Wonderful place set up by Akash Marwaha.. warm, hospitable, pet friendly, and some brilliant fresh food made by him and Raj - the chef. Most definitely a place to spend quality time to unwind and breathe in the clean mountain air.

We had a truly memorable stay at Riverwalk (Tirthan Valley). The room was well maintained, very organized with the amenities like cloth wardrobe, a book reading lamp, work table-chair and king-size bed with neat and clean bed sheet with warm blanket. Our room offered breath-taking mountain valley and river view beauty with water floating sound 24x7. A special thanks to manager Mr. Rakesh & team for the wonderful hospitality and special care for our first wedding anniversary. We would strongly recommend Riverwalk to all upcoming new tourist at Tirthan valley.

The property is beautiful and has everything that you’d need to unwind. Hospitality is unmatched by Dilsher. Do not think twice before booking it-it’s the best!

If you want actual peace , go fo it. Food is like home . It's not rever side , rever side stays are crowded. This is 15 minutes away from rever but nice.

I had a fantastic stay at The Woods; in fact, it was the highlight of my trip to Himachal. The property is lovely, with lovely rooms and bathrooms, and sitting on the wooden verandah having tea or a meal looking at the mountains is a real delight. Ramakant and team made delicious homemade meals upon request, all at a very reasonable price. They also have a lovely carpeted dining room that I ate in when eating dinner after dark. As mentioned by other reviewers, the property is literally at the start of the walk to the Great Himalayan National Park gate, which is a fabulous walk along the river, including a couple of waterfalls (one along the route, the other a short additional detour; ask Ramakant for his hand-drawn map!). For anyone not familiar with the area (I'm not; I'm visiting from London, UK), I had been recommended to visit Gushaini but I didn't realise that Gushaini village itself isn't a great place to stay; you will almost certainly want to stay at a homestay guesthouse in the surrounding area. With this in mind, "The Woods" is possibly the most convenient option; it's just 2km from Gushaini; a taxi will cost INR 200, or you can walk, as I did (it's a slightly uphill walk from Gushaini to The Woods; downhill walking back to Gushaini). Many of the other guesthouses are much further away. As a visitor from overseas, I have been finding it difficult to find a place of peace and quiet, with no cars honking their horns, no trash, and few people. I found places like Jibhi, Kasol, Manali etc. all a bit disappointing for this reason. The Woods in Gushaini / Ropa is one of the few places on my travels in Himachal where I found tranquility; it really was a place where I could enjoy nature and relax. I highly recommend a stay at The Woods. Great location, great property, great people. Many thanks, Ramakant and team, for an experience that I will always remember.
