The Ducal Palace and Mantua Cathedral are just a few steps from Hotel dei Gonzaga, set right on the beautiful Sordello Square. It offers free Wi-Fi throughout, and a sweet and savory buffet breakfast.... We stayed at the hotel for work meetings and to be able to be central for the evenings. The hotel was excellent, the staff especially helpful, and the location was fantastic. We will definitely try to book the same hotel for the same event next year

Albergo Bianchi Stazione is set right in front of Mantova Train Station, near Piazza Mantegna and a short walk from the historic center. Rooms offer air conditioning and satellite TV. We booked this hotel to be near the train station since we were leaving very early. It was totally quiet - unexpectedly so. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. It is directly across the street from the train station entrance, so couldn't have been easier. The stand-out though was the staff - friendly, knowledgeable and professional.

Grand Hotel San Lorenzo, Hotel Broletto, and Hotel Leon D'Oro got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Mantova.
A beautiful old town with fantastic typically Italian old style fortified stone buildings. Walking around was fascinating. Unfortunately I wasn’t there long enough to enjoy and appreciate all that Manitova had to offer. I would return to explore more. The hotel was in a vehicle restricted area of the old town. I wouldn’t have dinner in the hotel as they weren’t accommodating to my parking requests! Loads of nice looking restaurants and bar/cafes in that area. Almost spoilt for choice. I had dinner in Scaravelli Restaurant in the Piazza delle Eribe, which was good and value for money.
This is a great location for a solo traveler as people are helpful . Make a point to talk to the docents as they are eager to inform. Particularly helpful was the docent at Mantegna’s house. Wear comfortable shoes as the cobble stones are actual river rocks on most of the piazzas. A pair of thick soled shoes help. Also, take an hour boat ride with Andes for 10€. It’s a nice way to understand how Mantova engineered the Mincio River to improve it’s economic power. TAnd of course, try all the food and pastries, it’s a just delicious
The Palazzo Te is one of the most amazing spaces I have seen in Italy--and I have been travelling in Italy for 40+ years although I only just now made it to the Palazzo Te. The rest of the town is very nice, too, and merits perhaps a two night stay (I only had one). We had dinner in the square in front of the Ducal Palace on a Saturday night--when the downtown was mobbed with residents and tourists enjoying a nice Spring night. It was very pleasant. But the Palazzo Te will blow you away--guaranteed!
Art history major, so I’m bound to love the Mantegna and Alberti works that Mantova is justly known for, however the city itself has charm and a genuine vitality that makes it a great destination even if you never saw a single fresco. Coincident with my visit was an installation of sculptures in the river, so Mantova is reminding us that art has a civic role to this day. I hope to come back, as my less than 24 hours didn’t do it justice. Had dinner at “Bar” on Piazza della Herbe and food was outstanding with a lovely staff. Also grabbed a quick and delicious lunch at Pizzeria da Ketty.
Mantova is magical and well worth visiting. Our highlights were the squares with incredible architecture and the ambience/ atmosphere which is laid back and calm, street cafes, wonderful food and the Mantovian pride in local produce. Palazzo Ducale and Castell St Andrea Basillica, the Rotunda stood out for us, but there are so many amazing buildings and frescoes. Boat trip is well worth the 10 euro charge, fantastic views of the skyline and of wildlife, herons, cormorants, swans, lotus flowers. Just lovely sitting out and people watching amongst incredible architecture and atmosphere, Mantova is its own world and well worth a visit.
Mantova is an incredible city. Do not hesitate one second even if it seems a bit "off road" compared to usual destination. It is worth every penny: every museum is full of wonders, the atmosphere in the center is lovely, the food delicious. Do not miss out!
Mantova
Wonderful and lovely room with great contemporary interior design and very welcoming hosts right in the center of Mantova. Enjoyed every moment spent there. Big plus: cold water was served in a refrigerator outside of the room. parking is not included but as a guest one can get and pay for a special permission to drive to the hotel and park in blue marked parking spots in the city of Mantova (at the time of our stay). The hosts were very helpful in getting this permission.
One of our best Stays in Italia. The friendliest Personal we ever saw. The room was clean and comfortable. One of the best was the location directly in the center. The hotel has also a nice roof terrace with view to the center. Also terrific was the breakfast: There was all you would like: fruits, best sweets of the region, mueslis, sparkling wine, bacon, eggs, yogurt.. it was so wonderful. thanks you so much for this wonderful night!
Mantova
The host (Adamo) is very friendly. He takes time to give many useful advices on Mantova (which is a very very nice city !) : Restaurants, parkings, places to visit. The room (for 4 people with 2 large beds) is very comfortable, clean and modern. This is really a very very good quality / price ratio. And Mantova is a great place to visit ! A very good experience in Italy.
Mantova
This hotel it is a quite small and very well managed, it is divided in two main buldings distan maybe 50 or 60 mts between them, near a big parking lot and near at least 3 places where you can have a good local and traditional food. Staff very very polite and helpfully Very close to downtown, indeet walking no mora than 10 mintes you re in the heart of Mantova
Mantova
Location was good, easy walk to center of Mantova and right opposite train station. Close to cycle paths that follow the waters edge. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Air conditioning worked well and there was a small fridge in the room. The breakfast looked nice but costs extra, so I guess it is not really a Bed & Breakfast despite the name.
Mantova
great location amazing breakfast bag chock full of delights that included yogurt, fruit, a bottle of juice, small nutella and jam, a pastry a sandwich with a taste of Mantovan cold cuts, extra piece of bread, butter. This on a daily basis great espresso machine that made excellent cappuccinos comfortable beds and form shaping pillows Great smelling soap
The hotel is so close to Palazzo Ducale, practically on the doorstep of the Rotunda and not too long a walk away from Palazzo Te either. We spent very little time in the room but it was a super comfy spot to come back to at the end of the day. The room was very spacious and the air conditioning saved us in the summer heat.
Mantova
The hotel was very new and clean. We checked in off-line but everything worked very well. The rooms were basic but we did not miss anything. It was 37 degrees outside but the AC kept the room cool (and floor AC is much more comforyable than the normal one). Breakfast was very good. We really liked this place!
we stayed for one night and were really happy with our stay at the Hotel Casa Poli. The room was very comfortable and well maintained The staff led by Alfonso were a great and a pleasure to meet The town of Manatova also had more going for it than we expected
Mantova
Very good value for money for this family run B&B. 15 min drive to Mantova center makes it a perfect base, but car is necessary, however there is ample parking space. Spacious room, breakfast varied and on demand. Dog accepted (and loved!)
great location, friendly staff, large room and bathroom. Our suitcase got stuck in transit and the hotel staff worked with the airline co to get it back to us.
