Located within 25 miles of Tamarokuto Science Center and 26 miles of Mount Takao, Nobori has rooms in Ome. I had a room on the second floor overlooking the mountains and Tokyo in the distance. The bath was amazing, with abundant nature right outside the window, making it very relaxing. The meals were all very good. The staff was very nice. Great location if you want to hike Odake-san.
Located at the top of Mount Mitake, Shukubo Komadori-Sanso offers serene accommodations with the great views of mountains. Best chance to experience the traditional Japanese culture, in a beautiful scenario and excellent facilities! They were super helpful and nice!
Located in Ome, 22 miles from Tamarokuto Science Center, Oyado Yaokyu 1st Floor in 4 Story Building - Vacation STAY 6713 provides accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking. The dinner was spectacular!!! A full course meal where I was introduced to many locally sourced vegetables that were in season, grilled fish from the local river, and homemade desserts! Truly something I'd suggest to anyone who is staying over at their place. The room was astonishing!!! When I opening the door, I can see through the windows and see the river below me. The light shining into the traditional tatami room, bringing me inner peace as if I've walked into the tranquility of a old town in Japan. The night was quiet with the sounds of the river flowing through. Sweeping me away for a good nights rest. The breakfast was amazing!!! I was provided with homemade pickles, delicious eggs all the way from Hokkaido, miso soup using homemade miso and more. In summary, it was a plate made with locally sourced ingredients enhanced with specialties from other regions of Japan. Once breakfast was done, I was given a serving a hot green tea, where I sipped through while enjoying the sound of the river right in front of me. The food was made with a lot of attention and care, a perfect start for me to climb Mt Mitake!

Located in Kosuge, NIPPONIA Kosuge Village features a garden. With a restaurant, the 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a private bathroom. Everything about it was great. What was most impressive was the dinner. It was an 11-course dinner, and each dish was personally introduced by the chef (though it was in Japanese). Can't confirm this because I spoke (broken) Japanese with them, but I think the couple that runs the place can speak English. Seems they studied in Australia a while back, and their email correspondence to me was in English. Our room (Ohya 2 - mountain view) looked exactly as can be seen in their pictures. It's a 150-year old house, but rather than completely remodeling it, they kept the original features and added modern amenities. An excellent mix of old and new, very representative of what makes Japan unique. The interior is also very well designed. Our room had chairs designed by Verner Panton, and appliances by Balmuda. Included with your stay is free usage of e-bikes. This is necessary if you want to explore Kosuge village (the village where Nipponia is located) and you don't have a car. It's a mountain village, so the area is quite hilly. There are a variety of activities you can do in the village. There's a shrine you can visit right next to the accommodations, a waterfall, a short hiking trail to a mountain peak, a guided tour of the village and the produce they are known for, a hot spring that you can enter for free as guests of Nipponia, a few restaurants, stores that sell goods produced by the region, and a fun forest canopy obstacle course called Forest Adventure. Finally, the staff was excellent. Always very polite and helpful. Actually, everyone in Kosuge was like that as well. The experience they've designed for guests is very well-thought-out and revolves around giving couples a relaxing, quiet experience in nature, away from the city, and showcasing the best of what Kosuge has to offer.
