Hilton Lake Como, hotel in Como

Featuring a rooftop infinity pool, Hilton Lake Como offers accommodation a 10-minute walk from the shores of Lake Como.

Average hotel a million miles from anything. My negative review is because the food - was terrible. Awful awful awful. So bad, that we wouldn’t even eat breakfast or even order a coffee after one day we did and it arrived cold. If you have points, and expect a basic stay, fine. But absolutely nothing about this hotel is special. Or worth the trip given it’s an hour drive from anywhere. Waste of money. I’ve never been a Hilton fan anyway, my first stay has solidified that it’s a basic hotel and never again. I’m absolutely sure that a boutique 3 star would be much much better. The pool is pretty.

FAQs about hotels in Como

Alpine Beauty and Lakeside Tranquillity

Set at the south-western tip of Y-shaped Lake Como, the town of Como offers wonderful views of the surrounding Alps. A funicular railway runs up to the village of Brunate from where you can see Switzerland on the opposite shore.

The peaceful location has long been a favourite with celebrities, but the town has been around since Roman times. In fact, 2 of its most famous sons – Pliny the Elder and Younger – are commemorated in statues on the façade of the 14th-century cathedral. The next door Broletto dates to the previous century, and even older are the remains of the medieval walls and Castello Baradello, sitting on a hill overlooking the town.

Much more modern in style is the Casa del Fascio, built during Mussolini’s rule. The streets between here and the waterfront are packed with shops, bars and restaurants, and Lake Como boat trips depart from the small marina.

The neighbouring park houses a temple-like museum about Alessandro Volta (another former resident), and around the shoreline is elegant Villa Olmo which looks across landscaped gardens to the water’s edge.

The Como accommodation on Booking.com includes luxury lakefront hotels, town centre B&Bs and cheap apartments near San Giovanni Train Station, which offers direct services to Milan.

Como has a mixture of great shopping. The market is amazing. Lovely restaurants, You could dine in a different place every day of the year. It is a beautiful place. The lake views are wonderful. There is some construction going on at the lake from, but it will be lovely when finished. We have been many times and it never disappoints. It is our favourite place in Italy.

Very pretty with plenty of place to eat. Interesting market. We found getting a bus around the lake and taking the ferry back worked best for us as the queue to buy ferry tickets can be quite long in Como.

Como is good for a centre to see the Southern part of the lake. The downside is it is very busy. Too many day trippers. The boats are crowded and long queues. They have also dug up most of the promenade at the moment which spoils the lakeside area. The bus is a good alternative to the ferry. Best to stay here a few days and then move on to Varenna, Lenno or Mennagio.

Stunning town in a beautiful part of Italy.

Stunning town in a beautiful part of Italy. Good transport links via Milan (land at Linate airport, then metro to Milano Centrale station, then train). The town itself is the main attraction, with great restaurants, and good shopping from groceries to fashion. Then you can visit the smaller towns of Lake Como by ferry or bus.

Try not to travel in peak season. Sooo many tourists!

Try not to travel in peak season. Sooo many tourists! Make sure you book ferry travel (for the lake) day before but be aware tickets are non refundable. Big cues at the ticket office...go early!! Slow ferry outward bound is great with the fast ferry for return. Tickets are not inexpensive if travelling on a budget however well worth budgeting for! Como and the townships along the lake are beautiful! Try to find places where the locals eat....in the back streets usually. Como was our last stop after six weeks in Italy .... we were a little over visiting cathedrals etc however we really enjoyed site seeing and sitting in the local cafes people watching.

I cannot recommend Albergo Le Due Corti highly enough. The front desk staff was the nicest, friendliest I've ever encountered. Above and beyond customer service. The hotel itself is architecturally fascinating and lovely. The room was small but comfortable and more than met my needs. One of the reasons I would return to Como would simply be to stay at Albergo Le Due Corti. I've never said that about a hotel before. Do not hesitate to book your stay here.

Hotel looked out onto the Lake which was stunning! Location, I would rate it 10/10. slightly outdated hotel but that’s the case for many in Italy. I think just for the price for the two nights, it could be nicer but of course it’s the location that makes it expensive!! It was perfect for what we needed but isn’t luxurious I would say☺️ But everything was clean, the bed was so comfortable and shower was great! Staff were helpful too!

The location was excellent. This hotel is so close to the lake and ferries as well as great restaurants and shops. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was large, very comfortable and clean. There was lots of space to unpack a suitcase and feel organized. It has air-conditioning, which we found out to be super important on our trip throughout Italy in July. I would definitely come back here. One of the best sleeps!

Good location, close walk to ferry dock, and cafes and restaurants in Como. There is a parking space close by for $20/night . It is a little hard to park into because Italy’s streets are narrow.
