Good value for money and my room was a lot larger than I expected it to be! Bathroom is spacious and the location of the hotel is perfect— only less than a 10 minute walk from the train station. The hotel was also very close to the main port of Como and wasn’t near a busy, noisy area! I also really appreciate the air conditioning. All staff were friendly and they even let you leave your luggage after check out.

Set at the south-western tip of Y-shaped Lake Como, the town of Como offers wonderful views of the surrounding Alps. A funicular railway runs up to the village of Brunate from where you can see Switzerland on the opposite shore.
The peaceful location has long been a favourite with celebrities, but the town has been around since Roman times. In fact, 2 of its most famous sons – Pliny the Elder and Younger – are commemorated in statues on the façade of the 14th-century cathedral. The next door Broletto dates to the previous century, and even older are the remains of the medieval walls and Castello Baradello, sitting on a hill overlooking the town.
Much more modern in style is the Casa del Fascio, built during Mussolini’s rule. The streets between here and the waterfront are packed with shops, bars and restaurants, and Lake Como boat trips depart from the small marina.
The neighbouring park houses a temple-like museum about Alessandro Volta (another former resident), and around the shoreline is elegant Villa Olmo which looks across landscaped gardens to the water’s edge.
The Como accommodation on Booking.com includes luxury lakefront hotels, town centre B&Bs and cheap apartments near San Giovanni Train Station, which offers direct services to Milan.
a day or two in Como is sufficient
Boat trip is nice, polite staff and stopoff for a drink
pavements are in a terrible dangerous state!
Food is very mediocre and expensive so recommend eat at home or buy a poke bowl or salad from the Carrefour! This was disappointing. The only good meal we had was a pizza at a local restaurant away from town centre! Not the Italy I remember.
Trains are pretty good but they do not always announce the stops so be aware!
Waiters were rude and unwelcoming
Como town centre - no swimming nor beach...

The lake is beautiful I would take a side trip to any other of the surrounding villages. I would recommend renting a boat for the day especially on your own if you know how to drive a boat.
Took the train trip to Switzerland which was fun.
Visit a villa
Make sure you get tickets for the boat taxi a head of time and book excursions before you arrive.

We stayed in an apartment about 5 blocks from old town so if you were going out to dinner, it was a bit of a hike. We were in Como for 5 nights which was a bit too long. Fortunately we had a car. It was very hot and we were seeking places we could swim after touring. We went to the Lido in Lugano Switzerland and one in Como-Lido Villa Olmo. Ferries cancel when there is debris in the water. You are best hiring a guide to get to the smaller villages if you want to take a ferry and guarantee getting a ticket. The ferry was wonderful but very crowded. The tour company brought us back by van since the ferry was not available at the last minute on our return.

Beautiful, but underwhelming.
Beautiful, but underwhelming. I'm not sure if this qualifies as a bucket list destination as it is pretty touristy now. Still incredibly beautiful but perhaps not a quite the epiphany that it might have been in the past.
The local Aero Club really gets a nod here though, they were extremely friendly and welcoming to us.

There is plenty to see around Como.
There is plenty to see around Como. You can travel to other places on the lake via the ferry’s. There are plenty of places to get food and drinks. There is a train station to. We enjoyed going up to Brunate by the funicular, fantastic views from the top. There is a walk up to the lighthouse but we didn’t do it. It’s easy to get around Como as most of the streets are predestined. Venture off the main square and you’ll find lots of small bars & restaurants to eat at.

We went to Como for the weekend (Friday to Sunday).
We went to Como for the weekend (Friday to Sunday). The city is small but rather beautiful. The architecture is inspiring and the lake with the mountains are a panorama worth seeing. The restaurants are lovely and so are the people living there. Unfortunately Como has many asylants and it's dangerous if you're not in the town centre. So before you book a hotel make sure it is in the town centre.
The hotel is in a brilliant location in Como. A short 5 min walk from the San Giovanni train station and only 2/3 minutes from the lake where you can get ferries to Bellagio etc. The hotel is also beside a lovely piazza which is nice for dinner/drinks but isn't too loud at night (our room was on the fourth floor). The bed was comfortable and the shower pressure was good. I was happy I chose this hotel for our trip.
An incredible hotel and an amazing way to experience Lake Como… the hotel is beautiful and very well decorated. The views are stunning and the staff were so incredibly friendly, professional and welcoming…. A special mention to Marvis our waiter.
Overall, we were so happy here with lots to do, we struggled to leave the hotel! We will definitely be back soon.
Great location! A perfect overnight stay after a day spent exploring beautiful Como and the surrounding area. A large bathroom, a comfortable bed, perfect air conditioning, a fridge with cold drinks and a coffee machine - what else?☕️😉Very nice owners. It was my best rest in Italy😎
Located in the centre of Como, very close to the lake, and main restaurants. Staff was beyond friendly and very helpful to any of our requests. The room was very nice and breakfast was decent. Overall I would definitely come back to this hotel if in the area again. We loved our stay!
Hotel and staff were wonderful, breakfast was excellent so much choice. Rooftop bar and pool were great and distance to Lake Como was about 15 minute easy walk. A great place to stay. ❤️🇮🇹
