Beautiful garden, satisfying breakfast, lovely staff, nice facilities, quiet, big clean room. Ambulance siren now and then. Wifi wasn't great on the 2nd floor. About 35 minutes walk to train station. A bit of a stretch to and from centre but bus is available. All in all a great choice and good value. Would stay again and definitely recommend.

The hotel is in a restored historical building in a pastoral area with amazing views, the rooms we received were well equipped even though the floor was made of stone, it was heated and growling .outside it was raining and it was cold and the rooms were warm and pleasant, the beds were wide and comfortable some would say too soft, the bathroom was well equipped and warm. The breakfast was delicious and rich,
if there were more vegetables in the it could be perfect in my opinion.we also had dinner in the hotel restaurant, a delicious meal.

Located among undulating meadows and Chianti vineyards, Siena shines as a jewel of the Tuscan Renaissance, and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Experience the famous Palio di Siena horse race, catch the pulse of the city at Piazza del Campo, visit the beautiful Duomo cathedral…and fall in love with this charming city!
Founded by Etruscans around 900 BC, the city was first conquered by Romans and later by Lombards. The Middle Ages saw it becoming the independent and flourishing Republic of Siena, until its annexation to the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.
The economic difficulties that followed turned out to be a blessing for the preservation of its historic centre. Adorned with frescoes by Ghirlandaio and bass-reliefs by Donatello, Lorenzo Ghiberti, and Jacopo della Quercia, the Duomo represents the highest expression of this well-kept legacy. The shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, with the Palazzo Pubblico and the Gaia Fountain, is still the heart and soul of the city. Follow the labyrinth of narrow streets and passages that irradiate from there and you will be enchanted by its romantic atmosphere from ancient times.
The closest airports are Peretola Airport in Florence and Galileo Galilei International Airport in Pisa, though Guglielmo Marconi Airport in Bologna is also well connected. While planning your trip, don’t forget to check out the Siena accommodation deals on Booking.com!

Siena is just a perfect little jewel. The history...! Plus, it's less busy than Florence and is a great jumping off point for visiting other places in Tuscany. The food was good (AWAY from Piazza il Campo) and shops were plentiful.

One of my favorite destinations in Italy.
One of my favorite destinations in Italy. Saturated with history and art, with significant archaeological, historical and cultural/art destinations. Better enjoyed if you do aa little homework (Wikipedia--please donate to them) before going there and following up while you are there. Good restaurants abound and the city is perfect for wandering and people watching. A beautiful medieval city.

We stayed close to the Piazza Il Campo, and it was the best location! You're within walking distance to SO many restaurants, shops and attractions. It's a fantastic town. What we also enjoyed was renting a car and driving to nearby towns and hot springs. Awesome countryside and beautiful towns with incredible food and shops, all within an hours drive of Siena. Less crowded and nice than going to Florence, in our opinion.

A beautiful historic city, easy to walk, but can get crowded. Many places to eat, with honest local cuisine, if you get away from the tourist hotspots.
Piazza del Campo is splendid, the Duomo outstanding externally, but the queues to get in are daunting

The town is just large enough to offer lots to see but small enough to walk and explore. The duomo is gorgeous and the Piazza del Campo is a great place to eat and people watch. Parking is a challenge but taxis are fairly easy to get. We did struggle one rainy night since everyone seemed to be needing a cab. I googled getting a cab in Siena and found a phone number that helped us!

Stunning accommodation in the heart of Siena. Outstanding check in experience and incredibly welcoming hosts. The most comfortable bed we stayed in during the whole Italy trip!
They accommodated us last minute after the other hotel we pre-booked was so terrible we left after seeing the room.
This place in contrast was a welcome surprise. We loved our 1 night stay and would highly recommend it.
The hotel is very beautiful and cute. It has a very stylish design and very nice yard with lemon trees. The owner was very helpful and gave us the information about the nearest laundry where we cleaned our clothes. The bed was super comfortable and it is very quiet there so we had a nice sleep. Highly recommend for nature lovers and those who are looking for sth authentic in Italy!
The Hotel Athena was an excellent place to stay in Siena with a high level of service. When we arrived and parked our car, a staff member came down to greet us and help us with our luggage. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and it was a quick walk up to the center of town. We only stayed one night, but I could see it being a nice base for a longer stay in Tuscany.
The best stay we had during our 10 days and 3 hotels stay in Italy. The room was really clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great and the owners were friendly, helpful and wonderful. We will definitely visit again. The best place to stay in Siena hands down.
Awesome breakfast and coffee! The staff are so nice and helpful. It did feel more like a hotel than a B&B. Very clean and nice bathroom. Very good location for bus into main part of Siena. You can walk into town but we took the bus.
