Beautiful boutique hotel with fantastic service. The moment you walk into the hotel, you will notice that they have put efforts to entertain the guests with genuine hospitality, and the decoration and the painting in the hotel is stunning. The location is great, just a few steps to the metro and a nice walking distance to the downtown area. Everything was perfect!

Excellent value for money. The hotel is cozy. Friendly staff. Good breakfast and restaurant services. The location is convenient due to good transport connections (the nearest metro stations and tram stops are about a 5-10 minute walk away). There is a direct metro line to the train station and city center. The neighborhood has a local feel, with restaurants, shops, bars, and cafes nearby.

FAQs about hotels in Lombardy

Sophisticated and Serene

The diverse region of Lombardy touches the 3 largest Italian lakes: Lake Garda, Lake Maggiore and Lake Como. Their beautiful shores house many Lombardy luxury hotels and even more luxurious celebrity residences.

The rich and famous also flock to Milan, one of the world’s fashion capitals, where designer boutiques are found alongside La Scala opera house and the iconic San Siro football stadium. To the south, Pavia is best known for its elaborate monastery, while Monza to the north-east hosts the F1 Italian Grand Prix and World Superbike Championship.

Nearby Bergamo is the hub for cheap flights to Milan and it also has a historic old town, while to its east is peaceful Lake Iseo. A smaller lake is located by Varese, and artificial lakes also almost entirely surround the important medieval city of Mantua, seat of the Gonzaga court during the Renaissance.

Brescia to the north-west has monuments dating back to Roman times, while Cremona to the south-west has an impressive cross-shaped cathedral and huge belltower. This beautiful city is on the Po, Italy’s longest river which forms part of the Lombardy border.

Wherever you are staying, Booking.com has a fantastic range of accommodation including B&Bs, apartments and hotels in Lombardy.

Definitely a must-see city to visit in Northern Italy and I especially enjoyed seeing it during the Winter Olympics! Perfect Italian food everywhere we went even near the touristic Duomo area. Pastas, pizzas and focaccias were nothing like the ones we usually had in the US; even tiramisu tasted completely different (less sugar, more fluffy). For high-quality, authentic Ligurian-style focaccia, I wholeheartedly recommend La Focacceria - Fiordiponti dal 1982 on Via Cusani as it was our top choice for soft, crispy-edged focaccia within walking distance to the Cadorna metro station. I would also recommend Ristorante Flash (or Pizzeria Griglieria Flash). It is a casual, centrally located Italian restaurant at Via Bergamini 1 in Milan, known for large pizzas, pasta, and reasonable prices near the Duomo. Open daily from 12:00 PM to 1:00 AM, it serves traditional, hearty dishes like pistachio cream pasta and steak, but my favorites were the Caesar Salad and toasted Focaccia bread. Also, Ristorante Galleria inside the upscale Galleria Shopping Center featured wood-fired pizza and other tasty Italian food including the delicious Pasta l’Arabbiata in a welcoming indoor and outdoor setting with glass windows.

It's a small, but beautiful city.

It's a small, but beautiful city. It is easily accessible from the airport, with a bus that takes you through its main parts. It's perfect for a short trip (even a single day may be enough), if you're in the area. La Città Alta is especially gorgeous with great views and its iconic landmarks. Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore is a must-see. Food was also great. I ate pizza at Kindness Pizzeria Pignolo and Il Fornaio.

Amazing views!! Boat ride to Bellagio was great!! Views of the snowcapped mountains from Bellagio were awesome!! The town of Como itself was a little too urban. We went to a local restaurant on a side street and was greeted by a homeless man knocking on my car window, begging for money. We gave him our leftovers on the way out and he still continued to follow us and ask for money. I highly recommend Hotel Villa Flori. Make sure you get a lake view room. We got lucky and were upgraded to the lake view room. I had thought every room faced the water, but they have street view rooms. Which I’m sure are loud as the street is so close and the view is of a rock wall.

Brescia has so much to offer in terms of history and beautiful piazzas, as well as being within easy reach of lake Garda, Milan and Mantua. The Santa Giulia museum in particular was world class. Staying in Case Nuove for an overnight stop when arriving at Malpensa and continuing by plane or train the following day is extremely convenient. It’s very close to the airport, and the availability of airport transfers is a big plus, especially when going back and forth to the terminal. By car, it’s about an hour to Milano Centrale, while the train from Malpensa takes around 30 minutes, making onward travel easy and flexible.

We visited the first week of November so it was not overcrowded. Don’t think it would be good during the height of the travel season. That said, we were not aware that the ferries stopped running completely in November. So if you visit them and want to see other towns around the lake having a car would be helpful. But we made the best of it by visiting the thermal baths and spa in Sirmione instead.

Be careful with parking. Reading signs does not guarantee that you are safe. If you need to contact local police, then it's nearly impossible to reach them over the phone. You have to pay "tourist tax" - extra fee for being foreigner and not speaking Italian.

Close to the metro station, supermarket, small stores en small restaurants. Clean & nice apartment, nice and friendly owner and good communication. But unfortunately the apartment walls are not good insulated so we can still hear our neighbors conversations and their dogs barking at night making it difficult for us to sleep.
