A former manor house dating back to the 18th century, this ivy-clad residence has been totally refurbished to provide the warmth of a country home with the style of a luxury hotel. The hotel is right in the heart of town, yet it has the most lovely park from which to enjoy breakfast or a cocktail or some fabulous people watching. Had a wonderful stay, enjoying the town, the music, and this gem of a hotel.

Staff were exceptionally helpful. Food was really good and every consideration was given to my partner's allergies.

Ennis turned out to be the best location from which to launch a leisurely trip through the Burren and to the cliffs. Ennis itself is a sweet medieval town that is probably underrated but what can you do when you are surrounded by natural wonders? Staying at the Old Grounds Hotel was a treat and I wish we had the name of the lovely girl who played her harp as we walked down the street from the hotel. I will never forget her voice.
The hotels were very accommodating: Woodstock/The Old Ground/ Temple Gate. People were so kind and met my every need. I loved the food as well!!! It is very interesting to see the historic sites and learn about the history of Ireland. Being by myself self at times, I found the Tourist Information Centre very, very helpful!! It was easy for me to get around the town and to take the bus to various other towns close by!! As a single person, I always like to find out what is in a city and then explore those areas. Always go to a Pub and listen to the music!!
Ennis is a charming, clean town, rated as the "friendliest town in Ireland" and we found it to be. It also has won the "Tidy Town" award. It is a very walkable town. We stayed at the Temple Gate Hotel which we would highly recommend. Although we enjoyed many of the local pubs, the pub at this hotel was cozy, and well run. There are two larger, more regular shopping centers in town as well as the smaller shops, most notably the Irish Woolen shop.
A great smaller city...I learned it very easily, everyone was very helpful. I will be back ! The hostel Rowan was the BEST ! They were very helpful, booking my day trips, helping me navigate the town.
Cute little town to stay in if your looking to break up a long drive or be close to the airport. Had some good bar food at the Knox Pub and were able to walk everywhere we needed from our B&B. We were only there for one evening after seeing the Cliffs of Moher and before flying out of Shannon Airport.
A charming town which could serve as a base for exploring. Great place to take care of last minute needs before long flight home from Shannon. A music fest was going on and we really enjoyed the events we went to. Old Town restaurant was excellent.

We had two adjoining rooms for us and our three teenage children. The room decor is gorgeous. The bathrooms were fabulous. We had a shower and a tub both in one of the rooms. Large counter with two sinks. Towel warmer. Just a beautiful hotel. Breakfast was excellent. We all enjoyed the mechanized pancake maker. Beds were super comfortable. Parking was free and plentiful. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We just wish we had had more time there!

Excellent location, excellent value. The room was clean, and comfortable, except that the bed was short. The continental breakfast was tasty and more varied than I expected. The owner was helpful and very pleasant. Just note that there is not always someone on duty like a large hotel would have. I liked the quaintness of the place, and for 50 euro/night, I felt we got more than our money's worth.

We were there with our 3 adult children on a golf trip so this hotel really worked well. They had a cute little bar and restaurant on site which was great after golf. The rooms were clean and the staff was great. We really enjoyed the ability to walk all over Ennis to all the little pubs nearby. I would highly recommend this little gem. It is also a very easy ride to Shannon airport at the end of our stay.

Large room and large bathroom with tub/shower. Large bunk bed in room was a nice surprise! Great value and super comfy for family of 4. Wish I would have known how nice the room was, I would have stayed longer. Ennis is a good base for exploring the West.

The location is the best part about Queens Hotel - bang central and close to good pubs and restaurants. I also found it to be one of the quietest rooms I have ever stayed in. I was happy to sacrifice any decent view (bits of wood metal and bricks) for silence

Kieran and Kathleen were wonderful hosts. So helpful with maps and suggestions - like the Burren Perfumery - or outstanding tip to enjoy the Cliffs of Moher in lovely evening hours after crowds are gone. House location in Ennis is perfect and short easy walk!

Good hostel for this part of the world. Not a lot of atmosphere, but that's common UK and Ireland . Staff were excellent, helpful and friendly. Good kitchen facilities, above average breakfast- scones, cereal, toast, cereals, granola and blackberry etc

The staff were so friendly and helpful. Gave us great info and a map on Ennis, and really made us feel welcome. Couldn't give them enough credit! The food and hotel were also great, but the staff were the best part of the experience.

Sound advice from the owner as to where to eat locally. Staff were welcoming and looked after us well and Ennis lived up to its claim of friendliest town in Ireland.

We stayed a total of five nights at Ardilaun Guesthouse (3 at the beginning of our Ireland vacation in early October and 2 more at the end of October prior to our return to the USA). Ann and P.J. were excellent hosts. Upon arrival to the Ardilaun, on both stays, we arrived earlier than expected and each time we were made feel welcome and checked into our room without any problems what-so-ever. They served wonderful full Irish breakfasts and provided excellent service in every way possible, including providing us with super helpful information about things to do & places to see in Ennis, County Clare, and Ireland in general. The guesthouse facilities were exceptional in every way. It is a very clean and well-kept facility, managed by very friendly, hospitable folks, and is also in an excellent location that is easy to find and has great proximity to the Shannon Airport and travel routes to area and regional destinations. It is a great value for the money; one of the top Bed and Breakfast establishments in the Republic of Ireland.

This B&B and the owners John & Evelyn were just delightful. Not everyone who books a B&B has any interest in their hosts, but one of the reasons that we do B&B's, especially in places far from home, is to get to know folks in the place we are visiting. John & Evelyn were hospitable, gracious and available. After a couple of days there, we had made new friends. Thanks, J&E, for sharing your lovely home and garden with us.
