Located just a 10-minute drive from Happo One ski slopes, Reposer Hakuba offers cozy and rustic private rooms in a large log cabin. The room felt bigger than I was expecting. Especially for 2 people with big suitcases filled with ski/snowboard gear. We didn’t feel crowded at all & this was after having 1-bedroom apartments in Niseko, Hokkaido 2 days before going to Nagano. The little sofa wasn’t expected so it was a comfortable surprise and when it wasn’t snowing, we had a beautiful view from the room/sofa. The room was very clean & the bathroom too. We had a lot of stuff to hang up every day after being on the mountain & there was a lot of space to hang things up by the room entrance. The drying room off of the hotel lobby was convenient too. We left boots, gloves & skis/board in there every night. The hotel staff picked us up and dropped us off at JR Hakuba Station and that was very convenient. They also dropped us off at Rhythm Ski Rental shop to get our other gear and Rhythm has a shuttle service too so they brought us back. We also got a couple rides into town and to the Happo One Gondola once or twice which was great but I think that’s not something they do in a normal non-corona year when every room is full. It was really quiet the first 3 nights there so I think we were just lucky that they were being so nice. We also walked into town every afternoon & evening & it was closer than I thought it would be. I think Echoland street/area with cafes/bars & restaurants was only about 12 to 15 minutes away and the walk is scenic. It was also not too far to walk the other way towards the gondola to get to other restaurants and bars and a couple of onsens as well. Probably 15 minutes too. I really liked the log cabin atmosphere and it felt like being in a cabin in the Colorado Rockies or Canadian Rockies which felt like a great escape within Japan after being stuck here due to corona international travel restrictions for the second winter in a row.

Many families visiting Hakuba loved staying at Monkey Rider, White Horse Hotel, and Bears Den Mountain Lodge.
I went there during the Green Season (July). There's a lot of stuff to do - weather permitting. Mountain biking, Hiking, Paragliding, Hot-air balloons, a 1hr-trip away from the beach. Good place to escape from the Tokyo humidity.
Hakuba, at least for winter, has much to offer Snowboarders and Skiers. Depending on your skill level there are places that will offer you more at your level. My opinion Goryu is great if you are learning. The slopes are gradual, wide and plentiful. If you like park I can only recommend 47 as I'm not a park rider. If you like powder and trees I "hear" that Cortina is the best but Iwatake was fun a few weeks ago with lots of powder. However there are a few flat spots that if you don't have enough speed you're skating. Tsugaike has Burger King, a plus in my book, and the runs are fun. I haven't covered all the runs on all these locations. I can tell you that Happo One is a must when conditions are good. Now after skiing Echoland offers many places to eat as well as the places near Happo One Gondola area. Depending on where you stay you will need to grab a taxi to reach these places. Depending on how long your stay is I recommend Air BnB or other apartment and house style locations so you have access to a kitchen with refrigerator. Plenty of places to shop for food.
Beautiful place. Loved the weather and fine snow. It was good to see all details online about ski lessons from various schools. It would have been awesome also to have some campaign details known in advance from the schools. Overall a great vacation.
My family could only squeeze together a short weekend trip to Hakuba, but we made the most out of our time there. On the first day my wife, son, and daughter went canoeing on lake Aoki with Dave from Evergreen Outdoor Adventure. In the afternoon they met up with my daughter and I (we spent the day at Hakuba Iwatake MTB park). While they waited for us to finish our last runs down the mountain they took the gondola up and enjoyed the incredible views at the top of Hakuba Iwatake. On the second day my children spent the morning at HakuBounce, while I had the opportunity to take my bike over to Air Time Hakuba. We had a wonderful time at each place!
A hikers paradise. There are so many incredible mountains and views with different levels of difficulty so that anybody can enjoy themselves. Personally hiked up Mount Shirouma from Tsugaike - the views were breathtaking and the summer highland flowers were stunning.
Hakuba valley is one of the most magical places we've visited in Japan. The Japanese Alps under snowfall are just breathtakingly beautiful, as is the village of Hakuba. Everyone we came across be it at a restaurant, bar, cafe, ski rental/ski resort staff etc were so very friendly, accommodating and just made for a wonderful experience. You can tell the locals are happy to see and assist people visiting their town and are pleased for the service travelers bring, the sense of community in Hakuba is tangible, neighbors helping neighbors, such a lovely place. Wish we would have stayed longer. Highly recommend visiting this magical little village, you won't regret it!
Hakuba
Exceptional service from Larma, Sachi and Tom. They help every step of the way, from pick ups at the bus station to drop offs to restaurants in Echoland and your trips to the onsen/atm/supermarket. The breakfast is great and the apartment was clean, comfortable and perfect for a week in Hakuba. They also know which ski fields are best for your family and the day’s conditions, dropping you at the free shuttles just up the road. Then they even sorted out our bags that were sent to Narita on Black Cat. Thanks guys, you rock!

The house was a really good size for a family of 4 and could easily accommodate more. The host left us a very thoughtful food package. It had a lot of useful appliances, including good heaters in every room. The ofuro was really nice after a day on the slopes. Also the winter view from the ground floor tatami rooms was really lovely. The location was great for all the ski resorts as well as a lovely stroll to Echoland's main strip. We also enjoyed walking along the nearby river for a nature fix.
Staff was excellent! Dana was a gem & went far beyond the call of duty to help with coordinating some personal logistics for us. Friendly lobby area where we played cards & had drinks. Friendly breakfast staff & good food. Small, private onsen that was quite hot & relaxing. Location was superb. Middle of Happo One Village. 5 min walk to bus terminal to move around area. Great rooftop view of mountains! Helpful hotel bus transport available.

One can only like everything in the apartment. It had everything right from large bedrooms to kitchen equipments. The apartment is so near to Iwatake ski resort gondola station (which is possibly the main attraction of Hakuba). The owners Daniel and Ayako were so helpful and supportive. I will visit this place again if I ever come to Hakuba and I recommend everyone to stay here and experience the please stay and great hospitality of the owners.
Staff there are very professional and super friendly. They take care of you from ski rentals, giving you ride back and forth to the ski lift. The location is convenient to Happo One. Sits in the woods of beautiful Shirakaba trees. The restaurant is the highlight with authentic French with local produce as ingredients. The dining room is romantic and sits in the snow covered woods of Shirakaba trees. Fantastic.
The exterior of the building and surrounds were pretty. The rooms were small but clean, warm and inviting. The bus stop for the ski resort shuttles was right outside which was fabulous. It was a 10 minute walk to services, bars and restaurants. The offer of pick up and drop off to the Hakuba Bus Station was very helpful on arrival and departure.
Hakuba
Never have I stayed at a place so welcoming and hospitable. The owners are two amazing people that want to ensure each guest has an amazing Hakuba experience. ✅ Transport support ✅ Hire gear support ✅ Itinerary guidance ✅ Food recommendations ✅ Home made meal options ✅ Great continental breakfast ✅ Proximity to free ski resort shuttle bus
The free included breakfast was basic, but very nice to get you going for a long day of skiing. The location is good, even though it was not possible to ski down to the hotel as most slopes were closed due to lack of snow. Very convenient the free shuttle services connecting the hotel to the other ski resorts, such as Hakuba 47/Goryu!
The hosts Toshi and Meg were amazing! Very welcoming and always helpful. The place is clean and great for anyone wanting to be close to Hakuba Goryu ski fields. Only a 5 minute walk and shuttles that go every 30 minutes from the corner of the street. It is good for the price. Great hostel, would definitely stay again!
Hakuba
This is a great place to stay in Hakuba! Highly recommend staying here. It was perfect for our family of three (including a 5 yr old). It is cozy, clean, great food and the owners are absolutely lovely and made sure that we had everything that we needed.
The buffet breakfast was very good. Staff were friendly and very helpful with information. Locker storage for skis was convenient. Free shuttle bus stop at the hotel to Hakuba47 and walking distance to Happo one slopes. Happy hour was a plus.

Very helpful host with good English. Best is the onsen outdoor - we enjoy it everyday! Decent location around 5min to Hakuba church bus stop which has free shuttle bus to goryu /47/ Happo one ski resort. Very cosy breakfast served 8-8:30

Taka the host was friendly and so knowledgeable about all things Hakuba. Location is on the ski shuttle route and a short walk to lots of great restaurants around Echoland. Will definitely stay again next year!
Ski in ski out to Happo One Great service from staff Bernd and Naoko san were amazing and talked to all guests The restaurant in the hotel was nice and served good food (both breakfast and dinner)
completely enjoyed my stay at this place. loved the location as the lifts were just a few mins walk away and appreciated how friendly and helpful everyone was. grateful to justin for making sure that my rentals were right for me, especially the set-up of the bindings; greg for picking me up at the bus terminal though it was past 9pm; felipe for the great breakfast and excellent song recommendation; and meg, whom i only talked to briefly but was just altogether lovely.
The clean bright room, the delicious cooked breakfast, the assistance with arranging lift tickets, ski hire, tours, transfers and the provision of restaurant and ski field advice. The shuttle to the ski areas in the morning really gives the day a boost. The Managers and Staff were all delightful and went the extra mile consistently. Highly Recommended.
What an absolutely fabulous stay! Tony and his family are just the kindest, nicest people and they really went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. Food was great, rooms and beds super comfortable and the evening drinks at the bar a perfect way to round off the day. can’t wait to visit again!
The onsen was amazing! There are also drying lockers so you can store your wet outdoor gear there instead of in your hotel room.
