I think you would need weeks to see all/ and the true Florence. I had only 3 nights, to shop, sightsee and take in the ambiance. My tour of the Accademia, Duomo, and Ufizzy, were all excellent, except for the long lines you encounter. I had skip the line tickets but you still need to queue. My trip to Tuscany, including lunch was to die for. It was beautiful to get out of the hustle and bustle of Florence for a day. Florence is very beautiful with such amazing history and architecture, you could just wander and look at the buildings. It is very expensive for a person on my budget, but you don’t have to buy in the designer shops and can find yummy places to eat cheaply I would definitely return and spend more time there!!!
This is a beautiful little town with a good mix of restaurants, wine bars or just snacks if you want something light for lunch. We had a rental car and visited several of the towns in Tuscany. We hired E bikes from Urban Bikery in town, this was a great experience. It took us to a beautiful winery off the track where I would say had the best pasta so far on the trip. The bikes were great fun and easy to ride. I’m glad we chose Montepulciano as our base as it wasn’t too busy and the view and position are amazing. Highly recommend
The Duomo inside and out is spectacular and is free, but you need to book tickets in advance to gain access to the top of the dome (cupola) to enjoy splendid views over Florence. The hop on hop off red bus tours are great for seeing the city quickly and learning more about it. Line A is the city centre and takes a ride up to Piazzale Michelangelo, through the leafy affluent suburbs that smell amazing with the scent of Cypress trees. The view from the piazzale is unreal!! Line B is also great, taking you to the small roman village of Fiesole. The bus climbs up the hills of tuscany, passing many olive groves. The view is breathtaking and definitely worth the ride! To eat - Grom for outstanding gelato. Gustavino restaurant just off the duomo is a brilliant steak house (but with a wider menu) and very affordable!
What I loved most about Florence was taking a tour to Tuscany and Pisa. In Florence, the little streets, cathedrals, Ponte Veccio bridge, etc. Lots of shopping stores and restaurants.
I've been to Pisa several times, I really like it and its a great place to use as a base for visiting other parts of Tuscany. We found two really great restaurants which we went to all week, the food was great and the service and staff were very good. Lots to see in Pisa and nice places to visit within easy reach. The transport system is extremely good and cheap.
An underrated city Pisa has much to offer. Obviously the tower and surroundings but the restaurants and shops are good too. We like the botanic gardens and the university area and Pisa is a great hub for a Tuscany exploration.
Absolutely love Cortona from beginning to end a true gem in Tuscany. Definitely visit again soon. Fantastic restaurants, ristorante cacciatore in a little side street off piazza della Repubblica. Great views and fantastic country walks.
It’s not a great base to travel to Tuscany . We have stayed in Montepulciano , Umbria and that area reflects more about Tuscan life. I would rather stay in Florence than San gimiano next time . Also cities like Cortona, Assisi , Montalcino are great to base urself for Tuscany .
A lovely walled city that should be in anyone’s itinerary when visiting northern Tuscany small enough to walk everywhere with bars Cafe's and restaurants to cater for all tastes.
Great little town, amazing views over Tuscany, Great places to eat and drink, good independent shops, we attending a wedding here and it was beautiful, great for people watching and eating al fresco, it does get very busy so parking very limited, best to park outside of main bit and walk up the hill, comfy shoes a necessity.

Of a 5 day driving trip around Tuscany/Italy, this was our favourite place to stay. Finding the hotel is a bit tricky in San Gimignano's streets. There was no one there when we arrived, however with a quick call the proprietor came to our car and showed directions of where to drop off and park. The room is clean, spacious and spotless with beautiful views. If you don't fancy another 7 Euro for breakfast, don't worry, there are also a few cafes similar or less prices and views onto the other sides of San Gimignano.

This trip taught me what I find important in a hotel or apartment while abroad: modern and clean (view ancient sights, don‘t stay in one!), easy access to main highway (don‘t go 20 minutes down scary winding serpentines before you get anywhere), internet access, beautiful views from Hotel room so you don’t have to leave your room to know you are in Tuscany for days you want to just relax. This place has it all. It really was a haven to us and I would recommend it to anyone visiting this region.

The breakfast was delicious and couldn't get enough of the scrambled egg which was made in small batches fresh, the fresh bread and tomatoes were very yummy I have been on the search for tomatoes the same in England with no joy! The pool area was great for families and children with great views over the rolling hills! The rooms were very big and traditionally Italian! LOVED hotel and Tuscany the people are the friendliest in Italy from my experience! Would LOVE to come back soon!

Best location in town, best place, near atraction tower etc., Spacious rooms with nice atmosphere, nice view, all around, shops, restaurants, il toscano restaurant very good. Safe, friendly, romantic. Perfect equipped kitchen, so you can cook, but we used it just for beakfast or snack, if are near so good restaurants with great tuscany meals, its better eat out. But its + an we prefere apartments for possibilities, you can but no must, much comfortable than hotel rooms.

Villa Marsili is my favorite place to stay in Italy. The Hotel is magical and Yohanna will make sure you have everything you need to enjoy Cortona. She will make reservations at restaurant, book tours, book visit to Castle, etc. The rooms are so clean and well appointed. Breakfast is so fantastic, nothing I ever seen anywhere else. You feel like you are transported in time. When I visit Tuscany, I will always make sure to come to Villa Marsili.

We absolutely loved this villa! It was the dream place to stay in Tuscany for our family and I wouldn't have changed a thing. The apartments were spacious and clean and the pool and outdoor facilities were perfect for our kids. The staff were lovely and the meal in the sister hotel was fabulous. Make sure you buy a T bone in nearby Greve in Chianti and salad in the local markets and cook it in the charcoal BBQ. Heaven!

There was a very nice pizzeria in the neighborhood - which served wonderful pizza - one of the best we have ever had while in Italy!! Tuscany and the land around Viareggio is gorgeous! But the city itself together with the hotel is a "no, no!". We will definitely be back in Tuscany, but will not stay in Viareggio anymore! Don't let your visit to the beautiful Tuscany upset you with the visit at this place.

One of our best stay in Italy! Located in the middle of the tipical little village in Tuscany with good view. Historical building of the hotel which dates back to 16th century has been perfectly refurbished with original atmosphere. Bright and clean bathroom with hotwater, good aircondition, good room size, friendly staff and good breakfast at the terrace. Will definitely come back again.

Room and bathroom were roomy and clean. Parking places were under the roof so your car wont burn in the sun. Hotel has pool, which comes handy in the summer in Tuscany. Breakfast was very good (we missed vegetables or fruits but thats not typical to serve in Italy, I guess) Price/value ratio is very good compared to other accomodations in Tuscany

While visiting Tuscany we had had chance to stay at variety of b&b, hotels, houses and apartments. We both agree that Dario's place was the best one. Wonderfully decorated, big studio with charming views makes you want to stay there for ever. Super friendly host and fair price makes casina di Dario perfect choice for stay in Tuscany.

Perfect service, luxury room, sensationally breakfast for Italy. Very clean and lovingly designed rooms. Giovanni is very helpful and courteous host and a great travel guide. When we visit Tuscany for a few day, we definitely will stay at this B&B.... it is more than a B&B... it's like a Hotel. We love it.

This is a magical and romantic place. Beautiful nature, wonderful rooms, great breakfast (the best of all places I've been to in Italy) The spa is very clean. All very nice. We highly recommend this spa hotel. Nearby is the beautiful town of Cortona, everything you expect from Tuscany.

The apartment is located at a very good location, within walking distance to main tourists spot. The host Fede is very friendly and prepared maps, recommendations for food and drinks and other useful information for us. Even a bottle of wine from Tuscany. In general, a great experience!

The staff was very nice and welcoming The location of the hotel is perfect both for a few relaxing days at the beach and for exploring Tuscany and Liguria regions. The dinner was amazing with some dishes that were the highlight of our holiday in Italy. Good value for money.

By far the best hotel we stayed during our whole Tuscany trip. Breathtaking view and environment (DON'T MISS THE GARDEN! ), luxury room, fantastic staff and one of the greatest restaurants we've had in Italy. Would definitely come back for sure in the future.

The staff was very helpful and the food was delicious. The location was beautiful and it was a wonderful experience. We very much enjoyed that there were not many Americans in attendance and it made us feel that we were very much in Europe. It was well situated and enabled us to take day trips easily.
