The reception staff was friendly and very helpful for information. Very friendly breakfast staff, varied dishes, continental breakfast, excellent coffee. Not to take anything away from Brindisi, it is a marvellous...

Not to take anything away from Brindisi, it is a marvellous town in it's own right, and with the train station there, it was perfect for hopping on a train and visiting other towns in the vicinity. Found an excellent street, Via Conserva, full of cafe's, restaurants and bars, where you could sit, enjoy a snack, a meal or just a drink, listen to the music playing, and watch the world and his dog go by.

We stayed 4 nights in Brindisi without any hire car.

We stayed 4 nights in Brindisi without any hire car. This was long enough, as the town is not that big. However, it is well placed to visit other spots via the train. We had a day trip to Lecce, which is a much bigger place with much more to see. We also did a day trip to Bari for some shopping. The local trains are very cheap and quite comfortable. No ned to pay extra for the InterCity trains as they are not much quicker for these two destinations. If arriving by air, there is a bus that runs to/from the airport and Brindisi train station. However, you need to purchase a ticket (EUR1.20) from the shop in the airport before boarding or the coffee bar at the railway station. The service runs every 30 minutes and takes around 10 minutes. We arrived late and just hopped into a taxi to take us to our accommodation. This cost EUR25. I can recommend the La Nassa Pizzeria restaurant in Brindisi. Apart from pizzas they have a good selection of seafood dishes. The mussels must be tried. The house red wine was only EUR11 for a bottle and very good.

Brindisi is often overlooked by travellers but it is a beautiful city with lots of nice places to eat and drink, picturesque churches, an excellent museum and roman relics. Our best meals were at Trattoria La Brasciola run by Mr Rocco. We stayed for 5 nights but next time will stay longer.

If you like exploring a city by walking, it's an excellent choice for you. You are within 10-15 minutes walk to most sites of interest in Brindisi if you stay in the historical centre. And it's a good base to use for visiting the surrounding area..Lecce, Oria, Otranto, etc. I especially enjoyed walks around the harbour and taking a ferry across to the Monument to the Sailor, having a coffee & pastry at Valentino Café just behind the monument.

This is a small town with a lot of history.

This is a small town with a lot of history. The walk from the train station to the waterfront takes about 20 minutes and is very easy. At the waterfront, there are a ton of restaurants. There were no ticky tacky shops that we saw but there are peddlers who are allowed to come into the restaurants to sell their trinkets. We were almost in the off season so it seemed pretty quiet but the views of the Adriatic Sea are amazing.

The harbour area was beautiful.

The harbour area was beautiful. There are lots of shopping areas but unfortunately they close for a good part of the afternoon. There are a lot of restaurants but it would be a good idea to check them out before you arrive as the menus vary quite a bit.

The staff/service at this hotel was by far the best we had experienced in Italy! Damiano in particular was extremely helpful and provided excellent service. The room was clean, comfortable and a good size with a great view of the old town and harbour. Bonus that we could open the windows for some fresh air and sea breeze! Breakfast was also delicious! It is a bit too far to walk to the old town however there are buses and taxi’s. Great place to stay if you are catching a ferry or flying out of Brindisi.

Super owner welcomed us with focaccia for dinner first day and Czech radio played in the room ,), he did wait for us till midnight and accepted late check in. Suprised us again with fresh croissant for breakfast on the last day and gingerbread for kids. Stefano is very helpful, he shared lot of local tips. Flat is in quiet location but close to train station, bus station to beach and town centre to walk. AC and wifi working well, double bed comfy.

Wonderful location, minutes from Seaty Beach, metres from a lovely cafe/restaurant, lovely room with everything you need, loved the pastries made by owner/baker Lucia, who also gave great recommendations for where to dine. Lots of free parking, extremely safe and secure. Bus stop 4/5 seconds from front door.

Very nice staff. Good location in the center of Brindisi. Beautiful port by the hotel but the beach is far away - 4 km, there is a bus station next to the hotel and you can get there for 1.2€ An ideal starting point. Good communication to Bari, Lecce. A successful week's stay! :)
