Very good stay overall. The location is excellent—just about a one-minute walk from the Shri Mookambika Temple, which makes it very convenient for visitors. One thing to note is that the property is actually known as “Yamuna Vihar,” not “Yamunna Boarding and Lodging.” This name difference caused a bit of confusion during our travel. Also, it’s advisable to pay an advance booking amount to ensure the room is confirmed. Overall, a comfortable and convenient place to stay.

Property is spacious but looks a bit outdated - might be due to dry season with dusty surroundings. Pool is available but not deep, and not clean - though it's anyways not included if one selects one room for two people (not a whole villa). However, room itself is very clean with nice design, and contains 2 comfortable beds (for 3 people), useful wall-mounted table along with a sink + chairs and bedside nightstands. Kettle, drinking water, towels and hot water + soap/shampoo/toothpaste are provided. Bed linen is very fresh and smells great. Orchard is surrounding the house with cashew and other trees. Food might be ordered: both lunch (rice/dhal) and breakfast (poha) were tasty. Location is a bit off the main road, but NH 66 is just 5-7 km away, and place is quiet. Wi-fi works OK.

Kollur is a charming temple town set against the lush backdrop of the Western Ghats, making it an ideal blend of spirituality and nature. The area around the Mookambika Temple is peaceful and walkable, with scenic views, a calm river nearby, and a relaxed pace of life. (post monsson period till February/March) Basic shops, eateries, and accommodations cater well to pilgrims and travelers, though nightlife and modern amenities are limited. The pleasant climate, greenery, and tranquil environment make Kollur a refreshing stop for those seeking a quiet spiritual getaway. Trekking to the Kodachadri Hills is an excellent experience, and jeep services are readily available for visitors who prefer to reach the summit without trekking

Ideal rooms for a group of people. You'll get hot water.

Ideal rooms for a group of people. You'll get hot water. Whereas: The most concerning part, however, was the bathroom. The water coming from the taps/shower was visibly dirty and unhygienic, making it impossible to use the facilities. For the price paid, I expected a basic standard of sanitation that was simply not met. I would not recommend staying here until they address these serious maintenance and housekeeping failures. Except one staff, rests were not'receptive to our requests.

Kollur is a single street temple town.

Kollur is a single street temple town. Crowded and messy near the temple, with a narrow road that serves 2-way traffic and pedestrians. The town is dusty, and crowded - especially on weekends and special days at the temple. Visit just long enough to visit the temple, keeping atleast 2-3 hours for the temple visit.

The highpoint of the visit to Kolluru is the spiritual energy one gets from the darshan of Shree Mookambika Devi. It is a beautiful temple nestled in the foot hills of the Western Ghats, by the side of the Souparnika River.

No need to wait for direct bus from Mangaluru.

No need to wait for direct bus from Mangaluru. You can catch first bus to Udupi from the Kolluru bus. It will take about 3 hours plus timing. Plenty of accommodation available at walking distance for season times better book before you go. Souparnika is neat and clean now. Kolluru always attracted me for the peace atmosphere. Compared to earlier visit, Food quality improved all around. Darshan also comfortable now, swamis guide properly. Unlike many temples there is no greedy shown in and around the temple that is great relief.
