There was a very nice complimentary breakfast with coffee maker and all! The beds were extremely comfy, and since it was cold they even gave us some sheets to get rid of the duvet.

The staff couldn't do enough for us. The room was enormous, the food was delicious. The only problem was the lighting. It was low and the bed lamp switch could only be turned off by moving the heavy night table, stretching your arm way back behind it and turning off a wall switch. Also, no ventilator in the bathroom. Lacking a window, this would have been appreciated. Other than these two small things, everything else was absolutely splendid.

There Once Was a Gem on the Shannon…
Limerick revels in one of Ireland’s most iconic views – the River Shannon curving past King John’s Castle, a 12th-century fortress that could have come straight from a Grimm fairytale. Frank McCourt wrote ‘Angela’s Ashes’ about his childhood here, and his former school is a museum about him, set amid elegant Georgian architecture in the Newtown Pery district. Equally attractive is the custom house, now housing the Hunt Museum's eclectic collection of art and artefacts.
The 12th-century St Mary’s Anglican Cathedral is the city’s oldest building used daily, while St John’s Catholic Cathedral has Ireland’s tallest spire. The coexistence of the two is symbolic of the 17th-century accord between Jacobites and Williamites, supposedly signed on the Treaty Stone.
The Milk Market is a bustling hub of local produce sellers, and the shops of pedestrian Cruises Street are surrounded by restaurants and bars offering great nightlife, including some where you can jig to traditional Irish folk tunes.
The city is also sports mad. Munster Rugby play in Thomond Park, while the Gaelic Grounds ring with the sounds of hurling and Gaelic football supporters. Golf courses, a racecourse and greyhound stadium complete the picture.
Booking.com’s Limerick accommodation includes luxury hotels with spas and swimming pools, and cheap apartments near Shannon Airport.

15 Lower Shelbourne Road

Prisvärt boende en bit från centrala Limerick. Lugnt område, lite krångligt att hitta, det finns nämligen ett 15 Shelbourne AVENUE alldeles i närheten. Google maps hänvisade mig först dit, eftersom den rätta gatan egentligen heter Lower Shelbourne road. Bra rum och det fanns två badrum alldeles utanför de 4 rummen. Stort kök, rent och fint. Har man ingenting emot att bo 15 minuters promenad från pubar och affärer är det helt klart värt sitt pris!

Rummen var väldigt fina och välstädade och sängarna otroligt sköna. Läget i Limerick var också utmärkt. Vi fick tips på en bra kött-restaurang som låg nära, Hamptons Grill, vilken vi absolut kan rekommendera vidare. Atmosfären passar nog vuxna bäst dock :)

Att hitta ett hotell med rätt standard. Till slut. Men priset är för högt. Rätta storlek och bra sängar men vissa saker som är standard i Sverige fanns inte, hårtorkare till ex.
