The setting is beautiful. The village is very pretty and there are some extremely nice and helpful people there including those who work in the Rent and Go Ski Hire below the telecabina lift. There are some nice cafes and everything is reasonably priced. Would say it is good for intermediate skiiers - the blue runs are higher up the mountain and skiing down into the village can be tricky but for intermediates there are plenty of red runs with some steep bits and one black. The cafes on the mountain are superb and there is night skiing two evenings a week with apres ski at Dosson. The only problem is transfers. The skiflyshuttle has changed its times and whilst it is good for those arriving from England, the return journey now misses all the check in times for the UK flights.
Andalo is a good ski resort especially for beginners, intermediates and families. It has developed into a ski resort with modern facilities. Many of the hotels and apartments have swimming pools and other facilities to help weary skiers relax in the evening before heading out to eat at one of several good restaurants or cafes. On the slopes there is free wifi and a variety of cafes and restaurants across the slopes. Getting there is easy as it's only about 20 miles from the A22 motorway and flights to three Milan Airports and Verona all around 2-3 hours drive away. Getting around is also easy as there are 3 circular ski bus routes around the village covering pretty much everywhere tourists stay.
We loved Andalo; it was the most picturesque place ever. Loved our hotel, the shops, the restaurants, the Xmas decorations, the locals, the mountains, the views, the skiing, the ski instructors, the gondola ride, the go-karts... everything!
Picturesque village with great skiing. A small resort compared to some others, but has a good variety of slopes for beginners and intermediates. Family friendly town with pleasant bars, restaurants and other activities for non skiers.
Andalo is the perfect skiing holiday. I've tried many ski resorts over the years, but I return to Andalo now every year. It's that picture perfect ski village with lots of bars, shops, restaurants. Then up the slopes an awesome array of reds and blues. Something for everyone. Great lifts. Longer queues at the weekends for lifts but nothing to crazy. Midweek quieter perfect slopes. Also quietens down in the afternoon, there can be times when no one else is on the slope with you! Good skiers should head to the left side of the mountain for some long super reds. Great restaurants up the slopes too. About 2 1/2 hour drive from Bergamo airport, start March the best time to go
Nice town in mountains, very good ski site, especially for beginners and mid level skiers. For advanced skiers - the site is slightly small. To get to other ski sites - relatively long car trip needed (~1 - 1.5 hours)
