1. Location - walking distance to the train station and to the churches we wanted to visit. Near to cafes, restaurants and a convenience store. 2. We booked the heaven room so the room was in white, clean colors and even had a small balcony. The room was very clean plus the first round of refreshments in the mini fridge was free to consume. 3. Water for the shower easily heats up. You don't waste water by letting it run to heat up. 4. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly especially Mhervee and Maria, the same compliment goes to the two ladies manning the cafe. 5. I liked that the liquid handsoap, shampoo and lotions were in 500ml amber pump bottles so you don't have to scrimp to feel clean and pampered.

Staff were extra helpful. I’d give them 11/10 for their service. When reception found out we were heading out for a tour before breakfast was ready they packed us a bag of goodies to have in lieu of breakfast. They also upgraded us up to fit two single beds in the room. As I requested for two single beds.

Tuscany has endless stories to reveal: little picturesque towns like San Gimignano contrast with coves and beaches in the Follonica Gulf and Argentario Mount. Heavenly angels lift the soul in beautiful churches decorated with skill and art, while back on earth, luxury Tuscany hotels and restaurants feed the body with indulgent servings of the best Chianina meat, the tastiest olive oil, and countless bottles of Chianti or Brunello.

The best of Florentine Renaissance art is packed into the Piazza della Signoria, Galleria degli Uffizzi and the magnificent Duomo cathedral. Pisa is a lovely historic and compact town with the obvious attractions but we used it as a base for visiting other local towns - Pontedera and Lucca - both accessed easily and cheaply by train. With more time and better weather we could have explored other towns and the coast. Walking the wall around Pisa gave us a different perspective to the town and the 'Tower' as did visiting that area at night when the buildings are nicely lit and the crowds have subsided. Anyone with an interest in scooters should visit the Piaggio Museum in Pontedera - it is chock full of Vespas (and a few motorbikes) and at 5 euros for admission, its a bargin. We also had the best cappuchino in Pontedera and half the price we were paying in Pisa which still wasnt expensive compared to UK prices!

Siena is a great place to visit even who those who live in Italy. The Cathedral is spectacular and the town is super interesting history. Siena is a wealthy town, so the shopping is great and there are a lot of interesting antique, art shops. The cuisine is great and having an aperitif on the grand square is a must.

Lucca is unique in having it's walls in place which limits the amount of traffic in the town and makes it so walkable and accessible (compared to Verona). Evenings are busy with locals and people coming into the city. Weekends people walking the wall circuit. Flea market in the squares. Lots of churches to explore. Masses of restaurants, pasticcerias and cafes. Highlights: Museo Nationale di Villa Guinigi - a revelation. Botanical gardens - compact, quiet, in a corner of the walls Chiesa di San Francesco - now a college so easy access Lucca is a great base to get around Tuscany. Trains are reasonably efficient, clean and well priced try Pisa, Prato, Pistaio and Firenze. Easy for Viareggio and up/down the coast.

They home in on tourist's, when they checked our tickets that we did on the card machine, though not our fault, we wanted 2 tickets, it gave us 1 and the called us crimenals

Prato has a lot of historic buildings, with lots of bars, cafes and restaurants hiding up side streets and in the squares. There’s also a large modern art gallery just outside - worth a visit if you like that kind of art. The railway station is a hub to get to all major cities - we travelled from Rome and then went on to visit Florence, Bologna and Pisa cheaply and easily.

A beautiful historic town and one of our favourite stays on our 10-day Italy roadtrip. We traveled as a couple (in our 35-40's), and highly recommend staying at La Romantica Lolo, having a private wine tasting at Ercolani, dining at Ristorante La Grotta, and truffle hunting at Podere il Casale (15-min drive).

At 1400 m.a.s.l. the place is perfectly sited both for skiing and for walking/hiking. Unfortunately, they are far from good in advertising it. You have to find out by yourself the wonderful trails (there is a not advertised app), many going up to some 2000 m.a.s.l.
