Very nice and kind hosts. This is the hotel managed by the same family in the 3rd generation. The family atmosphere rules the place. Fantastic room with terrace and sea view. Fresh and nice refurbishment. Nice restaurant where we had dinner. Well served breakfast in a fantastic Italian palazzo atmosphere. Very nice location near the ferry. Felicia and Luigi are the best. The staying really exceeded our expectations. We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and will be happy to return!

The building is old and charming, the room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff is amazing, extremely polite and sweet young people, who speak great English. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, everything we tried was amazing, the service was great. We cannot recommend this place enough and we will definitely be back!

I was able to fully experience Italian culture and food, and the hotel staff, especially Roberto, were friendly and kind. It was close to the train station and ferry station, so it was easy to get around.

A Haven of Alpine Tranquillity

Surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the Alps, Lake Como is a long, thin lake in the shape of an inverse ‘Y’. At its south-west corner is the beautiful town that it’s named after – Como. A short train ride from Milan, this is the starting point for several Lake Como cruises. If you take the funicular railway up to Brunate you get magnificent views of the lake and mountains, towards Switzerland just to the west.

The laidback and sophisticated way of life makes Como Lake popular with celebrities and several have homes in exclusive Bellagio, which is almost entirely surrounded by water. The views here are breathtaking, so it’s easy to see why of all the Lake Como hotels, Bellagio has the greatest concentration.

Just across the water are Lenno, Tremezzo and Menaggio, home to many exclusive lakefront hotels, many with swimming pools. You can actually swim in some parts of the lake, and the best beaches are found in the area near Gravedona in the north. Fanning out around a small harbour, this town offers some of the best Lake Como watersports.

Our life usually short enough to visit places twice - but here we will return, no doubt! Amazing landscape over 2 lakes with a large and lovely garden makes you feel like you are in heaven. Drinking very tasty home-made wines (and beers, too!), eating original-local tastes of the farm, enjoying perfect selection and type of Italian coffees just let you relax and get reenergized fully.

The whole environment: the view, the clean cosy room, the delicious restaurant, really nice staff, the fun server. The stay was really incredible, and even the location had both the ferry and bus stop. The set of soaps and shampoos had a really nice smell. The room was incredibly clean, beige walls and not a trace. Restaurant is recommended!!

Amazing views!! Boat ride to Bellagio was great!! Views of the snowcapped mountains from Bellagio were awesome!! The town of Como itself was a little too urban. We went to a local restaurant on a side street and was greeted by a homeless man knocking on my car window, begging for money. We gave him our leftovers on the way out and he still continued to follow us and ask for money. I highly recommend Hotel Villa Flori. Make sure you get a lake view room. We got lucky and were upgraded to the lake view room. I had thought every room faced the water, but they have street view rooms. Which I’m sure are loud as the street is so close and the view is of a rock wall.

It’s a lovely little village, perfect for a few nights stay. We travelled to Valencia, but it paled in comparison! Bellagio is definitely the place to be. Lots of places to eat and cute shops. We stayed in Florence hotel and it was perfect!

Faultless.

Faultless. The communication prior to arrival was excellent. Staff were friendly. The hotel is amazing, the rooms are beautiful and clean. We only stayed one night but could have stayed a lot longer and should we return to the area we would definitely stay again.

It’s a small town catering mainly to locals with few amenities but well connected transport links. Supermarket was only open half days. Most of the eateries were fast food/cheap. But there is a couple of nicer restaurants. Little else to do here. There is a busy road through the town. Short lakeside path is nice.

It's a cute town with some lovely restaurants and easy enough to walk around for someone of average fitness. However if your purpose is to explore most of Lake Como, you will be limited to the slow ferry up to Bellagio / Varenna / Menaggio which takes 2-3hours. We had originally booked to stay in Varenna but cancelled due to works on the train line to get there. It still would have been a better option, or just staying in Como town to access the fast ferry. Most of the private boat tours also pick up from Como or from the "Golden Triangle" of the lake.

A beautiful lakeside town! The railway station is very close by and there are several nice restaurants in the town. The surrounding mountains and lake make it a perfect location and the towns itself is very pretty. The town is just an hour and cheap train fare from Milan making it a perfect day excursion from the city.

Bellano is one of the smaller towns of Lake Como and has a nice marina and promenade alongside the wharf. It can't be compared with the bigger towns of Bellagio or Menaggio which are more beautiful and scenic. But Bellano is quite nice too with a neat town centre with both indoor and outdoor eating places. It is also less crowded as compared to some of the bigger towns which gives it a laid back ambience. Logistics are however not so great. Ferry frequency for going to other towns is low which means sometime you have to catch a ferry at an inconvenient time. Inside Bellano public transport is practically non existent and taxis are not available for love or money which is perhaps true for other towns of Lake Como as well. There don't seem to be many top class hotels in Bellano. We stayed at the Villa Reverie Boutique hotel which was situated right on the lake side and was about 1 km from the town centre. We liked the hotel and would recommend it strongly despite its high price point for a 3 star hotel.

we enjoyed our vacation in the appartmment close to the historic lake and the walk at the shores of lake como, marvellous experience. People are kind and extremely helpful, 2 thumbs up for a perfect stay in the City of Motors!! (home of moto Guzzi, great motorcycle brand, continous production of motorcycles for over 100 y!!)
