Great loxation just by the squre and 5 min from train station. The building is nicly renovated. The room itself is not big but was designed with thought so it feels spacious. In the kitchen nice dishes and everything you need. Super clean! It felt as if we were the first guests.

Loved staying at NicoMat Rooms! Just around the corner from the town piazza. We had a very nice room, big enough for 2 person. Appreciated a comfortable sofa chair and small table in the room. Also a nicely filled mini bar fridge and tasty welcome cookies. Everything at this small hotel is made with attention to detail. The breakfast in the nice downstairs cellar is set up for self service and had a excellent selection! The owner and staff is very friendly and offered us to keep our luggage in the hotel until our train was leaving. Highly recommended to stay here for some nights in Domodossola. Grazie!

First time visiting Domodossola.

First time visiting Domodossola. We used it as a base for heading out on hikes and we took the "Centovalli" train to Locarno in Switzerland. The centre of the old town is really charming. It is a peaceful town, not a lot of tourists. We found it very restful. Have heard that it is really beautiful in the autumn as well so we are considering going back. There are also a lot of very nice small towns and villages in easy driving distance, not to mention a number of lakes (including Lago Maggiore).

Unfortunately my stay in Domondossola was just an overnight...

Unfortunately my stay in Domondossola was just an overnight one en route the Adriatic coast. I know a little of the town though and it has a long history, so for a visitor with time to spend digging about, there are a lot of interesting buildings and plenty of cafes hidden here and there ... It is, of course, on the way up to one of the major passes across to Switzerland, the Simplon, so many of mountain views are quite spectacular.

Friendly people, great location for day trips to Switzerland and lake maggiore, and beyond. Nice atmosphere and good vibes. Gelateria Voglia di Gelato is a great stop for lovely Gelato & Negroni - staff wonderful!

Very interesting and pleasing small northern Italian town.

Very interesting and pleasing small northern Italian town. Make sure you have a drink in the market square. There was an excellent outdoor wind-band music performance in a nearby square one evening. Lovely scenery and a short (1 hour) bus/train trip to Lake Maggiore which is well worth doing.

The historic piazza Mercato and the area there(just round...

The historic piazza Mercato and the area there(just round the cornner and ?100 m down a shopping street) was wonderful. Modern services with cafes/restaurants and interesting shops made up the perimeter of the piazza . Despite its comfort and accommodation of modern details the historic atmosphere and authenticity wasn't compromised. There was a fabulous bookshop (for almost any subject I think) but brilliant for alpinism/alpine history. Supermarkets were <1km away, train <1 km away, peaceful at night - you can't not love it which is why people from Switzerland cross the border to enjoy life in some warmer sun

The apartment is large, spacious, comfortable and well furnished. It has a terrace and a patio with a table and chairs in the backyard. In the kitchen you can find everything you are looking for. The internet is fast and reliable. The parking is private, convenient, and is in the yard in front of the apartment, which is a great advantage for the center of Domodossola.
