Ragusa is fine as city but catering to tourist is minimal I met an exceptional Taxi driver Roberto who is a hard worker and very professional he was a great help and a gentleman For the older traveler a lot of the terrain is hilly The town has so much potential but the people are not interested in tourism The bus service is good The train station was locked when I went there during the day The food and the prices are very good as in all of Sicily
Ragusa Ibla is a charming old town with history on every step, old beautifully preserved palaces, baroque churches, a very nice park (Giardino Ibleo), good restaurants... Easy to get there by bus directly from Catania airport (Etna trasporti, leaves almost every hour, takes 1,5 h). Half an hour from Marina di Ragusa and sandy beaches (also reachable by bus from Ragusa bus terminal, 30'). Warmly recommended :)
Ragusa is a beautiful place and more than lived up to our expections. A delight to wander it’s streets and with amazing views it is a gem in Sicily. A memorable stay and our accommodation was excellent and our hosts so hospitable and helpful.
Ragusa is a wonderful place for a few nights but also a fantastic base for a longer holiday to allow you to visit Marina de Ragusa and Modica and Sempieri which are just perfect beaches with the opportunity to surf, sunbathe or just eat and watch the sea and passers by. Great walking, stunning scenery and very friendly locals.
Like most areas in this part of Sicily, part of the experience is walking around the quaint streets, churches, and testing out the gelaterias. Ragusa Ibla is a cute town, but I would not spend more than half a day. We arrived in the afternoon, and left the next morning, which was perfect. We enjoyed a great salami and cheese platter at the Salumeria Barocco on the corner, would highly recommend.
The little train ride that took us from the square to the main sights was fun. The views at every turn were stupendous. Our best meal was breakfast served by our host Vincenzo on Intervallo’s rooftop.
The hotel has been recently opened with all rooms elegantly and stylishly furnished, in an heritage part of town in a completely restored old building. There a big terrace with a stunning view of the old town where you can sit at breakfast or any other time of the day . All rooms face the same side and enjoy the magnificent view . The breakfast was amazing but more than anything the owners personally run it and they are always there to help and recommend what and where to go to enjoy this amazing corner of Sicily.

Simone is very nice person, who wants to help people stays at his place. Ifyou want to be at Ragusa ibla you have to walk a lot :) it’s not a matter where you stay ! Simone’s house is in middle of two part of Ragusa.. so for location 9/10 ! He is coming every morning to prepare breakfast for people who stays. Of course my expectation was not high, because of that i won’t rate this part. Reasonable accommodation if you take into account the ragusa city conditions in general. My view was amazing from balcony !
We were very pleasantly surprised by Itria Palace. It is posted as a one-star hotel, and it was so much more than that. It is conveniently located for visiting the lovely Ragusa Ibla, there is ample parking right next door, the breakfast was excellent, and the staff could not be more welcoming - especially Renata at the front desk and Masha at breakfast. The bed was super-comfortable. The view outside our window was fabulous and there was the soothing sound of a babbling brook when we opened our window.

The managers were so helpful. They assisted us in arranging transportation. The location of the hotel was close to the main square. I had rented an apartment in the hotel with a refrigerator and area to cook. It would be ideal for a family of four. Very comfortable. Loved Ragusa and this charming hotel.

Location and view are the best—small square with church, was sooo quiet even at new year's night. Room is pretty cozy, there's everything you need. Place is just few steps from the center, and maybe 15 minutes to Ragusa Ibla. Highly recommend!
