I have rarely experienced such a relaxing holiday! Normally I’m the active type who likes to travel around and discover new things – but at Riva degli Etruschi I found myself simply staying. With walks by the sea, swimming and windsurfing, I was able to relax deeply and truly recharge my batteries. A special highlight was the Maria Dune Restaurant. Hidden in lush greenery, almost like a small jungle, it creates a calm and magical atmosphere. The seafood was a highlight: exquisitely fresh, prepared with great attention to flavour and detail – a true delicacy that opened up an entirely new seafood experience for me. Equally remarkable is the director of the resort. With his warm, attentive and at the same time highly professional manner gives the whole place a unique atmosphere. You can feel how much it matters to him that guests enjoy a carefree and relaxing holiday. This spirit flows through the entire team, whose attentiveness and kindness make you feel genuinely welcome. I will certainly return!

Florence is, well... Florence!

Florence is, well... Florence! I haven't met someone who doesn't love Florence yet... Only tip is IF you go in the summer, be sure to take an air conditioned hotel. Otherwise, you will suffer extreme heat! But.. that is just any city in Europe during peak summer and heat waves!

If you enjoy traveling and walking at your destination, Pisa...

If you enjoy traveling and walking at your destination, Pisa is the place. You can walk from the train station after you take the airport tram that cost a train ticket from the airport to Pisa Centrale. Be aware that they are competitive for lunch through dinner to have people eat at their restaurant so they’re not afraid to come and approach you with their menu. Otherwise, the sites and the architecture people the Duomo was like what I would imagine Florence being. This was my first trip to Italy and I will return back to Pisa. My adult sons loved walking everywhere but we’re very active family. The gelato and the tiramisu is fantastic. Don’t be afraid to ask for gluten-free pasta, gluten-free pizza is hard to come by . We visited blu muse For 5 Euro each a very small entry for the amount of amazing art and architecture including the building. We stayed at the hotel Bologna we give it 10 stars. Did Duomo buy your tickets in advance? They do run behind on the tower but if you’re there later than 15 minutes, they may not honor your tickets. If you get your tickets through booking.com, make sure you have WhatsApp prior to your arrangements so you get your ticket to show at the venue. We visited the garden University museum, which is outdoors and it was also a nominal fee and so beautiful there is a farm to fork restaurant on the Arno, fattoria le prata. It is wonderful And affordable for the fabulous €30 for three adults total. Our favorite restaurant for lunch and dinner Lo Sfizio. They have extensive dulce and menus! GF pasta. I could go on and on🇮🇹❣️

We didn't plan on it, but arrived during the "Palio" - a 400 year-old traditional horse race. The customs around it are very local and very dear to the residents. In addition we stayed during the month when the floor mosaics at the Duomo are uncovered. What rich history or art, religion and culture exist in Siena - and the food was wonderful all around!

I recommend visiting Lucca.

I recommend visiting Lucca. Amazing park with linden trees and magnolias (with huge white magnolia flowers) around the town located on top of the old city walls where people are walking, jogging, riding bicycles, sitting on benches - I could feel perfume of linden trees. Very good gelaterias in the town. It is clean and chic with lot of boutiques. As far as I am concerned, there is opera every Saturday. When I visited, there were many bands playing music on the streets.

Beautiful. It can get busy but there’s a reason for that. Stay for the evenings when you can explore the side streets on your own. Wonderful food in Ristorante Belsoggiorno. Visit the Duomo for the frescoes, the Torre Grosse for the views and the Rocca for the peace. Easily walkable in a day or spend a few days ambling around and exploring at leisure. Best gelato - Dondolis - rose and lychee / raspberry and rosemary were my favourites !

Very nice way to escape the heat of Florence!

Very nice way to escape the heat of Florence! Lots of people rent bikes and ride along the promenade. The water at the beach could be cleaner. It's nowhere near the "blue" that you see in Sicily or other parts of mainland Italy. But the sand is nice, and you can walk far out in the water without needing to swim. There was free nightly entertainment along the promenade, and it was great to eat outside at a rooftop restaurant. Beautiful sunset.
