The breakfast was excellent, and the dinner was also great, like a home cooked meal just for us. The rooms are nice and clean. Staying here was really pleasant.

Beautiful rooms & facilities with lovely local artwork by the owner’s wife throughout. Brand new gym and pedicure room on lower level. Owner and his family & staff treated us like family, always attentive to our every need. Dinner & breakfast were the best meals I had in Jordan.

I would say that everything was excellent! I had numerous mishaps due to Royal Jordanian Airlines and having to buy additional flights due to their problems. However the Black Iris were more than accommodating. They had my room ready for me all 3 nights including the extra pillows and blanket. I was tired from the immense jet lag so amenities weren't an issue for me, but a quiet, clean, and safe room were. It appears to be a family run hotel. The only difficulty I have when traveling is that I'm someone who drinks a lot, not alcohol, but soda's and such so staying at a hotel such as this I didn't even think to ask if they had anything available. The next morning I woke to find that not only did they have all of that but it was cold! A young man was waiting for me to wake and made me an extremely large breakfast and a young woman was ready to serve me that along with traditional falafel (to die for!) as well as flat bread and hummus. I also received eggs made to order and bacon. I checked out and was on my way. The only difficulty I had is that there is a "Black Iris" next door and I believe it was an older hotel so I was extremely confused as to where I was supposed to go. But it took me a bit and then I discovered it was right next door. I blame it on the jet lag and the problems with the airlines. Don't miss this gem while visiting Jordan!!
The new and modern Rumman Hotel is a cozy, family-run business. It is quietly located only a 10-minute walk from the historic center of Madaba, also known as the City of Mosaics.

I was on business travel and could have picked either Amman or Madaba for my stay. I like Madaba much better since it is not as busy and vast as Amman, everything I need (restaurants, shops) is in walking distance to the hotel (5 to 10 mins). Madaba also has some sights like old churches and historical mosaiqes worth visiting. In my view, for pure touristic reasons, two days in Madaba might be sufficient, but for me as a business traveller, I like the town very much to spend my evenings. Madaba can also be used as a starting place for excursions into the surrounding (Mount Nebo, Jordan valley, Amman etc.).

Other than the popular attractions, Madaba is a great place to stay at the begenning or end of one's Jordan trip as it is close to Queen Alia airport (closer than Amman).
It is also a better shopping experience (for arab/muslim clothing) than Amman, as driving inside Madaba is much easier than Amman. Prices seemed to be better as well.

Madaba is one of the most interesting places in Jordan and the good news is that it's not that touristy! The typical Middle Eastern city with its busy life, colourful streets and simple vibe, is the christian stamp of Middle East - it's a remarkable dialogue between the most important empires that ruled there - nabatheans, romans, bizantines, islamic, and it's covered with the most impressive mosaics.
It's a great city to feel the true Jordanian vibe with all its hospitality, joyfulness and historical interest - without tourist traps.

Take a little time to discover this city which is worth more than just visiting the church and Mount Nebo. We have spent a very nice evening in a restaurant we found during our visit. Unexpected and memorable!

Very friendly people and fantastic places to visit, including the mosaic museum. Great place to relax by shopping in the bazaar and eating on the street. The city looks safe and people are very friendly and supportive! Places that must be visited are Saint George Church, Saint John Church, Archeological Museum, and Mosaic Museum. Enjoy fantastic meals and restaurant services after souvenirs shopping.

I think the price is fair and the accommodation in total okay. The staff was excellent (!!) but pls don’t expect more than easiest standard. I wished to have a bed light and a little more comfortable beds.
But, Samar and his wife who spoke English well were super-friendly prepared dinner and opened the gate at 4am!
(What I found semi-pleasant was that the gate was closed after my arrival (8pm) and no chance to get out of the premises.)
We have found great people working there, that are willing to help and support tourists. The atmosphere was almost like in family. The hotel is placed in the middle of tourist district in Madaba. One of its greatest feautures was opened roof with restaurant and believe - it was unforgettable sight! There is a parking 4 minutes walk from there. I definately recomend this place!
Cosy hôtel in the center of Madaba. The room is very confortable and there is a spacious rooftop, where its lovely to take the breakfast.
Mohamed and Farah where really welcoming and their advice where precious. Thanks a lot, we had a great experience here !
Very good airy hotel with clean and quite modern rooms (could sleep 4 if you wanted) with wifi.
Gave you a map of Madaba with highlights on arrival. Not far from the central attractions.
A private car park just around the back.
Edward and his family made us feel so welcome! The hotel was right in the centre of Madaba - within walking distance of all the sights. Edward went out of his way to help us in any way he could. Couldn’t recommend more!
Best value for money hotel we stayed in in Jordan. Great staff, clean and comfy family room with modern bathroom. Would not stay anywhere else in Madaba.
