The locals tell me Albergo Italia is the best hotel in Piombino, and I think I know why. It's been here a long time and while it's an old hotel in a small town, it has everything you need and the service is excellent. I had an excellent breakfast and one day I woke up late and missed the regular breakfast time but the two ladies downstairs waited for me and let me have breakfast one hour after the close time. I had a misunderstanding with a service that was supposed to come to the hotel to pick up my suitcase as I was traveling alone and had difficulty with the luggage but when the service didn't show up the owner of the hotel kindly offered to take me to the station himself and gave up a Sunday morning to help me out. Things like these make all the difference in the world. They clearly care about their customer. The hotel is just as someone asked described, an old style hotel, and do not expect any luxuries or frills, but it was cozy and very comfortable. if I have any complaints it's only that the bed was a bit firm for my taste - although that's pretty standard around here. I honestly felt like I had everything I needed and felt very safe. The location is superb. You couldn't ask for better. This is the place to stay if you are staying in Piombino.

The beautiful smell of the fresh air Pino will send you back into eternity and make you wish that you stay longer. This place felt like home to me. as I walk out the door, I’m immediately greeted to the beautiful city square everyone smiling and greeting me. The ocean was a two minute walk to most beautiful beaches where I spent the day collecting shells. A pet stop for me on the way back to my lover, but I will definitely be making my way back soon

Patricio and his wife and dog met us at the door with a bottle of Prosecco and demonstrated everything. Size and amenities as advertised. Functional kitchen, reasonable internet, air conditioning if needed, also a fan. Centrally located, third floor walkup but with excellent safe stairs, two small balconies, Nespresso machine and microwave.

We stayed one night to bridge our Elba ferry departure the next day. We stayed in room number 2 and liked it very much. We were surprised about the size of the room because it’s so big and how nicely it is renovated. It has like an extra in-between room when you go from the bedroom towards the bathroom. The apartment is located in a side street right by the old city center by the sea. Within 5 minutes walking range you will find plenty of food and dining options which appear to be visited by locals as well. For breakfast, a voucher for a cappuccino and a pastry in a coffee place around the corner was included. The owner Luca is very nice and kind and takes good care of you. Overall we can highly recommend this location and would not hesitate to stay their again even for longer than just one night.
