Set 16 mi from Kirkjubæjarklaustur in the South Iceland Region, 25 mi from Fagrifoss, Hvoll Guest house features a barbecue and views of the mountain. Systrafoss twin falls is 15 mi away. The host was very friendly and upgraded our room. The shared kitchens have everything you need and the shower was amazing! The next morning we had the bad luck of a flat tyre about 500m from the hostel. We drove back and the host already notice us. Her husband helped us immediately and within 15/30min we were back on the road again! Saved our day!! Many thanks and best regards!

This property is located 14 mi from Kirkjubæjarklaustur and 30 mi from Vík. The Holiday Houses offers accommodations with free WiFi. Kirkjubæjarklaustur
Eldhraun Holiday Home is located 20 minutes' drive from Kirkjubæjarklaustur. It includes a well-equipped kitchen, free WiFi access and a private terrace with lake and mountain views. Remote location is absolutely a deal breaker. Sorroundings look like the end of the world or place from the Death Stranding gameplay. House equipped with almost all you can imagine.Theres large common space with open kitchen, and eight bedrooms. The only drawback is a shared bathroom, as with bedrooms come only ensuite toilets. So it is more a place for a family than group of friends.

Located 3.7 mi from Systrafoss waterfall, Efri-Vík Bungalows offers accommodations in Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Kálfafell is 19 mi away. Each bungalow comes with a private bathroom and towels. adorable and beautiful location. staff was so nice.
There was a lot of noise. We weren't on the main building and when people walked in the hallway you got a lot of noises. Also the fan in the toilet turned on every time you turned on the lights and it stayed on for 15 minutes after.
We stayed in Kirkjubaerjarklaustur and made day trips to the glacier and to black beach. If you have a car, it is a great place. The scenery is beautiful and it is a good location to explore the south eastern part of the island. It is a bit of a drive for groceries and I suggest you buy them in Reykjavik or at a larger town on the way to the south.
Cute small town with a pretty waterfall at the top of the hill. A couple of restaurants and a small market were easily available. The hotel we stayed at was outside of the town itself but was an easy drive away. The town was also close to many beautiful sights, including Vatnajokull National Park and Diamond Beach.
Great location, especially if you are in Iceland only for couple of days, this would be one of the best choices. From this location, you can make several amazing trips to the surrounding locations. The most interesting places offered by southern Iceland are reacheble from this area as a "base camp".
A small settlement on the south coast of Iceland between Vik and Jokulsarlon. Excellent location if you driving the ring road or want to stop for the night on the way to Jokulsarlon. Two petrol stations, a small supermarket and a couple of restaurants. Many interesting places to visit very close by - Fjadaragljufur Canyon, Kirkjugolf Basalt columns, Dverghamrar Basalt Columns, Stjornarfoss Waterfall and Scenic Green Lava Walk.
We loved the unusual landscape and the history of the place in relation to past volcanic eruptions. Fjadrargljufur canyon was beautiful even though you can't hike the canyon anymore. We wished we had more time and an appropriate 4-wheel drive vehicle so that we could have visited Fagrifoss and the lakigigar craters.
Kirkjubæjarklaustur
This was the last self-catering stop on a trip around the Iceland Ring Road. The house — on what was originally a farm — has been beautifully renovated. Cooking facilities were good, and there were lots of pots, pans, crockery and cutlery (this was the best-equipped kitchen area by far of the four self-catering places we stayed). The bathroom was spacious with an excellent shower. Living area and separate bedroom were comfortable and stylish. Good communication with the owner. We’d certainly book again if we re-visited the area.
Kirkjubæjarklaustur
This property was my groups favorite during our 10 days in Iceland. Its super cozy and fit my group of 6 just fine. The house is actually 2 houses. You have to go outside to get to the other one which my friends loved the privacy. One house has 2 bedrooms with 4 beds and a bathroom with shower. The main house also has 2 bedrooms with 4 beds, a loft, bathroom with shower and kitchen/livingroom. I went in January which required 4 wheel drive. One of our cars got stuck at the base of the driveway briefly. Luckily we found a shovel.
Kirkjubæjarklaustur
The property was perfect for south iceland we saw the northern lights right off the hottub. John the owner was very nice he was very helpful and responsive .The check in process very easy with lock box.The facilities was very clean .we were a family of 8 that travelled we were very comfortable the insulation of the house is very good .We we’re very warm in winter I would highly recommend this property cleanliness is 10/10 location is perfect especially for northern lights .Hot tub was a bonus and also laundry .Amazing place
It was the best hotel on our week long trip on Iceland as a couple. It has charm, the rooms are beautifully designed and it has all the things you may need (nice bluetooth speaker, coffee machine, magazines...). Rooms have a very nice view in the green hills, so there is an overall feeling of wellbeing and relaxation. The restaurant is very quite and the food was very good. Home made pastry was delicious. Also, very good value for money and close to nice highlights on the south of the island.
Kirkjubæjarklaustur
Lovely cottages located in an amazing surrounding just one minute drive from Fjaðrárgljúfur. Very peaceful and quiet. Coffee/tee maker available. Every cottage has a llittle terrace to enjoy the evening on. The stuff was unbelievably nice and kind and definitely made our stay special. The food (dinner and breakfast) was simply delicious - for me the best grilled lamb I've tried on Iceland
Kirkjubæjarklaustur
Location, Location, Location ! Amazingly close to hiking trails, waterfalls, landmarks, fuel, food. The tree lined forest with a waterfall adjacent the property and river in front makes the location incredible. This is usually a $300 a night for a comparable facility in the USA but less than $100 per night in Iceland.
Brilliant location to stay if you want to explore the south and south-east side of Iceland. Very friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms, great breakfast! Also, a really good place to see the northern lights as it's located in a small village with not too much light pollution.
Kirkjubæjarklaustur
A bit off the main road on a gravel road(typical for Iceland), a nice pond with plenty of birds within view of the Hostel. Noce facilities with well appointed kitchen. Beds were very comfortable and entire facilities were clean.
Kirkjubæjarklaustur
Nice location, good environment. In the night you can hear the sound of the nature in Iceland. The host was very nice to prepare the sofa bed before we arrive. There are cooking oil, salt and coffee powder in the kitchen.
Kirkjubæjarklaustur
- comfortable - very well decorated - brand new - even though it is very remote you feel lonely and this is what one can look for when coming in Iceland
Kirkjubæjarklaustur
Definitely best breakfast during our stay in Iceland. Nice dog to play with. Parking just in front of the bungalow.
Relatively to any other hotel in Iceland, the room was big. Breakfast is nice. Shower room is nice.
