This place is paradise. If you’re looking for a spacious and authentic countryside stay in Japan, it’s hard to imagine anything better. The house is huge and perfect for families or groups. There are two large rooms for futons, one bedroom with bunk beds, a comfortable living room, and a separate kitchen. Upstairs, there’s a great space with a ping-pong table, piano, and other games, which kept everyone entertained. The kitchen is well equipped by Japanese standards, with everything needed to prepare meals. There’s also a small outdoor patio that is perfect for a cozy summer dinner. The location is quite remote, but that’s exactly what you’re looking for when staying in Gunma. The house feels like a beautifully renovated traditional Japanese home, combining countryside charm with modern comfort. Everything felt fresh, clean, and almost brand new. Honestly, this was probably the best accommodation we booked during our trip to Japan. Our only regret is that we stayed for just one night. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience rural Japan in comfort. We would happily stay here again, and next time for longer than one night.

Awesome old house with a history and incredibly hospitable owners, who not only treated us with a delicious dinner and home grown watermelon, but spent the dinner with us, sharing some interesting stories and laughing together. The house itself is quite simple, but truly comfortable to stay. It was especially refreshing to spend a summer night without an air conditioner turned on and waking up to the birds singing outside, absolutely unforgettable!
