Boasting a garden, The Coach House features accommodation in Crosshaven with free WiFi and sea views. The holiday home has garden views and is 45 km from Castlemartyr. Val was very considerate as a host. She even left pastries and fruit for us to enjoy after our 4 hour flight. Will miss the owl's hooting waking me up in the morning. Would surely book again!
Enjoying beautiful harbour views, Robin Hill House B&B in Cobh offers high-quality accommodation in a tranquil setting. this was by far the most beautiful accommodation on our trip! everything was perfect - from arrival to departure! the rooms are furnished with a lot of love, the whole house has a wonderful charm and Deirdre is the i-poppet on top :-) unfortunately we only had one night, but we'll come back!
Situated in Minane Bridge, 43 km from Castlemartyr, Willowhill House features a shared lounge and free WiFi. The bed and breakfast offers a continental or Full English/Irish breakfast. Clare and Chris made Willowhill House feel like a home from home from the minute we knocked on the door. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to make sure we were happy with everything. We stayed in the Mews which is a separate building next to the main house. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis but this can be self catering if you wish with a fully equipped kitchen and dining area downstairs. Our accommodation upstairs was beautiful. A bedroom, ensuite shower room and a very large sitting room with large balcony overlooking their wonderful walled garden. We were there for 6 nights and each day our room was cleaned to a very high standard. Breakfast was in the main house around one large table where we could chat to the other guests staying there. Clare was excellent at introducing everyone. Breakfast was lovely, especially Chris’s homemade strawberry and oatmeal yoghurt with fresh fruit from the garden. A variety of options for cooked breakfast were available so I could have something different each day. Clare has lots of suggestions for things to do and places to eat. Very rural, very quiet but just a 15 minute drive into Kinsale which was perfect for us. Next time we are over we won’t bother looking at the horrendously expensive places to stay in Kinsale, we’ll be back to Willowhill. One abiding memory was the evening we had a power cut ( an unusual occurrence I might add) but Clare invited us for a cup of tea in their kitchen (they have an Aga) and we sat and chatted by candle light until the power came back on.
Situated in Cobh in the County Cork region, with Cathedral of St. Colman and Cobh Heritage Centre nearby, Renovated Townhouse in Centre of Cobh features accommodation with free WiFi. So having never traveled solo before, and being a big enthusiast on the history of the Titanic, I wanted to stay in Cobh but fancied some self-catered accommodation. I chose Rahilly Street Townhouse and I was not disappointed. The location is ideal! You walk out the front door, turn left and everything is within sight and walking distance. St Colman's Cathedral is behind you and the bells chiming really adds to the charm of Cobh. The bed was comfy, the room size was perfect, lots of wardrobe space and a hair dryer, which is nice if you're travelling hand luggage and want to save space. The bathroom was clean, modern, fresh and wonderful. The kitchen/living room was amazing! You look out the window, and there's the cathedral. The kitchen is updated with modern facilities - kettle, microwave, toaster, cutlery and fridge/freezer. Whether you order in or cook for yourself, is up to you but if you're there for less than a week, there are plenty of places to eat out every day. In the manual, Gilbert's Bistro comes recommended, and I second this notion. Plus, it's attached to the building so you can't miss it when you enter/leave the premises. I wish I could've stayed longer, but I have sworn to return to this townhouse. It was great for a solo traveler, and it'll even make perfect for a couple travelling.
