Set in Skull in the County Cork region, Rivers Bend Cottage features a patio and garden views. We loved the rural location. The views were relaxing and the local town of Schull was a hive of activity with pubs, retaurants, a well-stocked supermarket and great variety of shops including a suberb book shop. Farmers' Market on Sundays is yummy.
Located in Dunbeacon Durrus, Dunmanus View offers accommodations with free mobile WiFi and sea views over Dunmanus Bay and the Sheep's Head Peninsula. Without doubt the best holiday house we have ever stayed in - anywhere! Absolute 5 star experience from start to finish. We arrived on a Saturday evening on a beautiful sunny day in July and what was to be a glorious week of weather in West Cork. The views on arrival were spectacular! We decamped and enjoyed a wonderful sea food platter which we had picked up in The Fish Kitchen in Bantry washed down with some nummy prosecco in the sunshine! Those views...those views. The house is like a home away from home. Sparkling clean, in fact, double cleaned due to COVID, which gave much comfort. Anna the housekeeper is great, nothing a problem, not that anything was needed and a fountain of local knowledge. Facilities are top class with everything high end from the Orla Kiely mugs to the Brita filtered Kettle. All utensils are there and all cleaning products dishwasher tabs, washing powder etc. Starter fire pack is there for your enjoyment too...no need for any oil heating! All rooms are fantastic, living room, dining area with wonderful views of the bay and gorgeous sun room to enjoy your coffee after a relaxing breakfast. Tea lights everywhere to enjoy in the evening while cosying up to the multi burner stove, after watching those sunsets over the bay. If sunny, the house is flooded with sunlight. Divine! Bedrooms are very spacious and mattresses very comfortable. Easily fit in additional camp beds for kiddies if needed. Location is fantastic, all beaches, hikes, villages for pub grub and a creamy pint, all easily accessible. Quality of food in this area is well known! Blairscove is a wonderful and special place for an evening meal and our taxi man Jack was gas craic! We found his number in the Dunmanus View comments book. This book also has any information you could possibly need. In sum, I could not recommend Dunmanus view highly enough.
A lovely little place for a Christmassy weekend away. Great walks round the coast and up Mount Gabriel. Lovely pub called Hacketts, the crab sandwich there is amazing, perfect for winter to sit by the open fire. Also there are some great little independent gift/homeware shops in the main street.
the views the people the pubs and restaurants were all great and I would highly recommend a visit to O'Reagans pub we had a fab time in there. For food the best place was the Bunratty cannot wait to go back
I used to come here as a child and we used to stay in the caravan park. It was a trip down memory lane. What’s not up love about Schull. The pier walk is great. There are also plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in Schull. The scenery is great. We didn’t get a chance to go to the planetarium this time but it’s on our agenda for next time.
Loved walking around town and going into the shops. The atmosphere in pubs was great. Fantastic buzz around the town as regatta was on. Had a lovely trip to Crookhaven and had a delicious lunch in Sullivan’s pub. Walked the beach at Barleycove
