ability to visit a wonderful medium size historic Tuscan city with amazing art and architecture. Combined with a great train service - we went to Perugia, Cortono, and Poppi on separate days out. And by bus to Aghnarhi. They were all great in different ways

Arezzo is definitely worth a visit.
Arezzo is definitely worth a visit. The Duomo is incredible and if you haven't made it to Rome to St Peters this comes a close second.
Arezzo is close to lots of other small Tuscan villages that are easy to access by driving and offers great experiences close by like pasta cooking classes, truffle hunting, wine tasting and fabulous restaurants.
Arezzo is easy to navigate and was a great base for our Tuscan holiday.

Arezzo is the perfect size for wondering around, and has an endless selection of excellent cafes and restaurants. The city is buzzing without being crowded and we saw no large groups of obvious tourists.
Despite it's modest size Arezzo is blessed with a world class selection of galleries and museums with exhibits clearly labeled in both Italian and English. Visit them all. The City is also very well connected by both train and bus, making places like Rome, Florence, Sienna and Cortona (a must see) easily accessible without a car. For the extra thrill, time your visit to take in the jousting festival (twice a year) or the monthly antique market.

Arezzo is one of those Italian cities that really rewards...
Arezzo is one of those Italian cities that really rewards you for keeping your plans simple. It’s “okay” in the best way—comfortable, historic, and not so overwhelming that you feel like you’re constantly rushing. You can wander comfortably, grab a coffee, and still make real progress seeing what matters. The city has a strong sense of place: medieval streets, thoughtful architecture, and local energy that feels lived-in rather than staged for tourists. You’ll get the vibe without needing a giant checklist.
What makes Arezzo especially good is that many of its most meaningful sights sit close enough to each other that you can stitch them together naturally on foot. You’re not just ticking boxes—you’re moving through a coherent experience. Add in the fact that the pace is relaxed, and it’s easy to enjoy the small details: viewpoints, charming squares, and shops where locals actually seem to spend time.
The good news? A two-day visit to Arezzo captures what you really need to see. You can cover the key historical areas, enjoy the atmosphere, and still have time for a slower meal.

Arezzo has a slower, more authentic feel than many better-known Tuscan destinations, with an extraordinary historic centre that is easy to explore on foot. Piazza Grande is particularly impressive, with its unusual shape and remarkable mix of medieval and Renaissance architecture.

Loved how safe Arezzo was, we enjoyed just wandering around the streets and the Piazza Grande was lovely. Really enjoyed the National Archaeological Museum, Museum of the Joust, The National Museum of Medieval and Modern Art, The Basilica Di San Francesco and the Fortezza Medicea.
Can highly recommend doing a pasta cooking class - Arezzo: Pasta and Tiramasu Cooking Class with unlimited Wine, with Antonella and Barbara was so much fun and delicious!

Probably the most comfortable stay we have had on our 9 weeks of touring and with private on-site parking. We wish we could have stayed longer as the Host Walter was so kind and thoughtful, and Arezzo so beautiful. He made sure we were well orientated, even mailing back some clothing I had left behind. The breakfast was fabulous and there are so many nice touches to make your stay easy and comfortable. This accommodation is perfectly located and I highly recommend. Thank you again Walter.

Fabio is a really nice and very helpful host. He showed us everything we need, the best places to see in Arezzo and also the best Pizzeria. Good to have a own parking lot near the appartment.

Incredibly stylish yet relaxed and welcoming in the buzzing heart of beautiful Arezzo. Fantastic interiors and amazing bar downstairs where you take breakfast. Also part of the hotel is about the most fantastic fashion store I’ve ever experienced.
