beach to see the sunset. We had a lovely diner there - fish BBQ while sitting in the sand ... absolutely amazing.

Ulawatu had a chilled out vibe.
Ulawatu had a chilled out vibe. It is easy to get around by calling a cab very cheap and we did not wait more than 10mins for a car to arrive. Lovely beaches, many beach clubs also. Amazing 5 star restaurants! This is a great spot for people of all ages to visit. It was abit like the Bondi of Bali. We loved it.AAnonymous

Despite the hotel is very big, the atmosphere was calm and quiet, the staff was super nice and kind and the restaurant inside offered good meals, especially the Double Ikat, the one dedicated to Balinese cuisine, excellent! The breakfast was excellent as well, offering both continental and eastern options.

Wayan, the manager, is an excellent host, super hospitable and warm and helpful with any questions or requests. I'll definitely stay here again when I come to Bali!
