I stayed for 5 days which on a personal level was probably a day too long (incorporating a trip to Pisa) 3-4 days is plenty. It’s beautiful but once you’ve seen it… you’ve seen it!
David is a must see and the options for the visit are great. I loved it there…

Magnificent city.
Magnificent city. If you press things around in a strict schedule you can see every must-see attraction. Be careful on the roads, they drive a little bit crazy, but where don’t the locals drive crazy? Pretty much expensive food, nearly everywhere, but some places are worth the price. Stores are ok, you can find cheap and expensive ways to pass your time. I hate the fact that you have to pay a ticket to visit churches, but ok. Visit as much as you can, because they hold pieces of art and craftsmanship nowhere to be seen!

Florence is a great sized city to visit. The attractions are all within walking distance. Piazza Michelangelo gives fantastic views of the city and bridges across the Arno.
Excellent restaurants and cafes along with shops!
The galleries are slightly disappointing, however the Duomo and Piazza della Signoria is stunning when first approached!

We feared queues and crowds, but in late November, although it was still busy, these did not materialise. We walked into Duomo one afternoon as there was no queue. However, do book tickets for major museums. At Uffizi, we were able to select a 6pm slot, which was a great way to prepare for dinner, booked 190 minutes later. Don't dawdle on the ground floor but get upstairs (there is a tiny lift), to all the treasures. There is a caffeteria/bar half way. Do book at least one city walking tour, informative and useful to understand the city around you. Eat well, but share plates.

The breakfast was the best we had in seven hotel stays in Italy. Shirley spoiled us with smiley face cappuccinos & a warm greeting every morning. The location could not have been better, we could walk 5-10 minutes to everything we wanted to see. The sitting area with light snacks & drinks was a nice touch, very comfortable setting. Pam was great checking us in & taking our luggage for storage. It was a beautiful hotel.
the hotel is really very good. room clean, even bed and towel was changed daily. very close to the center of Florence on foot. nice staff. The croissants and sweet snacks for breakfast were the best of any hotel I've been to in Italy. The air conditioning in the room is noisy but works. There was plenty of space in the gated parking lot.
We had 2 nights in Florence during our trip in Italy. The stay in this hotel was great, we enjoyed it very much. The room is very fancy, with good style and design. The team was always very helpful, nice and welcoming. The rooftop is great, with pleasant atmosphere and great food. We also enjoyed the diner in the hotel’s restaurant.
Great location, right by the main spots of Florence and train station. Staff was friendly, something hard to find in most of Italy. Did not get to try their breakfast on terrace but got to go up and see the area and view, it was a really nice place. the hotel itself is also very interesting and feels like a museum on its own.
The best hotel that I stay in Italy! Location is perfect, room is super clean and friendly staff. I wish I will stay in Canto degli Aranci again in my next Florence visit. This place makes my travel very well. Highly recommended!
