Clean, well run, friendly team.. Stunningly beautiful location surrounded by hills, trees and lake. Onsen was. Well looked after and also had a great sauna. Autumn colours were amazing. Beautiful viewpoint nearby.

A wonderful Japanese hotel - the onsen looks out over the countryside, the meals were superb, using fresh seafood and varied tastes, and the proximity to Sandankyo made for excellent exploring options.

We highly recommend this place, especially because the host goes above and beyond. He helps with transport and other practicalities and has a great movie selection when you are tired after your hike along the gorge. A brand new hostel with amazing space themed sleeping pods that were extremely comfortable and private. There is room for luggage storage at the front of the dorm as well as near your assigned pod. The bathroom is clean and the showers were really nice to use.
