From the balcony of the apartment has a fantastic ocean view. The beach is long and just 5 min walk from the apartment. The ocean is clean and blue. The sand is fine and the beach is not crowded. Apartment size is big and comfort for 4 adults.

Super friendly staff with good tips about Shimoda (challenge: try the nearby public bath). Flexibility for check in and out is always appreciated. Spotlessly clean. Good cooking facilities. And nice music!

The location is a little far from the station, but there are parking spaces for those who drive, and there is a tennis court outside the house for exercise. The owner is very enthusiastic and will make you a pot of coffee in the morning.

Takashi and family run a wonderful hotel, everybody was so polite and friendly. Each room is slightly different, I stayed in Asuka which had a classic nautical vibe which I loved. Great views and a delightful outdoor shower/bath. The two spas onsite were a lovely experience at the end of the day. Oh and the breakfast was amazing!

Nice stay in Shimoda. The hotel is run by a Chinese couple. They are very friendly and helpful. Although the hotel is a bit old, the space is spacious, onsen is big, the staff are friendly and polite. The hotel is just opposite the ebisu island and the view is spectacular. If you self drive, there's a steep slope to turn into the hotel. No nearby restaurants around, so probably need to drive out (about 10-15mins) to the town area or request to dine in. Food that was prepared by the hotel was sumptuous.

I'm really glad I booked this hotel🤗 It was perfect. The staff were very friendly, and the location was great. We loved relaxing in the onsen after our trip. There were plenty of parking spots, and the dinner made us feel like royalty. Thanks for the host.

The Japanese restaurant was exceptional. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. (The manager dealt with a particularly difficult guest ahead of me in the queue in a very polite and professional manner, more than the guest deserved in my opinion) the rooms are spacious, the outdoor baths delightful. View can’t get any better.

I don't think it stated that the owner stays in the same...

I don't think it stated that the owner stays in the same premises. The eco products' aim is good. Considering the owner stays there, the bath products were empty on the 3rd day, so I had to go and get non-eco products from the shop. The tonkatsu restaurant at the end of the road was excellent! Max Value nearby (supermarket) has an ATM, which opens till 11 pm was handy. Loads of restaurants nearby, but some won't take kids on premises, so I'd call up first.
