Gallipoli is a fantastic small town. the old town is separated from the other part of the town by a bridge .Located on top of a rock the old town with the small castle make a very picturesque place where to take pictures from any corners. surrounded by turquoise colour water. In October the water's temperature is still warm for you to enjoy as well as to get a suntan. Lots of restaurants one better than another , offering fantastic panoramic view when sitting outside . The best way to get around gallipoli is on foot , cycling or a moped . In my opinion the best time to visit Gallipoli and surrounding is September ,october ,June and July . particularly good is October ,still warm ,good weather but very peaceful .
Everything was perfect, right from the initial contact with Vito. The room was fresh, clean and beautifully styled. Loved the terrace where breakfast was served and of course Christina was very special and a wonderful hostess who went that extra mile to look after us.
Gallipoli is quite a big Town and we didn't go into the NEW town. The old town is like many of Puglia's towns and villages, well cared for, old buildings restored lovingly, and given life again both for young and old alike. The town beach is amazing, as it is in the centre of the town and the water is crystal clear. There are a number of marinas with many types of yachts and cruisers of varying sizes. A great stopoff on your tour of Puglia.
The centre is lovely but the city is terribly organised. There is a big parking at the port which is the most convenient but in certain time frames it is impossible to find a spot, nobody there to manage the place and the cars are parked in compete anarchy. In theory the machines for payment accept cards but none of them really do so you can only pay with coins. The parking lots further to the centre are even more expensive. We tried a restaurant which looked nice but the food was really mediocre. The beach was very dirty. I will not go back.
The lovely costal walk, tour of Gallipoli Castle, walk through the back streets and lovely restaurants - great choice of fish restaurants. Easy place to navigate and nearby train station to reach Lecce and Ostuni - my main stay base. Ideally should stay for 2 nights and not one like I did.
The région of Gallipoli could be nice as there are beautiful sceneries and old towns but the whole area is incredibly dirty, garbage all over, on the side of the roads, in towns, everywhere. I had never seen such images in the civilized Europe. It’s such a shame!
Gallipoli
beautiful old palace; we stayed in the large room on the first floor, which is probably second best (there is a room with a private terrace and that is the best), but still fantastic - very comfortable, huge size, high ceilings, good en-suite bathroom, facing a quiet cobbled street breakfast was good (for the price we paid I didn’t even expect that to be included) staff was very friendly and helpful all in all great value for money, felt like being in a 4* hotel but without the alienation you get in those places
Gallipoli
If Gallipoli is the pearl of Salento, then Palazzo Presta is the pearl of Gallipoli. A stay in this accommodation is a wonderful experience from beginning to end. You can immediately see that clever minds have thought about every detail. Art and aesthetics mixed with travel relics, let the guest participate in a magical world. All the staff are exceptionally friendly, helpful and responsive to every request. The bar and food are of the highest quality. We highly recommend everyone to visit this hotel.
This is a very special hotel. It is an old palace of Gallipoli and the family welcome you into their home. It has been beautifully restored and the rooms are stunning. There are only 5 rooms so you are treated as part of the family. The breakfast is amazing. There are so many choices from fresh fruit to Moms fabulous homemade food. we had such a lovely time with Giuseppe, Fernando and Mom. This is the only place to stay in Gallipoli. We hope to go back some day.
We had the Junior suite with sea view. More than worth the money. Fantastic view. Very high end hotel with parking available. Easy to drop off luggage with service to and from the parking that is restricted to outside the old town. Restaurant across street is wonderful with great food and charming host Danny. Great breakfast, staff, and room with full size shower.
Gallipoli
Loved my stay at Cortine Moline, the location was perfect not far from the beach and deliciousness found in Gallipoli’s old town. The place was super clean and decorated tastefully. My room and terrace were spacious and the bed was very comfortable. A delicious breakfast with sea views made each day more wonderful. The staff was attentive and welcoming.
The owners, Alberto and Ivana who were hospitable and warm hearted. Alberto recommended a restaurant called Osteria del Vico which was the best seafood restaurant we've been in Italy! The quality of seafood there was exceptional. The room was beautifully decorated.
Gallipoli
The place was absolutely beautiful. The location is perfect to soak in Gallipoli old town. We were made to feel very welcome and communication was great throughout. Can say it was our best accommodation experience across our road trip in Puglia, 100% recommend.
