Well located near the station - our main reason for booking it. Helpful check in staff who stored our luggage as we arrived early. Upgraded to a “suite”. Slightly odd long skinny room with the bathroom in the middle but it was comfortable & quiet. OK breakfast with lovely additions of figs & mozzarella offered by the waiter.

I visited Florence as a keen art historian, to look at painting, sculpture and architecture and there are few better places in the world to do so. I stayed in the area of Florence called Oltrarno, which has slightly more of a vibrant, local neighbourhood feel than the central historic district on the other side of the river, and as such some fantastic restaurants and bars - the area around the via Sant' Agostino, Borgo S. Frediano and Piazza Santo Spirito are rich with great eating and drinking, as well as place of art historical interest such as Santa Maria del Carmine, Palazzo Pitti and Santo Spirito itself. Florence has one of the greatest cultural legacies in all of the western world, and is a wonderful place to visit.

Florence is one of the worlds most treasured cities and it does not dissapoint. We could not do it all in 2 weeks which I combined with remote working so it is a great excuse to come back again. We spent most of the time in an apartment which was lovely but perhaps further from the centre than ideal. Most of the old city is efffectively pedestrian access.

A lovely city with lots to see and do.
A lovely city with lots to see and do. We did a day trip to Siena, SAN Gimignano and a lovely winery. We also walked up the hill to Piazza Michelangelo and the view over Florence was amazing. The Duomo is amazing and our visit to The Acedemia to see the Statue of David was incredible.

Its good city.

Its good city.
I stayed right in city center. I visited main attractions from evening till late night 1 o clock. It was good experience in night to roam around city center by walk. No crowd. Next day we could manage to woke up early and visited again same places starting from 0730 hrs to take pictures.
Its best if you walk. Its small city as such except few locations.
It depends on your interest what you want to see museum's or what. I am having two young kids.. . You can decide as per your travel group.
Do not miss Gelato, we ate lot at Venchi Gelato and Chocolate, Its chain of many shops. 2 at main station and few many near major attractions.
Many Nice restaurants are in city center. About attraction whole lot of thigs are documented on You tube and internet. Just surf 2-3 videos and pick what you like and suits you. Happy travel.

Florence is a Fantastic City.
Florence is a Fantastic City. A key thing in all Italian Cities if using public transport purchase a ticket before you board and always validate at the machine on board which tend to be Yellow. Inspectors are very unforgiving and we saw a number of tourists being fined 50 euros for failing to have a valid ticket. Tram stops have machines at them and for the bus you can use your debit card to tap on the machine. We did this in Siena the inspector came on checked our card and all was good. Would absolutely visit Florence again.

Amazing city, visited in September and was very crowded...
Amazing city, visited in September and was very crowded which is to be expected but overwhelming. Highly recommend walking up the hill to Piazzale Michelangelo to see the views of Florence. I noticed the hop on hop off bus goes there
I wanted a hotel close to Florence but also with grounds and a pool. Both were excellent. I hadn't planned on eating at the hotel every evening but the food, ambience and service were excellent. For those that fear having to save a bed by the pool every day, fear not, there are ample. The local buses into town are frequent but a 10 min walk away and don't adhere to forecast times, I didn't find it a problem, part of the experience of being in Italy. The hotel operates a shuttle but not always at the times I needed.
We chose this hotel for it's location away from the historic center of Florence and for the facilities. It was a great decision. The staff were all extremely polite and helpful and the facility lived up to the pictures (for a change!) which included a wonderful breakfast each morning. 20 minutes walk to the Florence's main attractions, was a lovely way to start each day. Overall a wonderful week in Florence and our best holiday in Italy to date.
I was traveling by car and I chose this place for the parking place (which was good, and apparently a rare thing in Florence or Italy in general), and location (15 minutes walk to the city center).
