Loved the ease of walking this beautiful, delicious city.
Loved the ease of walking this beautiful, delicious city. Lots of great authentic places to shop for superior leather products (skip the outdoor leather section, it's a rip off). You can purchase high quality leather products for very reasonable prices at local indoor shops. It's a good idea to get tickets ahead of time for the museums etc. Florence is a very touristy city and the lines for entry or even to buy tickets on site are very long. Don't miss the food court if you are into local cuisine, it's fantastic as is the market on the first floor.

A truly historical place! Loved every minute of it.
A truly historical place! Loved every minute of it. I crossed off many lists off my bucket list with this trip; visiting Tuscany, Lisa, Rome, Pompeii
And Verona.
I’ve always been fascinated with the Medicis story, to visit a place like Florence felt like connecting with them in person. Seeing DaVinci and Micheangelos work in real life was truly astonishing. I will never forget this experience. It was worth every penny spent!
There’s a lot of walking in Florence.. that would certainly make more difficult for younger kids. I’m glad I didn’t come with my kids, I’m not sure they would have appreciated the history , maybe when they are a little older and more mature and I’m certain they won’t appreciate walking 15km in a day or not watching TV for 3 weeks 🤣

Fabulous destination if you like Renaissance history and art...
Fabulous destination if you like Renaissance history and art, but the food, the fashion and the shopping are also great.
The centre is compact and totally walkable, the service in the restaurants is totally professional and very efficient.
In our experience, the hotels are expensive - but good value - and the attractions and food are very reasonably priced.
However I would absolutely not waste time and money trying to visit the Galleria at the Accademia - we booked it months ahead of time, but it was a wet day and nobody was leaving so we didn't get our admission time slot and had to leave rather than wait in the street in a torrential downpour.
So we wasted our admission price and just left.
This was our only bad experience and we were very unimpressed the lack of basic crowd management skills at such a major attraction, but we found that less well known attractions such as the Palazzo Medici Ricardo and the Palazzo Strozzi we're way better anyway.
And do not miss Santa Croce, great church to visit.

We stayed in the center of the city.
We stayed in the center of the city. Transportation was city bus and walking. Sidewalks are narrow, busy but very walkable. All amenities are within short walking distance, including grocery stores, coffee shops, markets and restaurants. We were in Florence on a weekend and the tourist sites were very busy and congested. Lots to see and do in the city. Next trip would include site seeing in the beautiful countryside surrounding the city
I wanted a hotel close to Florence but also with grounds and a pool. Both were excellent. I hadn't planned on eating at the hotel every evening but the food, ambience and service were excellent. For those that fear having to save a bed by the pool every day, fear not, there are ample. The local buses into town are frequent but a 10 min walk away and don't adhere to forecast times, I didn't find it a problem, part of the experience of being in Italy. The hotel operates a shuttle but not always at the times I needed.
Very good location, within a walking distance of all the most interesting places (Uffizi, Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, etc.). Via dei Neri, where the accomodation is located, is one of the best streets in Florence. Broad range of all sort of food choices, ice cream, various breakfast options, pizza and all italian cuisine has to offer are at your fingertips. :)
The room was very nice, it was rearengement with the carefully maintenance of the historical climate and details of Florence and Italy.
This is a hidden gem in the hills of Florence, just 15 minutes drive from the city center. Martina and her husband are perfect hosts, gave us the best tips for restaurants (Zocchi) and ice cream (Badiani). The apartment was spacious, well-equipped, and our terrace let no wish unanswered: full view of the Hills of Tuscanny right in front of our eyes. The pool is amazing. We are often in Italy but this was clearly one of the best experiences.
We had 2 nights in Florence during our trip in Italy. The stay in this hotel was great, we enjoyed it very much. The room is very fancy, with good style and design. The team was always very helpful, nice and welcoming. The rooftop is great, with pleasant atmosphere and great food. We also enjoyed the diner in the hotel’s restaurant.
Best airbnb we stayed in Italy, clean, cozy, beautiful, modern and Manuela was very welcoming and made an amazing Italian breakfast and recommended many great places to see in Florence😊
