Pistoia is an interesting place to visit. If you drive in parking at stadio and using park and ride system is the easiest except bus drivers don't speak English so make sure you know what to ask for in Italian. Locada del Capitano del popolo is a fabulous place to eat catering for vegetarians and gluten free as well as those who eat everything and if you have room desserts are exquisite so try and save some room. If gelato is to be enjoyed you absolutely must go to gelateria monteroas and enjoy some amazing tasting ice cream with a huge array of flavours. Finally Pistoia is perfectly located for visiting other major locations as well as some more local attractions such as the gardens of garzoni situated in collodi with pinocchios everywhere and also Monte Carlo is another great place to eat with amazing choice and off the beaten track fir tourists so opportunity to taste real Tuscany.
I've been coming to Pistoia for 14 years, I simply love the place, I'd live there if I could.. ❤️❤️😃😃😃 The locals are friendly and the food is wonderful and its a cheaper place to stay than more touristy parts but you can use it to go to some other wonderful cities..
Many history lessons here. While we were visiting there was a medieval event in the part near the fort. A great day out for families with many activities to participate in. We also visited the subterranean area beneath the hospital. The tour included a visit to the very early medical school and the anatomy room. We also saw an exhibition of Marino Marini in the Palazzo Fabroni. So many churches and areas of historic buildings. Wonderful town to visit for 3 nights.
We loved the baroque town, the ambiance and the restaurants, the food. It is very easy to get around central Pistoia on foot. We ate in two restaurants right behind the Baptistery, bioth were great, though in a different style. We spent 2x1 day, it was way too short.
The Marino Marini museum was spectacular and the embroidery museum was charming. especially due to Anna, whongave me a personal guided tour. The Taverna Gargantua in Piazzetta Ortaggio (where the fruit and vegetable market is) was amazing, delicious local food. The main market was disappointing, cheap clothes and such.
I am surprised that no more tourists visit this most interesting old city. Artistically, it has some excellent old churches (not only the Duomo). The highlights of our visit, however were the excellent displays at the Ospedale del Ceppo and the Palazzo dei Vescovi museums (we were given a wonderful guided tour of the latter).
In the centre of Pistoia, one of Tuscan gems, but the private parking site is easy accessible, even for larger cars. Located in old palace with all its beauties, as well as shortcomings, such as old staircase, thin walls, but you can not only visit historic place but directly live in it. Emanuela was always ready to provide assistance or any help or aid and to make the stay really comfortable. Lovely breakfast with home cooked pastry (the smell of fresh baking invited us and made us to feel at home).
Pistoia
We had a wonderful stay at Dimora Storica Palazzo Puccini! Fabiana, our host and the hotel manager, was friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable The breakfast was exceptional! We found it to be very conveniently located, as it is right in the center of Pistoia, just a short walk from the train station, museums and San Zeno Cathedral. This where we will stay when we return. Thank you Fabiana!
The surrounding grounds of the hotel were well tended and the garden setting for dining was lovely. The pool area was spacious and there were always loungers available. Pistoia is a beautiful, medieval Tuscan city and is vibrant with restaurants and bars in the evening. Although the Villa Cappugi is on the outskirts of the town it is only about a 20 minute walk to the old centre - as long as it is not too hot!.
Pistoia
self check-in anytime is a great opportunity for those, who comes late. apartment is really large, you can easily travel there 2 couple and feel comfy (except 1 bathroom). everything was clean, comfy bed, lots of kitchen staff. about 10 minutes walk from the pistoia train station. restaurants, food market in the morning, grocery shops, gelateria - everything is right under your windows.
Friendly family run hotel. As they said, the rooms were humble, however, it was clean & comfy & the air conditioning was a big benefit. Also being able to park in front of the hotel was great. The breakfast was plentiful with delicious home made cakes. Luna, their border collie dog was delightful... gentle, friendly & obedient. For our one night stop it was perfect.
Pistoia
The apartment is beautiful and clean. Very comfortable. Great little kitchen with nice new appliances. Location couldn't be better in our opinion! Just steps from the front door are many different bar and restaurant options and a very lively square. Short and easy walk to everything. We are very happy with our stay at this apartment in Pistoia.
Pistoia
The location of B&B Il Grifone was very convenient to all of the sights of Pistoia. Sabrina was a perfect hostess, and showed us a map with everything we'd like to visit. The room was bright, airy and best of all quiet - which allowed for a great nights sleep.
Everything was perfect from check in, to helpfulness with parking, breakfast, to room comfort. Best of all it was so quiet even though my room was street facing - the most peaceful hotel I've stayed at and right in the Center of everything.
Pistoia
This B&B is located in a very beautiful zone of Pistoia. The room was big and very comfortable. All the appliances needed were there. It's very quiet and the staff people are incredibly nice! The sunset view was just awesome!
Pistoia
It's a little bit outside of pistoia, but that's OK. The room was very comfortable, also the size and it was really very very clean. An extra bonus for this. Breakfast was ok. Typical for Itlay.

Excellent place, clean, modern, cozy. We really felt like home. Fabio, Terry, Enrico, Marinella were super friendly to the point I consider them my new friends in Pistoia. Highly recommended.
The atmosphere, the view, the luxurious rooms and the generous public spaces in the hotel. Good breakfast. Nice counter staff with willingness to help.
Lovely hotel outside of Pistoia. Rooms were decorated well and the common dining area was very pretty. Swimming pool was very nice and well maintained.
The location is at the centre of Pistoia. The staff are helpful.
Pistoia
It's a beautiful spot and very nice pool, bar and leisure areas. Gugilia did her best to make you feel comfortable and was available as needed. Helped with things to see and places to visit in the area. She communicated very well in English. It's in a very scenic location, very quiet and well off the "beaten trail."
Pistoia
exceeded expectations, lush, beautiful, carefully cared for
