This is not the first time we have visited the hotel-SPA, and we can say that in this case we found ourselves quite satisfied. Being able to swim in the thermal water pool is a wonderful experience. Also pleased that the thermal baths could be taken right in the room. The most valuable thing about the hotel is its location. Whilst the service was decent, it's accessibility to the main wine regions, and views in all directions was still the most important thing. Stepping out on the patio or climbing out of the pool we were directly frozen by the incredible beauty of Val d'Orcia. The staff were very attentive and tried their best to help. For example, the nearest bridge over the Orcia River was closed for repairs and we would have had to take a circuitous route to the restaurant. However, the member of staff at reception found out that the bridge was accessible at the weekend, even though all the navigators showed otherwise, and we saved a lot of travelling time. One of the most powerful experiences was a wine tasting in the Castle, conducted by the hotel sommelier. He told us about local wine in a wonderful, clear and interesting way, showed us vineyards, shared the secrets of their care and explained the peculiarities of each variety tasted. We were very impressed and grateful for this unique experience!

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Borgo San Luigi for our honeymoon, and it was nothing short of magical. Nestled amidst the beauty of nature, this charming retreat provided the perfect backdrop for our special getaway. Our spacious and impeccably clean room instantly put us at ease, and the luxurious bathroom was an unexpected delight. From the moment we checked in, the staff displayed the utmost professionalism and warmth, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was unforgettable. Their thoughtful touches included offering fantastic recommendations for nearby wine tasting, allowing us to truly immerse ourselves in the local culture. A highlight of our stay was dining at La Bianca Restaurant. It was an elite culinary experience, with gourmet dishes that delighted our taste buds, and the service was nothing short of exceptional. Overall, our stay at Borgo San Luigi exceeded our expectations in every way, and we can't wait to return in the future. It's a place where nature, luxury, and hospitality combine to create lasting memories. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a romantic and rejuvenating retreat!

The thermal spa facilities at the Hotel were exceptionally good. They were varied, open all day, very clean and well serviced by staff, both for towels, accessories and safety. All of the staff were very knowledgeable, helpful and provided us with the exact information we required to get the maximum benefit from the spa waters. The hotel staff were similarly helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The hotel drivers who undertook our transfers to and from Florence Airport to the hotel were particularly good: friendly, informative, polite and very safe drivers.

Siena is a great place to visit even who those who live in Italy. The Cathedral is spectacular and the town is super interesting history. Siena is a wealthy town, so the shopping is great and there are a lot of interesting antique, art shops. The cuisine is great and having an aperitif on the grand square is a must.

A beautiful historic town and one of our favourite stays on our 10-day Italy roadtrip. We traveled as a couple (in our 35-40's), and highly recommend staying at La Romantica Lolo, having a private wine tasting at Ercolani, dining at Ristorante La Grotta, and truffle hunting at Podere il Casale (15-min drive).

San Gimignano is well worth spending a few days in, especially if you want to explore the Tuscan countryside and visit a few wineries! Much better to spend three or five nights there instead of just a one day bus trip from Florence. Every day as the tourists were getting off the buses and heading into town, we were walking to our car to go wine tasting. By the time we arrived back in the late afternoon, the crowds were thinning, and we had the town to ourselves in the evening! A wonderful visit!!

The town is nice.

The town is nice. It is a quiet time of the year, but the merchants we encountered were friendly. The Terme Theia was ok, but the management inflexible when I tried to inform them of a booking error within 24hours of making it they did not reply to my emails, and when I spoke to the they said that once I paid there was no refund or changes. I prefer the Terme sensoriale, but unfortunately they are only open on weekends

The apartement was even nicer than pictures. There was oil and a bit of vinegar as well as salt and pepper. It would have been nice to have a few more amenities. The pool looked really nice but we did not have time to take advantage of it. Check in was easy even though we arrived very late at night. Same for the check out.

This is a wonderful place to stay, enchanting.

This is a wonderful place to stay, enchanting. The people who own and run the castle are very hands on and seem to care very much about what they do - and how they welcome and treat their guests confirms this. Kacy, Anotonio and Martha were all very helpful and welcoming and made every effort to make sure that we were comfortable and had what we needed, including accommodating my dietary needs at the last minute. Our room was lovely too. This is a beautiful castle in a such lovely location. My most impressive memory is watching the sunset in the distance, over the village roof tops, from the castle’s terrace, with glass of wine in hand. Breathtaking. The castle offers dinner occasionally. We had dinner one night and it was very good. There are good places to eat in the village, within walking distance and also a local bar. The Castle offers an honesty bar. Our breakfasts were very good too. We had a lovely stay and would like to think we will return. It is heartening to see people caring so much about what they do and it shows in every aspect of the castle.

I have been to Tuscany more times than I can count. This is my first time stopping in and staying in Colle di Val d'Elsa. The location is very close to all the major sites in Tuscany. Volterra and San Gimignano are extremely closeby as well as Chianti. There is a charm to the old town area of Colle di Val d'Elsa, not a ton of tourists like the other sites in the area.

We were in Siena for Christmas which was a wonderful time to be in the churches and museums without the crowds. The food and wine were sensational and the streets magical, bedecked in Christmas lights. 21st to 28th December optimum time before the crowds come for New Years Eve. Stayed at Torre dei Lambertini which was a perfect mix of ancient and modern and central for everything.
