Tarapith is a pilgrimage for hindus.
Tarapith is a pilgrimage for hindus. Moreover, there are Ekachakra/ Birchandrapur, the birthplace of Nityananda Mahaprabhu just 12 kms. south-east of Tarapith. Another place is Maluti (in Jharkhand), 20 kms. west to Tarapith, famous for Mouliksha Devi templeand other temples. Lalateswari (at Nalhati) is a Shakti-peeth. It is 25 kms. north to Tarapith.

Good for visiting tarapith temple.but weather is too hot and humid-april,may,june.Shoud leave this month out-also saturday and sunday very crowded during amabsya-hard to give pujas.other temples likeishkon,jagannath temple are there ,very nearby.santiniketan is only two hours journey.altogether a good place for religious tourism,but from july to march-comfortable month to travel

The place is conveniently located from Kolkata. Tourists with moderate budget can have an enjoyable stay. There are many hotels and the charges for stay, puja and transportation are reasonable The people here are generally helpful and honest

Myself and my wife went Straight for the darsan of the deity...
Myself and my wife went Straight for the darsan of the deity which we had nicely. Also the hotel fellow arranged a priest for darsan whose charge was reasonable. The place is safe to roam around even at night. We would love to visit there again.

Ok not value for money. No room service.
Ok not value for money. No room service. Old and useful bed sheets. Blankets were terrible. No operational swimming pool. Unhygienic rooms unhealthy breakfast only oily poori and sabji full of water and few pieces of potato. Better to stay away from this. May banquet fine for marriage booking. Not for stay..A lot improvements needs to be done.

If you are believer of "Ma Tara" then you can go there and...
If you are believer of "Ma Tara" then you can go there and visit the temple and worship. Otherwise there not much to see.
You can go to other temples as well. but in Tarapith there nothing else.
Also, there is Masanjor Dam and Barkeshar Power plant which you can go for making Tarapith your base as you will not find good accommodation(may vary person to person) in those places.
