Located in Sleðbrjótur in the Austurland region, Hlíðargarður features a balcony and river views. The property has garden and mountain views. Very cozy and comfortable house surrounded with amazing views. House was clean and it was enough place for a group of six people. It felt more like home rather then other guesthouse or hotel. After staying there we continued drive along road 917 to north where you can find spectacular views of the valley and mountains.
On the banks of the Fossá River just 19 mi from Egilsstadir, this hotel offers bright rooms and cottages. A homemade breakfast including jams, bread and lamb pâté is served each morning. We booked 4 nights. Helga gave us a great room, like a small cottage, on top of the main building. The kitchen was adequate. We prepared all our meals there. The place was spotlessly clean. Very hot water. Comfortable beds. Beautiful and peaceful location. Very quiet. And she even washed clothes for us. Would definitely stay there again.
Surrounded by nature, these countryside cottages offer views over the Lagarfljot River. Each has a fully equipped kitchen and furnished terrace with a BBQ. Egilsstadir town center is 19 mi away. Cozy and warm! With all the cooking wear you may need. Quite and mid of nowhere. Lovely little house.

Located in Hrafnabjorg, Litlabjarg Guesthouse features a garden, shared lounge, BBQ area, and free WiFi. Featuring a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a terrace. By far the best accomodation we've had throughout our whole trip! It's a very small guesthouse with only 5 rooms + 2 shared bathrooms in an amazing remote setting. The roofed terrace is perfect for an evening beer. The location is great for exploring Borgarfjörður Eystri (puffin watching) and key attractions of northern Iceland (Dettifoss, Hverir, etc.).
