When you check out of the room go and have lunch downstairs. The Turkey and ham lunch is to die for . You will be set up for the day. Then you can stroll around Dalkey village. There a couple of lovely art galleries and shops to browse in. The best pub is Finnegans.
What a lovely little place. The main street (Castle Street) is an absolute joy, boutique little restaurants and cafes alongside niche shops. I was there on business but will absolutely be coming back as a tourist.
I have visited Dalkey on 3 occasions and each time have found the people friendly and welcoming. You are spoilt for choice in terms of eateries, from small independent cafe's, pubs, wine bar and restaurants. On weekends live music can be found in the pubs and wine bar.
Dalkey renowned for fab restaurants and pubs. Village feel but very trendy. Lovely coastal walks from village and cultural venues within the village. A great place and easy access by train from Dublin city centre.
nice food, comfy beds,clean....some of the decor could do with a makeover,eg.paint peeling off ceilings and mould in the bathroom.staff need to be more efficient..long delays and excuses given of being busy..waited half hr next morning for coffee and a scone and was brought a fruit one instead of plain.had to reorder twice the night befor for 2 glasses of wine as the guy seving seem to have completely forgot about us.
Lovely area bus terminus so handy for airport and the hotel. Grounds well trimmed and lovely. Close to Hill and park and village but steep hill on return journey. Transport erratic for local buses to village and train. The bakery is lovely for home-made cakes. Dalkey beautiful spot and ideal for walkers with delightful walks to Dun Laoghaire and Killiney area as well as historic Martello tower where James Joyce wrote Ulysses.
The room was very clean and comfortable and the greeting was friendly. It was very centrally located in beautiful Dalkey. Water and tea and coffee was provided. Parking was available outside the house. Overall ideal for what we needed and would stay again.
the location and the upkeep of the hotel is fantastic , all of the staff were extremely helpful and polite
