This 4-star hotel is centrally located on Akureyri's pedestrian street, by the Eyjafjördur Fjord. Incredible bargain! This was in a great location, with beautiful views, and an awesome happy hour. No complaints and we would absolutely stay here again. Think this was one of the best hotels for the price during our stay in Iceland. The town was beautiful as well. Wish we would have stayed here longer!

We were pleasantly surprised as to how lively and active Akureyri is, given its modest size. There was enough to see. more than enough to experience and give us a good sense of an important city in a stunningly beautiful country.
Akureyri is a great little city. The fjord Eyjafjörður is beautiful and I stayed at the Skjaldarvík Guesthouse which was right on the fjord with horses and a great dining area. There's plenty to see in Akureyri when you walk around. There is history and nice neighborhoods, a good downtown area for food and shopping, and a few small museums and church you can visit. There are also plenty of water activities in the summer - boating, whale watching, etc. - and things to do in the winter as well. Grimsey, a small island nearby that is partly on the arctic circle and easy to get to by plane or ferry.
We arrived from the north by car for an overnight stop in the town. The Gardens sit on a hill and are first class and relaxing, night & day. Saw the Church when taking a different walk downhill. Town has many interesting older houses if you are an architecture buff.
Great city. During my stay there were having concerts and activities in the city. Shopping and restaurants abound in the area. Ability to take short drives to other cities nearby or go whale watching. Lots to do here. Plan at least 2 days.
Loved it and felt very safe as a solo senior traveler. Had great food and the people couldn’t have been nicer. Walked everywhere even after dark. Local bookstore has books in every language imaginable so stocked up for grand kids One warning Iceland is expensive but I’d go back!
Akureyri wasn't really anything special, but the side trips we took from there were great-the ring of the Tröllaskagi peninsula was beautiful. They have an interesting motorcycle museum in Akureyri and Iceland's oldest car museum half hour away.
The location of the hotel was perfect. The clean tidy rooms, well equipped. Breakfast, there was a very wide variety of foods for everyone. Bar for the evening. It is a family run business and All members of staff were very polite and friendly. Hot tub and bath robes available and we did use it :). Would definately recommend this hotel and yes we would definitely come back for another stay. Thank you all for making our five day stay extremely pleasurable.
This quaint little guesthouse right outside of Akureyri provided a comfortable sleeping place while traveling the Ring Road. Because it is just outside Akureyri, it provides the perfect setting and opportunity to see the Northern Lights. They even offer to wake you up when the Northern Lights pop out. The breakfast spread was the best I’d seen, complete with scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, cheeses, and more.
Our room was very spacious and had the most amazing view of Akureyri. It is only a new build so the facilities were new, very clean and very comfortable. It had a big shower and good water pressure. Thorinn our host was so very friendly and helpful. It is called a hotel but it is really a very nice B & B. Great continental breakfast and great service. Would highly recommend this place.
Capsule hostel is a lot of fun. The novelty of staying in the sleeping pods made me feel like i was in a spaceship. The hostel staff were fantastic, friendly and super helpful. Location is excellent right in the middle of Akureyri and all the main shops and restaurants. The place was also very clean and they had a great breakfast buffet. Would definitely recommend or stay here again.
The hotel is located in Akureyri's main street. There is no concierge or breakfast service, but you have available coffee and tea and other kitchenette facilities, plus some tables in the entrance hall. The room was very comfortable, with all the required amenities. The wi-fi worked fine. A very good bakery where you may have breakfast is located next door.
Once we had found our room, all was good. The room was very nice and the guest house was located close to shops and restaurants in what must be Iceland's hippest town. Breakfast was served at a hotel a short drive away. That may not have been convenient, but the buffet was excellent and the staff here were friendly.
If you are in Akureyri and looking for the coolest Hotel in the area, choose this one! Perfectly decorated with just the right vibe going on. We absolutely loved it. The staff was really nice and helpfull and the breakfast was incredible. We will definitely be going there again.
nice location, close to bus station, church. friendly staff. the rooms are okay, pretty comfortable beds. showers are good too. soap and napkins in the toilets/kitchen. equipment of the kitchen is good. also nearest tour pickup is hotel Kea, its very close.
Peaceful and beautiful location with view of fjords. Great breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Close to some beautiful sites and town. Super comfortable bed and cosy room. Hotel has a little bar and a telescope and hot tub. Really good value.
This was our second stay here. It was exactly as we remembered it. Our room was clean and large enough. Breakfast excellent and the lamb in the restaurant simply superb. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Hope to return again some day.
It was close to the shops and restaurants, right downtown and a few steps away from the harbor. It was nice that it was right above the bakery, we got breakfast there in the morning.
Good location, the hotel is in the center of Akureyri. Breakfast is good. Not a new hotel but can see the details of the hotel, overall rating is good
The location is very good for access to the cathedral, restaurants and bars. The view over the fjord is perfect and the breakfast was good
Beautiful location with a view on Akureyri. Nice terrace. Cozy. Convenient for making your own breakfast. Close to the city.
The location was great for seeing Akureyri and getting to restaurants.
The space, the cleanliness and the view from the balcony was on point. Loved our stay, would totally book again when traveling to North of Iceland.
Clean. Central. Simple. Comfortable. Quiet. Good bed. Good shower. Everything I needed was in the room.
