Incredibly large room, plenty of space to store clothes and move around. The pool and sauna, while needing to be reserved, were great to relax in after a long few days walking around Florence. Although the room was warm, AC brought the temperature down and made it more suitable. Staff were kind and helpful, and umbrellas available for guests to use on rainy days!

Absolutely everything! There's literally nothing to dislike! This was our second year at Golfo del Sole, and the next one we're going again- it's so great, our kids talk about it all year long. The staff is exceptionally great! Honestly, they are so nice and so polite, they make you feel like you're family and not just guests. The facilities are simple, but great. Everything is clean and well- maintained. Having a small supermarket on site is very convenient- you may buy almost anything from grocery to beach toys. There's a lot to do in the resort itself, but if you fancy travelling around southern Tuscany, the resort is near major routes to anywhere from Pisa to Pitigliano.

Everything was excellent 👌🏼👌🏼 the cottage was big enough. The environment was superb with everything you need, parks, restaurants and the beach. Our kids loved it! They are 4 and 6 y old. We went in June and it was perfect. Low season and not so crowded. The pool areas were great with everything nearby. There was kidsclub and entertainment every day! Kitchen was well equipped with new spunge and supplies for washing dishes. So great! We stayed for 3 nights but will stay longer next time when we go by car. The taxi is 20 euro from the train station and only 10 minutes away. Everything was great! We will come back again!. Thanks for a great service!

Everything! Rafaela, Riccardo, Carlo and all the employees of the resort, including the reception and the restaurant make you feel home. The grounds of the hotel are clear, isolated, located in such a green-lush setting that you never want to leave. The sea is just by your step, and whenever you want to enjoy the sunset or walk by the beautiful Biadola, it’s there. It’s a perfect place for bohemian, easy going and quiet luxuries sense of treating yourself.

Instead of nice words, I unfortunately have to point out the rudeness of the local people. I speak very good Italian, but from personal experience I concluded that it is better to keep quiet about my knowledge of Italian and use only English, which I did because using only English I received excellent service. Namely, at several locations in the city, most notably at the Santa Maria Novella train station, I was faced with extremely rude staff. The young girl who works at the Feltrinelli book shop was extremely rude to me as a customer, which was witnessed by other customers (a complaint was sent to Feltrinelli), then the lady from Trenitalia shouted at me when I couldn't find my "binario". I apologize but I was not born neither I live in Italy, I was just a tourist, I was just asking, maybe it's better if I didn't, but then what is the purpose of the Trenitalia staff at the station?) I know that Italian "shouting" should sound charming and nice, but only when it really is, my experience of communicating with local people in Italian has been reduced to utter rudeness. When I started communicating in English, I received excellent service. Despite the bad experience with the locals, I liked the city, but my stay was too short. I would like to visit it again because it is beautiful and has a soul :).

During the day Siena is chock full of people (walking tours choke the streets) but is thankfully a much sleepier place in the evenings when the gazillions of day-trippers have thankfully left. Despite getting there at the beginning of a heatwave, the streets are largely shaded due to the narrow streets and high buildings, and there are multiple sights in the small town worth visiting - the Piazza del Campo and accompanying Torre del Mangia was a particular favourite. There are plenty of food options to suit any budget, although we found pasta dishes (as we have in a lot of Italy) to be overpriced. Drinks in the many bars around Campo can, understandably, also be pricey but they were of a decent size and quality, the view is pretty spectacular and the staff we encountered around there were lovely.

Good for a one-day trip if you just want to see the historic city. If you stay at the hotel I stayed at (San Marco), it might be a good spot to use as a base for seeing Lucca, Pisa and a few other nearby cities that you don't want to spend a lot of time in.

A unique Tuscan town. There are lots of other hill top towns around also worth a visit but the history of this one is interesting and this is seen in the buildings (towers). Two of the best gelato shops in Italy. Can also recommend Osteria Baccano on the street running parallel to the main shopping street.

I only stayed overnight, but this gritty, international and vibrant city grew on me by the hour. Tourists are an exception here so you get to see life in a port city next to the people who call it home. Do t miss the Mercato Centrale, but go before noon. Also across the street from there find the small bar Da Gagarin for their inimitable “5 e 5” chickpea sandwich, at less than 3 Euro.
