Hotel Moderno 3 stars

Hotel in Siena

A few steps from the Church of San Francesco and close to the station, Hotel Moderno is close to the escalator for the historic centre of Siena. The position is excellent as you can reach the city center with escalators very close to the hotel. They were very nice with us, printing some documents we needed and allowing us to leave the car in their parking (7 euros now) several hours after our check-out. The breakfast was good and respectful of covid measures.

Hotel Santa Caterina 3 stars

Hotel in Siena

Hotel Santa Caterina is housed in an 18th-century villa just a few steps from Porta Romana. Enjoy breakfast out on the terrace with a view of the Tuscan hills. The views are breathtaking, the little garden the cutest thing, the personnel couldn’t be more attentive, nice and preempting the potential needs. Super close and easy access to the city and we were lucky to get the most unique room that was actually a loft with the beds upstairs and the bathroom and entryway downstairs.

Hotel Duomo 3 stars

Hotel in Siena City Centre, Siena

Set within a 12th-century mansion, the hotel is situated in the historical centre of Siena, near the cathedral and Piazza del Campo, and boasts spectacular views over the surrounding Sienese Hills. Very central location (amazing Duomo is only in a couple of steps away), surrounded by many restaurants and places to hang out and enjoy staying in wonderful Siena. Very helpful, careful, and polite staff (the lady at the breakfast was a real gem). The view on the roofs was nice and we really enjoyed the silence in this place. One of the best stays during our VF.

Hotel Italia 3 stars

Hotel in Siena

Hotel Italia is a charming 20-minute walk from Siena's Piazza del Campo. The escalator which connects the historical centre to Siena Station is 50 metres from the hotel. Buses stop just 30 metres... - Clean and spacious rooms - Well organised breakfast buffet, suitable for the pandemic restrictions. There was an open buffet but the serving was done by the hotel staff based on your requests - The breakfast was amazing, with a lot of choices. The lime tart was very good - Close to the train station, a 3 minutes walk from the end of the stairs from the station/mall. Also close to porta Camollia, in a very quiet area - The view from our room(3rd floor) and from the outdoor terrace was also nice - There was also an option to use the pool at another hotel in the same chain but we did not use it

Romantic Renaissance

Located among undulating meadows and Chianti vineyards, Siena shines as a jewel of the Tuscan Renaissance, and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Experience the famous Palio di Siena horse race, catch the pulse of the city at Piazza del Campo, visit the beautiful Duomo cathedral…and fall in love with this charming city!

Founded by Etruscans around 900 BC, the city was first conquered by Romans and later by Lombards. The Middle Ages saw it becoming the independent and flourishing Republic of Siena, until its annexation to the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.

The economic difficulties that followed turned out to be a blessing for the preservation of its historic centre. Adorned with frescoes by Ghirlandaio and bass-reliefs by Donatello, Lorenzo Ghiberti, and Jacopo della Quercia, the Duomo represents the highest expression of this well-kept legacy. The shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, with the Palazzo Pubblico and the Gaia Fountain, is still the heart and soul of the city. Follow the labyrinth of narrow streets and passages that irradiate from there and you will be enchanted by its romantic atmosphere from ancient times.

The closest airports are Peretola Airport in Florence and Galileo Galilei International Airport in Pisa, though Guglielmo Marconi Airport in Bologna is also well connected. While planning your trip, don’t forget to check out the Siena accommodation deals on Booking.com!
