Small remote area with lovely ocean views and landscape. Good for a relaxing time outside of the city, and a nice stop along the west coast. We drove along N-59 and enjoyed majestic 360 degree views of the mountains. There were other activities available but we just relaxed and enjoyed good company.

Carna is fine if you just wnat to go there for a day or two to chill out and do not plan to go anywhere else. But if you do wish to do some sightseeing, then be aware that it takes a bit of driving to get from Carna to any of the places you might wish to visit.
“The Carna Bay Hotel is a great place to stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the food is outstanding. We had a large family gathering here with a big group dinner which was just terrific. Delicious breakfast included, with many choices! The people who work here are very accommodating and hospitable. At your fingertips is the Wild Atlantic Way and the beautiful Irish coast.”
“The welcome was warm, the food was great and we were extremely comfortable. The greatest selling point of this family run hotel has to be the surrounding countryside and the nearby seashore. It is spectacular, almost unbelievable in its beauty.”
“Very peaceful and relaxing location. Caitlin was an exceptional host. The breakfast (and coffee!) were the best we had in Ireland! Caitlin's home is spacious and clean. She is very kind and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. There is a pub in the village with delicious food and live music. The drive to the property through the mountains provides exquisite views of Ireland. Very good choice for a relaxing stay close to other cities and sites!”
